I don't have a scientific methodology to test this but from a subjective opinion, the sound sticks sound quality is better. If you don't have them side by side and play them back to back, you would be hard pressed to notice the difference. The only major difference is bass
is that faux leather? arent those thing could tear after some times, even faster if treated roughly intentionally or accidentally. or is it plastic made to look like leather?
it's not plastic. It some type of faux leather. So far it's holding up but the speakers in our setup don't see direct sunlight. Only time will tell if it holds up like automotive faux leather or like a faux letter on bags.
I made test speaker at 2.75 inch driver (Edifier G2000) and it was badly - bass port produced unpleasant sounds. Do the speakers behave the same way here? Test track was Guillaume David - Children of the Omnissiah
I'm returning g2000 whilst I can they dnt sound right specially with edm / trance there's no body to the sound and I thought they were high res at first but this is my dream speaker with 24bit 96khz over usb and ldac as well but only 990kbps as 24bit files have higher kbps ill mainly be using with my laptop over usb anyway
Great, detailed review, thank you!
I agree that focus on charging is a bti weird. I just want nice looking RGB speakers with great audio quality -.-
I love the look of the white Halo 2.0. I currently have the white Audioengine a2+ on my desk, hopefully this is not a downgrade😊
Thanks for the great review! Im hoping they come to North America!
Not caring about the bass, how's the highs and mid-range compared to the Sound Sticks?

I was just deciding between this and the Soundsticks 4. Which one do you prefer the most?
if you like your music with more bass, go with the soundsticks 4. Personally i like the bookshelf speaker look

Better than r1700bts?
can't comment on this as we don't have the r1700bts to compare with, but from personal aesthetic point of view, the halo 2.0 looks more modern
