Honestly I've never really had a negative opinion of Joel but this actually opened my eyes a bit more to the person he actually is. Truly an amazing actor for playing all those jerks so well and being as chill as he is in real life lol
😂 when you wrote "but" i was thinking , so you have a negative opinion of him now?
@@reallivebluescatthat's what a "but" should have meant.
@@KevinElderFarts That's a big but.
@@andresbarriga5305 well... I like "big buts" and I cannot lie.
Joel , I see your value now
I mean...he's no Chris Pratt, but.....Hahaha
@@TheMattJacks it’s a community thing
@@mohammadbashammakhSo was their response
That's gotta be the nicest thing anybody has ever said about him
Was it the water joke?
Bring back The Joel McHale Show, possibly with Joel McHale.
I’ll also accept Ryan Seacrest. Granted he’s not as handsome
This is possible now that we have the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, possibly with Jon Stewart.
not enough appreciation in here for Joel's subtle but effective Chevy impression
It’s spot on!
You know that he did play him in a movie a couple of years ago?
@@SpetalskBKHSBS quite well too. Altho i still would have liked to see Rosenbaums take
@@SpetalskBKHSBS I sure didn't
People don't know who Rosenthal is. Joel is just a bigger size actor.
I had the pleasure to meet Joel many years ago in Belfast and he was the kindest and friendliest guy, spoke to me and my then wife for about 10 minutes.
I think my favorite part of this story is I'm not surprised.
So, kind of the opposite of Chevy Chase, then? 😂
Joel McGale he was great as Sylvester Pemberton in Stargirl and then the whole reveal with what really happened to him was such a huge surprise with Ultra Humanite coming into play with Brad Garrett voicing him.
I'm so glad Joel is back. It was thanks to him that I found out about this amazing podcast
I miss the Darkest Timeline Podcast with Joel and Ken Jeong.
The episode of that podcast where Allison Brie is just going off the rails high off edibles had me damn near breaking a rib laughing
Man if only I liked zoom’d podcasts. They’re both hilarious
Did they finish the podcast?
Joel has been sweet, kind and funny since he started here in Seattle on Almost Live. We are so proud of him!
Love Joel McHale seems like such a chill dude
I am a proud Joel Mchale fan. Cant wait for the Community movie.
Listening to this episode now and highly enjoying it. I am so glad that Joel is back on the podcast. He definitely opens up every time that he is on. Best podcast ever!!
Re: The Lost Boys. I just met Kiefer and Jason at a con the other day, got a pic and Jason signed it and talked with me for a bit. They were both very nice and wished me happy birthday. I stopped counting how many times I'd seen the movie when I reached 200.
Great to see Joel back on the podcast again, he seems very relaxed this time around and I admire the fact that he is still so much in love with his wife. Thanks for this wonderful and interesting conversation💖
Talk about relatable when Joel was talking about learning lines vs his ADHD - "Once I snap in it's a lot easier, but to get there is like pulling ---". I also have ADHD and have never felt more seen while watching someone else talk about themselves.
I'm in love with his sarcasm.
I just finished listening to this podcast and it was awesome. Joel definitely opened up . I am glad that you got him back on the podcast. Y’all have the best conversations. I can relate to the ADHD. Best podcast ever!
Joel, you’ve been a staple in my life since spider man 2. Love ya buddy! Can’t wait for Abeds reunion movie lol
Joel on the Soup made me laugh at a time where I was really going through it. I am so grateful for that.
Great episode. Can't wait for the chat with Nicholas Hoult!
Joel’s performance in The Bear was deserving of a spin off, solo series. Dude was brutal.
Ooooh funny I literally added this to my watch list last night as sounded good had no idea who cast is😊
Great performances all around.
He is in it very little. Only in flashbacks@@darnitthelma4247
There’s not a day where I don’t miss the Soup and Community 😊
Theres a great picture of Joel and his wife when they first met. They both have those early 90’s bowl cuts 😂 its adorable 🥺
I don’t know Joel well and so, another great discovery where the main topics i like much,on personal life, family, career and anxiety, à problem that won’t let me go !! Thanks Michael and Ryan, amazing as always !💙💙💖💖👏👏👏
Loved this ep, thanks!
-Long-time Community fan (well, and Smallville too).
I'll be honest. Up till a month ago I didn't even know who Joel was nor was I familiar with his work. However, when I needed something new to binge Ive been recommended to watch "Community ". Since then, I INSTANTLY fell in love with all the characters and the actors! I'm still trying to get to know the actors behind the characters. This podcast did indeed help me get to know Joel a bit better (also on my watch list is an older podcast he had with Ken his former co-star). If there are any old Joel fans do let me know if you'd recommend projects or podcasts he's in or was
Another great podcast. Great to see Joel back on!
