    Thank you Tom! It's really been hectic here for the past few weeks but last week was of excitement and anticipation, when we know you are uploading another YoloBox video! Thank you for the kind words, really empowering and means a lot to the team!! (Looping option for auto-switching is in the making and should be coming out in two weeks. USB webcam out, should have audio already and will have overlays soon enough in our next update as well! The fan are normally triggered by the processing power consumption, for example when you are starting using the Monitor Mode with one HDMI, it should stay silent. But when multiple HDMIs are plugged in and you are using it for a long while, the fan will be triggered)

    Thank you for the update. I've been looking at the yolobox pro for awhile. The lack of screen rotation was annoying. Now you can but an osmo pocket directly on top of it. Then use your phone to control the osmo whenever. With one of those yolobox cages, you can support a battery and a nighthawk m1 to combine two lte connections + wifi, to stream via rtmp. It's going to be my all-in-one goto for irl streaming 1080p60hz @ 50mb/s

    I'm so happy your review of the Yolobox came across my RUclips recommended videos! I am a multimedia specialist at a high school, and this opens up so many possibilities for my student-run live streaming club. What you were saying at the 12:18 mark was so relatable! I am definitely going to look into purchasing one. This seems so much more practical and portable than our current setup. Thank you!

    • @tombuck
      @tombuck  2 года назад +2

      If I was still teaching, I would definitely have at least one of these! It doesn't have all the versatility of a full-on computer setup, but it can get darn close. And the portability/simplicity is outstanding (especially when paired with some wireless video kits).

The time it took to set up Phil Collin's drum kit with the 50-ish mics and all those cables and then getting it all somewhat in the ballpark ready for a soundcheck and concert took a crew of 5 - 16 hours. Also on RUclips livestreams I can pop up the chat on screen until someone sends a super chat or a super sticker where all you see is an empty chat box it is an absolute nightmare as there is no point in a viewer posting a super chat if the message doesn't show up on screen. Thanks for this video, Tom!
    I have been looking at the Blackmagic ATEM Minis for my desk. I was also going to look for a small multiview display. Then the Yolobox Pro popped up, and I thought -- maybe Tom made a video about the Yolobox...sure enough, you did! :)
    My question is: for a desk setup where I share content via Zoom / MS Teams / Google Meet, and also make instructional videos -- with my computer, sometimes an additional computer, an iPad screen, and a camera as video sources -- would you recommend one of the ATEM's or the Yolobox Pro? I use the RODECaster Pro II for audio (thanks for that video also - yes, you're responsible for most of my desk AV footprint). My camera currently is an Elgato FaceCam. It would be amazing if that could work with the Yolobox, but I recognize I may need to get a camera with HDMI out.
    Currently, if I want to share content from more than one computer / iPad, I join the meeting from that device and share the screen from that device. It works, but it's a little clunky. Similarly, for creating an instructional video, I'll jump on a Zoom session from each of the devices, share the screen from each as appropriate, and record in Zoom on my primary computer.
    Thanks!

      Hi Yash!
      The YoloBox is absolutely awesome and it only gets better with each update, so it can definitely get the job done.
      That being said, when I'm in my office/studio, I stick with the ATEM/Ecamm/Rodecaster setup just because it does add a ton of flexibility and for me physical buttons can't be overrated. With the ATEM I can easily see/feel the buttons and switch angles/make changes sometimes without even looking away from the camera. 🤯
      I just did a video with Aaron Parecki on his channel where we talk about what the YB would need to become our "main" streaming device. It might give some additional insight (especially because Aaron is a genuine genius): ruclips.net/video/CsE05v5VEGM/видео.html

      Depends on the model you choose and your situation. If you choose the Pro and you do a casual single camera live stream every few months, it’s probably not worth it. If you have a workflow like a lot of schools, churches, or video production teams do, it could literally save you tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of time.

      It’s a very different ecosystem, but their recent streaming add-ons are neat for someone who already has one.
