The general premise of 8:33 could have been a promising play. Based on the movement at 9:36 the original plan seems to be for Victor, Yay, and Crashies to cause noise at B Long to bait a rotation, and then Victor, Yay, and Crashies would immediately teleport to A to secure a free plant site; then FNS and Marved would get picks from XSET having to rerotate and cause confusion. Nonetheless, that does not happen because Ayrin's double snake bite bought a lot of time and space preventing them from pushing Ayrin out of the pit for too long, so he went back in the pit and got two picks. We can see that Victor seems to wanted a change in plans once they saw the snake bite in the pit, but he goes back into the pit, I guess, from the go-ahead to proceed with the original fake (or perhaps take B site if they got a pick on Ayrin). I feel like Optic's best plan to account for the double snake bite is to stagger util i.e. trade the trailblazzer for one snake bite and then Victor's util for another. Of course, staggering this util instead of rushing B like Optic would probably alert to XSET that someone should stay to contest A teleport for such a tactic which would require someone from Optic to keep the A teleport safe. (Or perhaps the risky plan is to save Crashies's flash to flash out of the A teleport so you can keep everyone at B for the fake.)
The fact that the players have so internalized playing together, makes the last 2v1 technically genius. FNS expected both to be there so by splitting, they won the round in time.

At 1:49 what is that xhair placement? Is he holding higher to hit a jump peek? Trying to understand as I’d be holding lower so I could merge two angles: someone swinging from behind the box and someone peeking close
Yeah he most definetly is. Its like the most common peek so it makes sense he would be holding that. Also usually players who play c will just jump peek behing the box rather than peeking close.
@@Sacktbt yeah I understand the concept but I was surprised he would prioritize a low chance shot like that over the two peeks that could actually kill him if they did them. Interesting
@@riker8214 yeah there is a certain risk to it cause he could peek close just like you said, but it is not very common for players to do that because when you jump peek from behind the box, even if they are close you have time and the cover to potentially stop the push or atleast escape so you dont die, but when you peek close you are basically dead if they are pushing.
@@Sacktbt Ah I didn’t mean to focus so much on the close angle. I just meant that I would have figured they’d hold for an actual swing, but you can hold it in such a way that it also merged with the close angle and no mouse movement is needed
On round 16, why did crashes not call out they aren’t rotating? He can hear them if they go short or cave , and if they go walk cave then they won’t have time.
I feel like 90% of this was XSET being new to LAN and partially getting an unlucky draw in playing Optic first. After watching the NA grand finals and then seeing this, I can see alot of comparisons in both of those games, just on LAN here it looked *very* rough for them, might be nerves might be something else, but Optic doesn't lose revenge games and they've got the experience, they only played "badly" in peoples eyes in this game because they were countering XSET. Didn't have to play 100% to beat them. Either way this looked like a ranked game all things considered. Cryo and Zekken (the newest to LAN on XSET) performed great and they were the ones with question marks, the rest of the team, not so much. Hoping they get their nerves out and shit together for their match against Leviatan.
The Guard are a younger team with less LAN experience and didn’t look nearly this bad. XSET looked like they forgot how to play the game. There’s not even a crowd here, what nerves could possibly lead to some of these god awful rounds
Because that BcJ ninja defuse was so close, I reckon he actually gets the defuse if he just looks away from FNS and down, to shield his head with his body so FNS can't get a headshot. The extra 0.3 seconds time to kill would've probably won XSET the round.
To be fair, other regions are playing mindlessly too. Latam and SEA play like ranked all the time. Its just that they are used to it and it works somehow.
Difference is, they’re not mindless. They play aggressive and different - but not mindless. Its calculated stupidity, aka unexpectedness. In their minds they know that they’re going to be cauht off guard, where the attention is being drawn and them swinging and profiting off the attention being drawn away from them. This is uncalculated stupidity, aka ranked.
I feel insulted when you compared it to a silver lobby. Silver lobbies could never push a vipers pit like that, the cowardice can be bad, but usually it keeps them alive a bit longer
biggest difference between NA teams and other global teams, it really feels like NA is still playing CS to me. Lots of raw aim duels that you have to win to win the round, and it isnt a BAD style keep in mind, it's just not ALWAYS the best style, and it feels like compared to APAC, EMEA, and some of the LATAM/BR teams, we've fallen behind in terms of strategy and the meta
I agree with everything besides your critisism at 16:00, i think it is fine from marved and victor to fight one side of the a split. Victor not checking the close corner is the only problem i have with it
The reward isn't worth it if the risk is making a losing round for the opponent a winning one, if they get the kill, surprise, opponents lose a losable round and if they fuck that up they lose the economy win and give free guns
the skill differential between NA teams and other regions is insanity. Like even my favorite W key chaos team PRX looks more coordinated and calculated than NAs best team. Maybe it's just that NA teams go for clipable plays / highlight reels?
after watching you cover apac then seeing this video ive got a feeling that NA... isnt really as good as NA players claim it to be. im absolutely baffled at these plays. albeit im only in plat and pub gamer ive got no say in these pros, but I guess I definitrly did not expect ego plays I usually see in only rank

Interesting
@@Sacktbt do you think it looks close enough to the box to hit the jump peek?
