Hey for other community layouts tap strafing does not work at all. Ill press the tap strafe button and it will freeze my movement. Did tap strafing get removed or something?
Controller tap strafing using mode shifting was removed earlier this year. Now you can’t input a lurching MnK input within a certain time interval following controller input. Emulating your entire controller as MnK is the only way to do it now and that is wonky and disables aim assist. This video explains that method. Best of luck
You could bind turbo W to left stick click, but that’d feel awkward. I consider the old left stick click mode switching method to be cheating because it turns all of WASD into turbo inputs, making it far superior to MnK. MnK players only have one scroll wheel and they bind that to “W” and jump
@@RobPlaysTooMuch well they are configs so at the end of the day i hardly see that it’s cheating because some controller players do this but i do see your point, but it’s like the only button I don’t use on my controller layout because I have auto run
That’s weird. The processing needs involved in this method should be low, you’re just converting each button 1-to-1 from controller to MnK. I have seen stories of people having unexplainable FPS drops and other issues with Steam configs, but I’m not sure what solutions those people found. Maybe rebind your jump button to the controller button for jump just to double check that that is the issue

is this still working for season 21? because when i change the keys for buttons it doesnt work. only the dpad works now.
I can’t find it on steam
Open Steam, nav to Apex Legends in your library. Open your web browser and type this URL: steam://controllerconfig/1172470/3244540208 . When you hit enter, it'll ask if you want to open this link in another app (Steam). Open and apply layout. Now save that in your layouts. Sorry, this appears to be the only way I can share it for now

does this mechanic and setup work in season 21?
Yes it does
@@RobPlaysTooMuchit’s not working for me I’m still keeping my old controller inputs for some reason
@@RobPlaysTooMuchnever mind it works but can I remove the movement configs but keep the move an loot?
@@killerc1615 not possible with this method unfortunately. The activation criteria for the move and loot is that you mouse cursor has to be on screen, but the cursor pops up inconsistently on standard controller settings. Specifically, it looks like using controller analog inputs while entering the death box makes it so the cursor doesn’t pop up.
It’d probably be possible and consistent with some kind of cfg, but that’s not something I’d know how to make
Cfgs weren't cheats it's a PC only thing
Anyone else getting mad stick drift I just went and bought the same controller went over video 5 times now don’t see where I went wrong other than the 2000 For R.j inner deadzone after choosing custom that option doesn’t appear for me even with advanced options on yet everything else was exactly the same
Looks like Steam just updated that section of the controller config settings. Now you need to change deadzone source to custom. A blue bar appears with 2 sliders. Left slider is inner deadzone. My recommendation, move inner deadzone up to 2-5. Leave outer at default
@@RobPlaysTooMuch it worked thank you👍
I cannot find your config on the community 😢
Try searching “Controller as MnK FINAL”. Steam is so glitchy. EDIT: See below response. Sorry for the difficulties.
I’ve tried too it doesn’t show up 😭😭😭
@@gillesdascia1442 @Fullmoonflex556 Open Apex in Steam library. Open web browser and copy and paste this URL: steam://controllerconfig/1172470/3244540208 . This'll open the config. Apply and then save it to your Steam configs for later. Sorry, this seems to be the only way I can share it

this comes at a price of loosing aim assist tho
It’s a bad trade off but it is fun
i dont see it
I’ll go try to share the community config again EDIT: See comment below. Sorry for the difficulties.
Does not show up for me

@@RobPlaysTooMuchthanks
everything covered in this video is straight up cheating, NO EXCUSE !!!! u are using a third party programm and that is literly what respawn has banned. I agree that respawn should add a way for rollers to move like mnk but rn IT IS CHEATING !!!!
Look at the usage demonstration section and imagine the inputs I’m pressing to do those movements. If Respawn added lurch-like movement to controller, this is likely exactly how it would function. This is mapping MnK inputs to a controller. There’s really nothing special, OP or disingenuous going on here in practice
@@RobPlaysTooMuch then i could add aim assist to mnk per rewasd(still possible) and say "but controller can do it too", i know this example is a bit heavy. Pls dont get me wrong it is not OP, but the usage over a third party programm is considered cheating
@@NoAim0512 I totally see your argument, but I do think we’ll have to agree to disagree in this case. Using reWASD to enable cheating features like aim assist on the superior-aiming-device that is a mouse, that’d more clearly be cheating. But using reWASD to gain access to features that *should* be available to everyone sounds much less controversial. Imo, reWASD use was probably banned due to the former.
But if you’re of the opinion that Steam controller configs are third party software and are therefore by your definition cheating, I totally respect that
imo i don't think its cheating since your losing aim assist on top of that its still mnk inputs onto a controller so im not sure what your on about 😂
@@NoAim0512 rewasd is banned
First
this is literally cheating. i love your vids but promoting blatant cheats is pathetic
I’m surprised to hear this opinion. Why is this cheating?
@@RobPlaysTooMuch respawn literally said this is classified as cheating. Configs are cheating.
So you think PC players should be superior to all console players and that console/controller players should be left with horrible movement?@@royalpoop5122

No discord unfortunately. Small RUclipsr. But I can try to help you out via comments. Describe it or screen cap a video with your issues and I should be able to help
@@RobPlaysTooMuch i have my own binds and i want it according to them but i dont know how to
What if I don’t have paddles
I can’t imagine this method going smoothly without at least one extra button. I rebound a d-pad button to turbo-W then bound that to a paddle to use it as a “scroll wheel”. I think you can do the same thing by binding left-stick click to turbo-W and using auto sprint, but I haven’t tried that yet.
You can skip it and and use basic lurching inputs without a turbo-W button, but you’ll miss out on real MnK movement
