This video single handedly showed me how to instal the intake thank you! Also i realized theres literally open holes right beside the bolt where you need to access behind the under tray anyways so guess what i did….. added one more hole. lol.
"or remove the entire skid plate to make it easier" yeah lmao i did it without removing either. highly recommend removing the skid plates. makes this a much quicker install lol
Thank you for your suggestion! I'm planning on doing a shakedown video once everything is complete. That being said, the turbo is much more audible with the new intake as well as the recirc valve
You say to remove the full undertray, my question is, once youre done with all that to remove the old parts, do you button everything back up, or do you still need it apart for access from below while installing the new CAI?
Excellent question Joe! Although the rest of the install of the new CAI can be achieved through the service panel in the undertray, it's a lot easier with the whole tray removed. I buttoned everything back up at the very end.
I have this intake, and it's a great addition to a civic. I can hear the turbo so much more. It's not like a prl intake, but it's much more secure in terms of keeping water out.
I think the cobra intake is pretty good at staying dry. It's also a bit harder to install than this one but not by much, they're both pretty easy. But the way the 27won intake just drops in there looks nice I'm not gonna lie lol
Thank you for your question! Once the car was high enough off the ground, the under tray was about 10 minutes to remove. I used a floor jack but the car was at the highest setting of the adjustable stands.
Hi rick did you experience when mounting the air filter box (27won) that it would rub against the cold air line of the fmic from prl. Thanks for de info
Hi Dietger - I experienced the exact issue you described. I solved it by affixing a square of weather stripping (adhesive-backed foam) to the corner of the airbox to cushion the two pieces.
@@RicksGarage Hi Rick I don't have the fmic yet I try to collect as much information as possible before I make the purchase so it is very good that there are people like you who post clear videos from which one can learn, thanks for the tip, keep it up. best regards Dietger
So I installed this on my hatchback sport..I dont notice a difference in sound or power..although I wasn't expecting a difference in power..I was hoping for an increase in sound ..
NIce. Wish I had the $$ to do all the same to my 2017 Si. As a disabled vet with a family, it makes it difficult, lol. Not to mention the $$ it costs for 27Won, PRL, Mishimoto, etc items. Had someone not too nicely tell me that if I couldn't afford the high costs of any of those items, then maybe I shouldn't have gotten the car.
Kinda of a jerky thing to say to someone - I agree that the prices are quite high for some of these aftermarket parts. I can only chalk it up to it being a "new" car. Once this platform is a gen or two old, I would imagine the prices will drop.
@@RicksGarage Yeah it was probably someone that still lives with mommy and daddy ,LOL. I know there are new things coming out for the 10th Gen still but hopefully the "older" mods will drop in price soon.

Please in the future, make a sound slip. Some of us are curious as to what it sounds like.

Rick's Garage waiting on the video pls boss!
Wow,,, this is one of the best “how to” videos I’ve ever seen.
Thank you very much for your kind words! Be sure to sub (if you havent already😎)
And thanks for the support!

That is a slick set up Rick. Good choice and a nice and clean install. Can't wait to to see what kind of numbers you get after all the phase 2 work.
How long did it take you to remove the entire under tray? Could you see yourself doing the job without a lift?

( New subscriber, SI owner) Good content, I really like your videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your comment! New vid should be ready soon!
Is the 27won cold air intake street version and is it smog legal for California?
You'd have to double check directly with 27Won to confirm but I don't think it's smog legal in California

Is your car manual? That might be it?
Great video!
Wow your videos have improved. So awesome, great work. Let's keep in touch now that i know your a lowrider buff. i have more questions for you. ;)
What would be a k&n filter size replacement in case in need of a replacement?
Great question - I think that should be directed to 27won - they'd have all the specs used to fab the enclosure
@@RicksGarage thanks will contact them
Would this fit the 2.0l as well???
Doubtful - the intake snorkel on the 2.0L is in a different position than the 1.5L
No tune needed? Compared to the 8th gen civic si.
Not sure about the 8th gen specifically - if you want, you can run this intake as-is with no tune required... but what's the fun in that? 😆
man people are sleeping on this channel
Does the touring and SI have the same intake set up? Like can I put that intake on my touring?
I believe the touring and Si have the same intake box so it should work but I'd send 27Won a quick email to confirm.
NO. Same intake does not work. You need a different varient of the same intake for a non-si.
