I really miss the heyday of Deep Ellum. I was lucky to be in college in Dallas at that time, the music scene was amazing!!!!

Yeah , I remember the original Clearview , but , can't even remember if I ever went there. I did'nt go to Clearview a lot , I hated the music they played there....But , I would go there if somebody I liked , like The Blasters , played there.I don't remember going there on Hallowe'en. I'd usually go to TheTwilite Room , TG , sometimes both. I had a pice in an art show, and once played at , Clearview , tho'.

Hey , I used to go see Jim with The Polytones , too. I saw him do two songs with Teddy and The Tall Tops in '83 at the forgotten pre- Twilite Room/T.G. venue , Ground Zero. We did'nt get there til the end of the gig. It was the night Peter Tosh played @ Bronco Bowl , and the first time I got in a club with my own ID. FASCINATING , I KNOW.

GZ was the bomb...smoke, women & alcohol (& that was pre-DE). our tribe haunted DE when it was just Adairs, the PB, TG & then the orignal Clearview (across the street and down the block from the later version - the haunted house at Halloween remember ?)
