My father worked on and helped developed the tornado and euro fighter engines, rip dad.
He's a hero
@@thekingofbinweevils649 thank you! He would of laughed calling him a hero, your comment as made my day. Cheers
a true hero :) RIP
He worked on the jet engen for one of the best fighter's though
My Grandfather was a test engineer developing the Harrier, built and maintained the prototypes.
The Typhoon in Battle of Britain livery is a stunning sight to behold!
There wasn’t a typhoon
@@jesspayne5548 What do you call the Eurofighter Typhoon at 5:48 then?
The Typhoon's one of my favorite non-American designs, and it's gorgeous in the livery.
@@jesspayne5548 What?
Wonder if they'll ever paint a 35 in the same colors.
My dad was ground crew in the RAF and worked on F4 Phantoms mainly and was in the Falklands war. Was also part of the Sea King search and rescue team. He also worked on that 1 Lancaster bomber and I had the pleasure of sitting inside it as a child
Great to see my old boi spitfire still hanging in there
I miss it flying for us to make us here today
Hello there obi wan Kenobi, I just found out that captain Vaughn survived the battle of mandalore but ended up in a different galaxy, mind telling Ahsoka since he was in the 332nd
I worked fitting some a/c at BAE at Brough near Hull some years ago. They had one of the Eurofighters in on a jig stress testing the airframe. Fantastic pieces of kit 👌
Odd to think we've more F35s than we do Herckys
Sup
Will have, not all been delivered yet.
@Anglus Patria wtw?
Yay you’re British as well
Anglus Patria mate I see you in all the British related channels and videos. You got discord?
I think the Harrier GR.7 would’ve been a good ‘retired’ addition to the Multirole section, seeing as it was retired not so long ago in 2003
Loved that jet.
It’s sad too see how small our military budgets really is especially with what we have done in the past...
You think *your* military is weak and underfunded compared to its golden years?
*Laughs in South African*
Times have changed, spending has increased with technology demands and the number of units bought have declined. It makes sense, we don't need thousands of aircraft when just a few can do the role of many. If we spent too much money on our military there would be nothing left for the things that really matter in the UK. We still have an elite and highly advanced fighting force should we ever need protecting.
This isn’t the RAF planes
Shadow Lynx these are all aircraft operated or recently retired by the RAF
Thomas Graham Ph.D and yet more effective

LeGIoN8787 do you live in Coningsby by any chance?
The hawker hunter isnt used by the uk anymore instead its ised by a privert company which the MOD hires to act as an aggresor for training
@M S is the spitfire a 30s piece of junk to you then?
@M S a) Hunters are 50s era aircraft
b) They're fitted out with modern electronics i.e. jammers etc. , so I doubt they're that easy to deal with
@M S no shit hunters are close air support aircraft not made for dogfighting
@@yournotgully originally they were strictly a fighter in the F1, F2, F4, F5 and F6 variants. They were first used for ground attack with as the F6 variant, soon to be replaced with the FGA9.
The hawker Hunter produces a great engine note
It just shows how great the spitfire is when it’s like nearly 90 years old and still a few in service
Hurricane was a better plane and actually won the battle of britain. Spitfire was the poster boy, Hurricane did all the homework and got bugger all credit.
It's not in service they fly it as memorial. I'm not even British and I know that lmao
@@shorey66 that's not true, the spitfire was taking on the more advanced aircraft like the bf 109 and the fw 190 whilst the hurricane was used more as an interceptor taking out all the bombers and stukas and occasionally the less advanced fighters or a bf 109 if it had to, that's why it got more kills than the spitfire
@@shorey66 yes, hurricane was the backbone of the RAF during Bob, but performance wise, it was simply inferior to the spitfire. They struggled against 109 in 1940, let alone the later fighters.
My grandpa lives up near lake windermere and everytime we go up there we always see them training and it is so amazing to watch.
My dad worked on the harrier, he programmed the flight computers. He also worked on the vulcans in the mid 80’s.

All of them completely retired of any military duty on 2011 as late
The harrier is a classic
@@nikobellic8632 Ok, but the video features ACTUAL RAF aircrafts in service.
I could be the same irrational as you both and start complaining about the lack of legendary planes like the Lightning, the Spitfire, the Hurricane and the Lancaster along with others. But they aren't there for that aforementioned reason.
@Jamie O'Neill Because hes reading from the Wikipedia source which includes private groups as well, that operate older Jets. The Harrier on the other hand is completely scrapped
@@scottworley1479 F15 are brilliant planes no doubt about it but I think the Harrier at the same time although inferior in most ways to the F15 was best for Britain mainly because of its VTOL capability on small British carriers.
For land based stuff the Panavia Tornado was quite a good interceptor at the time.
I would say the Eurofighter Typhoon is a better air to air fighter than an F15 although the F15 as a strike fighter is still better.
F22 is the best at everything but it's too expensive.
I love this, as a British Military enthusiast and as a Bond fan.
me 2 ! Tracking HMS Queen Elizabeth 😁
6:04 should keep at least 1 squad...
Germany is retiring theirs aswell plus its all 80's equipment
PENGUIN CAT yes but they should keep a squadron for airshows and stuff like that
Helen Ward why? Extra money spent on something that’s not necessary. Typhoon display team can wow the crowds. And it’s not like they’ve got rid of them all, some RAF tornados will be sat in some RAF hangar somewhere, it’s just they’re not in military service

