Noel produced powerful anthems, slow soulful acoustic stuff and everything in between and it was mostly about being young and fucked with little hope but still enjoying life and being happy to be alive. Rock n Roll Star, LIve Forever, Cigs n Alcohol..... great tunes. The lyrics may be strange when you look at them under a microscope but anyone can see and feel the meaning. Now contrast that with bilge like Ed Sheeran clogging up the charts. Castle on a hill? Fuck right off.
You won't find one person on this earth that can't relate to at least one Oasis song. This is music in its purest form and if Noel and Liam patched their shit up, they'd walk into the charts, cigarette in Liam's hand, guitar in Noel's and blow people's minds all over again.
this song is a sort of thanks to a friend he met at an oasis show not long before he made an emotional descision to quit in 94. she hung out with him and ended up talking him into going back to the band. i read in some book a while back she really liked snapple strawberry lemonade, hence that line. Maybe his stuff's 'not quite bob dylan' in your opinion, but its from the heart and I cant get enough of it.
Amazing how only one guy with his guitar can make a performance like that of a song that he wrote on his own that is talent not all this new singers that have loads of eletronic backups and whole band behind them and sing the songs that they were told to sing
This song is so beautiful... It pulled me through some of the harder situations in my life, and it has become one of the loves of my life. I will always remember this song whether I'm going through hard times or not. And Noel sitting on his stool, playing his nice 12-string to this song only makes it better. I was listening to this song one day before I was leaving town for a month and I was talking with my girlfriend saying goodbye to her and I was listening to it for the first time. For the first time in my life the lyrics grew on me like I was saying that song! "I'll never say that I won't ever make you cry and this I say I don't know why, I know I am leaving but I'll be back another day!" I bursted with tears almost instantly! And now I miss her so much this song keeps me company tonight!

This concert is on the dvd "Live by the sea" When he starts playing the song "D´yer wanna be a spaceman", he makes a mistake in the middle of the song and he has to stop singing. After a few laughs, he starts playing "Talk tonight" and at the end he says sorry, for the mistake with the previous song. Maybe you can find that clip here on youtube
