We recorded this starting from a day after the easter egg was found, but I only got around to editing a bit over a week ago. This is a really great journey and one that other RW youtubers probably should've done as it makes you go all around the world, really don't see why more videos of this don't exist.
I knew there was a way to do it vanilla! So you can get every single unlock without any abilities, crazy that grapple worms never came to mind when we played.

Monk has "attunement with nature" which just means he starts with really high rep with everything, hunter has back spear and better damage, gourmand just has so much stuff, arti has double jump, parry, and a weird karma mechanic, riv has insane lung capacity and ZOOMIES, spearmaster has infinite spears and food for hitting things with spears, and saint has long tongue.)
it ain't the character, we had incredible fun with monk because the journey was interesting. Survivor was boring because the journey was short and very uneventful. Same with Gourmand and Rivulet. We were right nearby where we needed to be and only had like at most 2 interesting moments getting there.
@@You-fools I'm aware- What I meant is that independently from the video Survivor is generally much less interesting than the other scugs. What I meant to convey was moreso "Survivor boring, like in most cases" but it was also mostly a joke because survivor can be interesting but generally is less interesting by default.
Not sure if this is true, but one time I was playing with a friend on RW, and he said that the female squidcadas are stronger or something than the male. That's probably what you guys found at 16:00
idk how they're distinguishing gender with squidcada's but the white ones are generally slightly stronger and are able to lift the slugcat for longer without getting tired in comparison to the dark ones. Beyond that the gigasquid is an anomaly among large white squidcadas. No squidcada should be capable of permanently lifting non-starving gourmand, but the gigasquid is simply too strong to care. The explanations I can come up with is either a jolly co-op bug of player 2 inheriting player 1s slugcat stats (gourmand gains the weight of spearmaster in this case) or the gigasquid's wingspan is so abnormally large it can just do that.
im pretty sure theres no distinction of gender within the rain world code, lest one is to consider the difference between white/black squidcadas as gender dimorphism
Squidcadas are actually the only gendered creature in rain world, a devlog mentions white/black squidcadas being different sexes though it just refers to them as gender A and B and there was never a decision on which was male or female etc. I do find ppl tend to see white squidcadas as the females more often (which would make sense with plenty of animals having larger females and also the fact that the devlog mentions the white ones staying near their nest). Either way white and black squidcadas are supposed to be sexual dimorphism.
ive been trying to backfip into a pounce to cross a ledge for hours, ive been reading the advanced control tutorials, it just wont do it, im so god dman mad, fuck this game
roll pounces are simple. Run away from the ledge, turn and jump, hold down and the direction towards the ledge then jump once you've rolled up to the edge. If you're not making it I'd also recommend throwing some rocks or spears at the peak of your jump to go further.
It's a type of speed climbing where you press jump twice then quickly tap up and the opposite direction to the side of the pole you're climbing (eg: You're climbing the left side, jump jump up+right, or climbing right side jump jump up+left). You jump to get a short boost, jump to hop off the pole so you don't slow down then up and right/left to regrab the pole and repeat. It's a relatively awkward timing to get down but once you learn it, it becomes immensely helpful. Such as at your timestamp where I needed it to escape that lizard safely.