Joel is a fun guy. And his personality makes him a hottie, too.
I loved Joels first time on here and am looking forward to diving into this one.
Always a treat every time he comes on. Thank you for another great interview 😊❤️🙏.
it's always a nice surprise to start following a new episode of inside of you podcast I always get excited listening to you don't disappoint love you 💞
I just found this podcast and the talk bill podcast a few weeks ago and I have been catching up with the older episodes and trying to keep up with the newer ones every time they come out. This really struck the cord with me actually because both podcasts communicate feelings and talk about anxiety and depression, and all the ways they manifest. You always have great guests and Joel is no exception. I remember him all the way back to his old days at E. Keep up the great work. Thanks for all that you do.
Thank you again with your spectacular "Inside of you " 😊
Looking forward to seeing you at SummerCon in Puyallup, Washington in June!
I love Joel, he's been awesome in everything he's done and he seems like a genuine, down to earth dude
I'm on Adhd medication, and the tiredness is down to your brain being able to slow down and not feel like a rubber ball flying around constantly. So think of it like relaxing your shoulders, and realising just how tense they've been unconsciously and that sense of relief you feel.
Been loving him as Johnny Cage
2 of my all time favorite people. Excited for this one.
There's a guide to fight Chevy Chase???....bout to google this. 😂
Rufus Sewell said in an interview that “quickness of wit” is what really makes you an intelligent person.
Nice episode. The feeling you two have is called Imposter Syndrom..."when people feel inadequate despite their professional success...". I think the Reality-Check is a good way to deal with it. I can also relate to the ADHD problems.
LOVED this episode- loved getting a glimpse of who Joel is and I really see why everyone enjoys him so much. A+ podcast 🎉
Great interview!
Love your podcasts. You are a great interviewer
Awesome interview!
I would love to see a pimp my ride spoof with Joel, Michael and this Dodge van.
Joel is amazing and love the Psych connections here.
IRL, Chase used to hang out at a pool hall in CT where a friend of mine used to work.(circa 2000) He was a huge dbag. I get the feeling hundreds of people have called him out for being a dbag. Joel is a likeable guy and a great teasing sense of humor. Didn't know he restored cars.
Also been looking at headless travel guitars lately. Very cool you have one and a good story to go with it.
Great interview Michael.
Great interview and love how Joel has the Corsetti Cruiser shirt. Classy AF!
I take Elvanse (the name here in Sweden for one of those available) for my ADHD. It works for me. Despite some sideeffects i prefer being on it: Without it i cant think proberly, have lot less energy, my brain is constantly stuck in some weird fog and i dont really function as a person. With it I an productive, creative and have more energy. I am more focused and less distracted by the environment. I used it for a few years after getting diagnosed. Went off it for about two years and recently went back on it. Those two years was so bad.
In the US, it’s called Vyvanse and is what I take for my ADHD. I also take Wellbutrin, because it’s the only antidepressant that works for me with the added bonus of helping with my ADHD.
Now that you interviewed Joel, you could ask him to plug you to Conan O'Brien and have him over. I'd love, and I mean LOVE to see you interview Conan. This was great fun to watch, Joel is really intereting.
@52:57 Michael’s brain processing what he just heard 😂
Loved it! Joel is hilarious! Going to start listening to the audio version of his book. The cheaper version and I didn’t get to see the pictures 😂😂. Michael, you came out with Rosie’s Fresh Breath too late, Joel’s cat could have used it.😂😂. Love what I have heard of your audio book so far!

Hey Mike I think your interviewing style has improved so much!! I think since you started doing this I have appreciated the fact that this more of an "actor on actor" type of conversation than say any morning show interview or celebrity podcast..
I think now that you have this setup, I would suggest maybe take it to the next level by doing a actors group- almost like what Variety or Hollywood reporter does but more in a relaxed set up- a dinner or living room where you guys talk shop and watch a flick.. I can just see Mchale, Sutherland & Patric, Astin and others in the same room just having a great time talking shop and keeping you as a moderator
My Favorite part of Tuesday 💙🤘
Great interview. Loved Joel in Stargirl.
I loved this
The best podcast ❤
Another book for my list!
We love you Joel!
He was great hosting talk soup!
Don't know if you're reading these Joel but 45 mg of Adderall is a lot especially first time. Also, both Vyvanse and Adderall affect different people differently. Michael may have found it to be smooth but it hits me like a maximum overdrive truck filled with rage so I don't take it. I take extended release Adderall which lasts 12 to 15 hours and it's much more level. Brand name is key.
