Excellent footage. I wouldn't exactly call the gps feature game changing though when you can install a $20 GPS module on a $200 fpv drone and it'll come right back too. Without the $1500 price tag lol

This is a very long DJI commercial lol
the FPV footage from the first half of the vlog doesn't look like it's coming from the DJI FPV to be honest, much more like the usual GoPro plus reelsteady look? since the footage from mount pico is not only choppy (cause of the missing 24/25p) but also much less detailed.
i'm sure they added post process stabilization also, i'm sure 100% of the footage is from the DJI FPV but don't doubt for a second that it isn't "straight out of the camera" but has a ton of color grading, stabilization and other pro-level post processing techniques applied. Even with GoPro... I love how their video each year looks like a 8K red digital cinema shot it and when I use the same GoPro its like a home video lol.

DJI FPV is totally shaky
@@canyonblue737-8 especially the footage from the „ghost forest“ looks way too wide for the DJI but i could be wrong. more so if it’s stabilized in post, the DJI wouldn’t look that wide at all. and you can tell GoPro and DJI colors appart pretty easily in most cases, no matter how you grade it.
of course all the press material is optimized on a professional level, but if you compare the DJI FPV release video with stuff they filmed for the air 2 or pro 2 release, you can already see a huge difference in image quality - even though they tried their best in hiding it.
gopro however.. well. of course you need good lighting for it to look good, thats the same with all the small sensor cameras. but i also never seen a camera that is so dependent on settings to look either absolute trash or really good.
normally, adjusting sharpening, saturation and maybe log recording doesn’t change the look to a degree you couldn’t tell if it’s still the same camera or not. with gopro, it's different.
i'd recommend you to check parker walbecks video about the gopro 9 for example, timestamp is 7:46 min.
No post tricks in here to enhance the capabilities correct? Other words, what you've shown is absolutely what the drone can do.

I don't know about everyone else but the DJI footage looks jerky in youtube even though youtube wasn't dropping frames, I tried edge browser as well and it was the same, nice video again anyways Mike.

What they leave out of all of these videos.
You don't live anywhere near any mountains, and if you do, do you really want to hike up a mountain to recover a $500 drone and $500 gopro to some sketchy GPS coords as your phone battery nears zero? Oh, and to get into the hobby from ground zero, will cost you about $2000-$3000. Betaflight and OpenTX is a massive learning curve taking you minimum 6 months to learn,and most of the time your equipment will sit on a table collectingdust, and you'll spend 99% of your time, if your smart, in a simulator learning to fly first. Me, like a year and a half later.
well half of those issues are eliminated by this drone... nothing to build, no beta flight etc., out of the box all in one for $1300 with digital FPV googles and control of unparalleled range, the ability to convert normal FPV manual flying with a button press to regular camera GPS DJI drone behavior with auto-hover, return to home and more. The only downsides (and they are real) to this drone is that it is heavy, a bit underpowered compared to many FPV drones, and is much more fragile. You are so right that you need to train in the sim (and until ready you should fly this drone in the normal DJI modes, not manual) and it should never be used for racing or freestyle as they are just too risky of a crash... this drone is for what you saw in the video... open terrain following with dynamic movement (fairly low risk if you have some skill.)

This is going to create so many sh1tty pilots that think they are pilots and are flying when they are not.
I"m an aerobatic pilot, and moving around in the sky like you're driving a city bus is not flying Cinematic flying takes about as much skill as an old grandpa driving slowly and cautiously to the grocery store and back. This would be a very poor aerobatic quad, most of the time it'd be in the mail to DJIcare or back... and the DJI goggles.. they aren't all that.
I absolutely loathe mine. One of these days I'm going to take them out into the driveway and back over them with my car. Dont' eve get me started listeing all the problems with them you can find my 10 page rant in the comments section on the DJI V1 prodcut pron video and elsewhere.
Here's my advice to anyone that wants to get into the RC hobby:
1) Buy a GPU, a Sim, and a legt trnasmitter ot use as a controller. Put about 500-1000 hours into learnign to fly. Don't buy a single other piece of hardware until you do. No quads, no batteries, no chargers, no goggles, nothing. An Nvidia Geoforce 1070, a copy of Liftoff off of Steam in Fantastic Settings, and a TX-16s with Hal gimbals is my dead on recommendation.
2) Don't try any online reviewers - they are all shills for the hobby. Your best reviewers are going to be those that are brutally hard on any product and tear it down. If you watch a reviewer that shows nothing but product pron and glitzy footage and talks nothing but how awesome and easy and wonderful something is, your first reaction should be "this guy is full of $41T." Because he is. He's out to get views and subscribes and a few coins from affiliate links. He is not your friend, and he will lead you to no good outcome.
I've watched them all and I would say there are no reviewers out there you can totally trust. A few are way better than the others, but you have to take a wide range of them in. Don't buy anything beofre you watch at least 5 reviews on it, and those better be real reviews, not product pron like this video or the others you've watched about the DJI FPV system is.
Here's the thing. This comes out, and everyone reviews it to get the views to their channel. THey all copy each other. They all talk it up. They are all for a quick view grab for eyeballs, but very few go into it at all. Of all of them I've seen so far, the Bardwell one is the best, probably because he got his weeks ahead of time. And he's not the toughest reviewer on products.
So yeah, before you pull the trigger on this cr@p, do yourself a favor and get many hundreds of sim flying hours under your best first. I don't have anything to gain by steering you wrong. And I'm about the most p1$$y fpv pilot out there lol.Which is a darn good thing. You'll find out when you break all your expensive stuff and have it backed up on a table, waiting for you to fix it. Not so fun now, is it. :-/
RC, the actual hobby, isn't what its made out to be or cracked up to be.
There are better quads out there, and you don't want to buy plastic cr@p or be locked into the DJI propreitary ecosystem.
I know you want to fly real bad, if you're reading this, but there are way better ways to go about it. Would you buy a brand new $60,000 BMW, and then try and learn to drive it on the way home from the car lot? With no training at all. Good luck with that!
