SF bus drivers are beyond capable. I just took the 44 down to the science museum. I haven't been on the SF transit system for years. I nearly had a heart attack with how fast they went around the curves of the hills not to mention the long way down those hills. They have amazing skills maneuvering around the city. To calm myself down, I had to reassure myself that the bus driver knew what he was doing.

I'm a bus driver myself and I don't envy their job of driving buses up and down SF's hills, I suppose it's just a fun little challenge for MUNI drivers though!

I used to ride the 33 on the weekdays. The drivers on the 33 are usually very slow. The route from Mission Street/16th Street to Arguello/Geary Blvd averages about thirty minutes. That is one fast bus driver.
