This is so helpful!! I’m fairly experienced with the creative suite, but I feel like you explained it well enough that anyone could get it done correctly watching this. Thank you!
I'm new to illustrator and cricut (but have used photoshop since it came out..LoL) and one of the first things I looked up how to do was change the art board color (which, I know now, can't officially be done but has workarounds) because I kept forgetting to remove big chunks of the white around the objects. Why am I mentioning this? Because I keep seeing on these videos people grabbing the object(s) and dragging them off of the art board to check for "leftover" white pieces. CTL/CMD-shit-d will toggle the art board between the "Show Transparency Grid" view and the regular art board. I don't know why having a white art board ALWAYS there bugs me sooooo much, but it does and I had to find the work around. I'm guessing it's from decades of using photoshop which doesn't use art boards by default. Hope this helps! And thanks for the video to help me figure out some of my svg stuff!
I really want to make coasters with NFL and NBA logos on them. However, everything that I have read states you have to have license in order to sell them. Do you have any way around that or any opinion? Thank you so much.
A question that I have is when you layer them do you have to how does it come out colored if you only put in black vinyl or do I have to put in every color?
Tay, here is a tip for you: The little bit of red, you could have selected the black under the SF (second top layer), and the little bit of red and compound pathed the two of those and the little red section would have been knocked out of the black.

Very cool and simple, for ma as a beginner looking forward to have a blast with this idea 💡
You could try cutting the little piece of red by using the pathfinder tools. You could try minus front or trim.
