2:25 it's not that medieval music is latin/sung in church. that's just the music we have from the time period that was written down. whatever was being played in shithole towns or the ubiquitous pagan regions during most of medieval europe wasn't much recorded. it is referred to sometimes by later artists though, many composers in the baroque period named their pieces in way that reference older musical themes.
Based on your opinion and knowledge, what would you think would happen if a modern band got time traveled to medieval times and tried to make a living there playing modern music. Would they be hunted and labeled heathens? Would the music be any good to the people of that era? Or would they be able to make an impact and change how music is perceived? I often have this imaginary fantasy when I listen to music I really like. Its similar to why reaction channels are so popular. To see the reactions of awe or perhaps disgust on the people who experience things for the first time. So you can experience the same feeling you had, through them, vicariously.

Actually, the dulcimer is the contemporary successor to the praetorius scheitholt, which is a medieval instrument.
@@dr.zither Preatorius is a Renaissance composer :) I doubt any proof of a similar instrument from the middle ages.

So you're referring to the 7 modes of the modern Diatonic scale.
This is different to the 8 medieval modes.
