  • Jeremy's concept for a fast-casual restaurant doesn't go down well with the judges.
    From Season 13, Episode 12: The chefs travel through San Francisco's Chinatown, winding up at chef Martin Yan's M.Y. China restaurant, where they use woks; then Umami Burger restaurateur Adam Fleischman tasks the chefs to create their own fast-casual restaurant concept.
    Top Chef is an American reality competition television series which premiered on Bravo on March 8, 2006. The show features chefs competing against each other in culinary challenges. The contestants are judged by a panel of professional chefs and other notables from the food and wine industry, with one or more contestants eliminated in each episode.

    So, nowhere in that clip did Padma (or any of the judges) specifically refer to it as “sexist.” They were just confused.

      @@OhThankKevin, it’s more of an objectification of women. But, my point remains. Nowhere in the video did Padma or Tom say or refer to any of the concept as “sexist.”

      @@brandoniswhoiam so sexist needs to be stated for it to be sexist. It can’t be implied (like Padma’s look). In your opinion, Does that mean racial bias crimes needs the perp to use racist language/ terms?

    Horrified??? I think he was playing off a stereotype and rambling because it's a pressure cooker situation.
    People really need to stop overreacting and over reading into things.

    Padma got to where she is today by using her looks. Other businesses doing it isn't different than selling clothes and fashion with models. Who's to say some of them in the future will catch better opportunities. It isn't sexist because it's done with guys as well, restaurants and bars regularly hire the most attractive people they can find that can do the job and they tend to make more in tips than many tradespeople annually while only working part time hours.