Fans will love to see Ryan in DC.
Many thanks to Rosey, Ryan and Joel! 🎙
Saw Joel on It's a Wonderful Knife and Community and glad he just wants to keep working even though his family feels differently. Joel has enough money to buy humans for sports the nice way.Have a good day.
Fremont, represent!!!
I remember him in ted
Joel just sold a book.
Joel is awesome!
Good show.
very nice!
Ok, here's all the answers to the ADHD questions you guys posed. First off, Hi Michael, I played football with you back in 2005 in LA, I was friends with Jean Paul. Anyways. The reason you have to see the lines and why you lose them when they are throwing them at you is because working memory is shot when it comes to ADHD. Imagine holding a ball in each hand and someone gives you a third ball and you drop the second ball to hold the third ball. You've now forgotten the second ball. ADHD brains can only hold so many things at once and a new thing will replace another thing in short term memory/working memory. Joel (and Michael), the reason you fell asleep on adderall is because, with a lot of people that have ADHD but not all of them, stimulants have the opposite effect on us. Caffeine makes us sleepy and so does adderall (a stimulant). That's probably why they have you on Wellbutrin, a SSRI/antidepressant, because it's not a stimulant and is an off label treatment for ADHD. We also have a hard time self judging/self examining so when it comes to "I don't know if it's working" best consult your loved ones to see if they notice a difference in you. Also, 45mg of adderall is WAY too high as a starter dose, should be more like 15-25mg. Joel, you may actually be a better candidate for Vyvanse than you are for adderall. (source: 30 years of studying ADHD medical publications and medical studies)
Very great info!
When is Nicholas Hoult coming?
That’s wild, Rosey and I are on the same medication!
Ha! I owned a Ford Aspire in 1997. It was purple and I had to fix the "spoiler" with checkered shelving paper.
Loved him in the Eric Bana possession movie.
Joel will never see this, but just in case: Adhd commonly is diagnosed alongside depression and anxiety, though how the relationship between them works is still unclear. Also falling asleep on a stimulant when you have ADHD is not surprising, stimulants affect people with ADHD differently, so instead of getting amped up, it brings a sense of calm. These are obviously general statements, but obviously it's not a "one size fits all" situation. Wellbutrin did nothing good for me, Dexedrin made me not eat to the point of nearly killing me, but I've known other people who do well on it 🤷♂️
That part where Joel spoke a bit about how he pursued his wife, so sweet!!
Great episode. Mr. Rosenbaum I'd buy a lottery ticket to come to your horror nights. I'm a fan of the genre.
Da Best!!!
Two and a half minutes the video still hasn't started
I have a K5 blazer 😁 love it
28:50 - Michael, that is the perfect description of my own lifestyle goals. Just enough to keep my stress levels as low as possible.
Pickleball!? Have you heard of Spikeball (Roundnet)? BTW I visited Bainbridge plenty of times when I lived in Seattle, lots of fun had on the island.
Its funny chevy is described as being miserable on set cuz i thought he was hilarious on that show. His lines were so funny i cant believe he didnt find them funny
Joel McHale...man of a million yachts. 😂
Didn't know Joel was a car person, the raimi car is a Oldsmobile Delta 88 also if the battery is dead after not driving it a while you probably have something that draws a current while it's off or just bad alternator which easy way to check that is to get a voltage meter that just plugs into the 12v socket for like the lighter
Cars are a form of art. I had a 86 5.0 mustang and a 2003 f150 long bed manual transmission 4x4. I loved having a car and truck. Now I’m married and drive a 430i coupe and my wife drives a Buick enclave. Being in my late 40’s safety became prioritized over chaotic fun jumping dunes in the truck and racing the mustang. Now it’s all about preparing for a kid. Evidently my life of only owning 2 door cars and trucks are going to end when we have a kid. It’s going to be weird driving a 4 door.
Megan Fox on this podcast will be 🔥🔥🔥
Such a GREAT interview.
I miss The Soup!
I desperately need to see that Ford Aspire commercial.
Enjoy how random, but yet how jamming these two guys are, just two bros talking about whatever and keeping the flow. “Eat steaks?” “”Yes!” “Love you.” 😅 👍🏼
I'm waiting for construction sounds to come up next..... #streaming 🤣
I am indeed a big Joe McHale fan.
ROSENCON almost killed me lmao
39:30 powerless automaton moment
Some advanced cutting around the Chevy fights I feel....
Sick Michael! I'm writing a horror show! writing bros! lol
Joel Mchale is streets ahead