To all those brave british fighters who fought in the Battle of Britain May you rest in peace❤ 🇬🇧🇬🇧
For such a small nation, the UK blows my mind how it’s at the forefront of technology. Respect from the US.
@superdug Britain is small geographically, it's smaller than France, Germany, Italy and a lot more nations, it's just very densely populated
@superdug it does actually, if Britain was the same size as America it would have never stopped being the world superpower, there would be a lot more resources, a lot more resources means a bigger population, a bigger population means bigger military that can hold the colonies easier a bigger population also equals more Money, geographical size is a major factor in the power of a country, that's why USA is a superpower, why china is a superpower, why India is growing to become a superpower, and why Russia used to be a superpower. It used to be a lot easier when you could just go around colonising everyone, but those times are behind so geographical size, mixed with fertile land (which Britain has a lot of so does India and all the other large countries) are all that's important in being able to become a superpower
@superdug oh Jesus, you aren't the smartest are you? People usually don't tend to like being ruled over by other people, do they? Especially not people from different countries with different languages and cultures, the population of Britain wasn't high enough to hold onto a quarter of the world with growing tensions about colonies and growing independence movements, that's why Britain gave all it colonies up and also it was quite broke after ww2 so a Britain with a population like 10x the size with a far bigger military far more loyal people and far more money could have very easily held onto all it's colonies. Land isn't helpful when all the people inside it hate you and you no longer have the military nor the money to hold onto it
@ian 1 also Germany has a larger population and economy because it's bigger and a bit more fertile, thats why it was the up and coming superpower before ww1 and why it could be so strong in ww2 it just doesn't have a large military anymore because they have been forced to demilitarise mostly and also their government doesn't want to re arm at all
@ian 1 Germany as peaked, that's why they are facing a birth crisis, when populations get richer they start having less children Germany has peaked economically, there isn't very much room for growth anymore. Canada sells its food off to a bunch of other countries because it doesn't need much which in turn helps it grow economically and slows down its birth rate, countries like India and Brazil don't have this problem because they aren't that developed yet so it means people are having more children than they would in places like Germany, they also have a lot of fertile land to feed these populations, big populations lead to economic growth that's why Brazil and India are in a great place to become superpower there economy will grow until all their citizens are rich and then they'll peak, just like Germany but at a higher level because they are larger with bigger populations and more fertile land
Thank You.. Love the video.

It gets a different name in RAF service.
SvenTviking ah I see
You forgot about the Grob Tutor's that are used for basic flight training the MOD has 94+ for the RAF, RN and Army.
0:22 Thats a Pilatus PC-21 not a T-6 Texan
Luka_vsc no they look similar but look at cockpit there’s a difference
@@haixedits3948 There is a difference, but it's still a Pilatus PC-21. The wings of the Pilatus PC-21 have a distinct but slight swept-back leading edge compared to the Texan's. The Texan's tail slightly resembles a P51D's, in that it sits straight up compared to the angled tail rudder of the Pilatus.
It lists the P8 Poseidon as the replacement for the Sentinel, which is wrong.
The P8 is the long long long awaited replacement of the Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft
Can you make french tank seize of ww2?
Char B1 is a badass tank
I am a Air cadet apart of the 723 squadron and when I first joined they mentioned I would get a chance of flying the glider trainer and if I get a excellent score and pass I would get the chance to fly solo and do my own radio transmissions, I am getting increasingly close to that chance and I can’t wait.
Too many bonds in this video.

Man Britain has really fallen short in terms of military power. Went from being the most powerful empire in the world, with the biggest navy the planet has ever seen, to this. After World War 2 everything seems to have just hit the brakes
We were making more planes than the Americans after ww2...
Winston Churchill Well, are you sure about that?US had largest aviation industry during WW2 and after WW2 by far.İn fact they built more aircraft than Soviet Union and UK combined during WW2.
@@AFT_05G the British made better planes than the amercains in the 1960s and 50s. English Canberra English electric lighting, vulcan, Victor, hunter, metor etc.... But thats what i've been told.. I could be right or wrong
@@AFT_05G and im not saying the amercains made bad planes. Most of them are brilliant just saying that Britain made good planes before the Americans..
That's what happens when you bank role the protection of your Empire and allies. After WW1 we were struggling to run the empire and then when Germany decided to be a Numpty again, was basically the last nail in the coffin. The USA profited massively from the UK in both wars, we basically handed over the baton of super power with our gold supplies.
Still, we are just a small Island chain on the edge of Europe with a fraction of the population of the USA and still in the top 5 richest countries on earth, we aren't doing too bad.
This bit of fun makes me think there need to be a "Airplanes of Bond" video which features the airplanes that appear in the Bond movies. Some to include would be a Lockheed Jetstar and Piper Cherokee (both Goldfinger), the BD-1J from Octopussy, the Wallis Autogyro WA-116 "Little Nellie" from You Only Live Twice and even the Avro Vulcan from Thunderball. Come on, you know that sounds like fun!

WK450 aka the Watchkeeper Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) is not used by the RAF it is used by 47 Regt Royal Artillery, British Army. although the system is now fully declared in operation there was a time where the system going to be used by the RAF originally, however because they already have Reaper MQ-9 and the Army had lost it’s major UAS system PHEONIX in 2012 there was a gap in the army’s STA capability so therefore WK450 was procured for the Army and utilised by the Royal Artillery as part of Joint Helicopter Command Bde other than that very good capability video :)