He can hear them if they go short or cave , and if they go walk cave then they won’t have time.
i was WAITING for this video
your commentary is top class, cant wait for more of ur masters copenhagen vids!
From what I’ve seen from leviatan, extremely unlikely
The Guard are a younger team with less LAN experience and didn’t look nearly this bad. XSET looked like they forgot how to play the game. There’s not even a crowd here, what nerves could possibly lead to some of these god awful rounds
Because that BcJ ninja defuse was so close, I reckon he actually gets the defuse if he just looks away from FNS and down, to shield his head with his body so FNS can't get a headshot. The extra 0.3 seconds time to kill would've probably won XSET the round.
This was really funny! Haven't seen you this mad in a video before. haha
GG Man!
In a 5v3 if the attackers plant, it becomes a 5v2 since bomb player can't shoot
Stream was fucking hilarious, this will be good🔥
they were really playing like low elo ranked, for example deciding to solo push in numbers advantage, play away from eachother and so much more stuff
9:54 Guess the Rank 🤣😭
Subscribed your content is awesome
biggest difference between NA teams and other global teams, it really feels like NA is still playing CS to me. Lots of raw aim duels that you have to win to win the round, and it isnt a BAD style keep in mind, it's just not ALWAYS the best style, and it feels like compared to APAC, EMEA, and some of the LATAM/BR teams, we've fallen behind in terms of strategy and the meta
I feel like optic dumbed themselves down to xset's level because they usually didn't play like this against other teams lol
not wasting strats on an easy team
That round in Bind would have been considered bad even in a silver lobby. That is literally Bronze strategies there.
This was a very entertaining analysis
I agree with everything besides your critisism at 16:00, i think it is fine from marved and victor to fight one side of the a split. Victor not checking the close corner is the only problem i have with it
nah, even if he checked it at that range the classic would destroy victor's head.
The reward isn't worth it if the risk is making a losing round for the opponent a winning one, if they get the kill, surprise, opponents lose a losable round and if they fuck that up they lose the economy win and give free guns
NA over here tryna break world record for most clutches in a single series
lmao you are literally the LS of valorant community. Keep up the good content
Not really,LS is more of drafts Guy! over gameplay, imo
@@muhammadazrafbinmohdakmam4772 yeah because draft is important in league. The way they are passionate about stuff is the same
this match was weird but so funny to watch u react to
this video is so funny and informative i love it
Welcome to Valorant, the game were no-one does what they're supposed to.
Great video once again
👍
these solo peeks with player advantage don't happen in my silver lobbies the majority of the time. perplexing, eh
10:09 Poppin swing xD
Xset played well in NA playoffs. Idk why this happened to them. Maybe it's the lan curse all along in every NA's 1st seed.
they deserved every criticism they got, dont ever put that type of shows in international LAN event, disgusting performance
Nice new frame of acend :)
bro cussing xset for 10 minutes straight 💀💀
10:01 THIS SHIT GOT ME ROFL LMAO
the skill differential between NA teams and other regions is insanity. Like even my favorite W key chaos team PRX looks more coordinated and calculated than NAs best team. Maybe it's just that NA teams go for clipable plays / highlight reels?
Apart from optic most of the time, yes
@@dec1085 even optic makes weird disjointed decisions sometimes. Sometimes they look super clean sometimes idk wtf they’re doing
Sir this is a Wendys
Man this aged terribly
i think there's a curse if you've ever been NA 1st seed at an international event just like The Guard🤷♂️
I love Chris when he is angry
Kek, it’s cause PRX always fight vipers pit, so optic thought they could do the same.
PRX fight viper pit using yoru ult so they brave to fight inside it with yoru information
after watching you cover apac then seeing this video ive got a feeling that NA... isnt really as good as NA players claim it to be. im absolutely baffled at these plays. albeit im only in plat and pub gamer ive got no say in these pros, but I guess I definitrly did not expect ego plays I usually see in only rank
Can’t wait to see your levi va xset commentary lol, bring the same energy. DRX vs FNATIC will be grand final. DRX win
XSET: In terms of teamplay, we have not teamplay.
imagine proclaiming you are one of the best initiators along side crashies then dont perform on lan lmao. Disappointed not to see drx vs xset
You are looking like LS from League roasting these teams lmao
If BcJ used the Skye Ult, Optic would have also lost the round
why arent sen hiring you as an analysis guy...
Did xset get big win..? I mean bet thing i think..?
You don't wanna see when Chris is angry 😂😂
It felt like OpTic played with zero respect for XSET, and that bravado cost them some rounds. Hopefully they don't play like this against the remaining teams.
i love your personality uwu
"Guess ur Rank " Lmaooo
