You should watch the video of Donguri doing combos with his hands being shown. It’s crazy, he uses his left thumb on the thumb stick like normal and he’s changing styles with his fucking INDEX FINGER.
Lucifer blades that are impaled on enemies detonate after 10 seconds. Blades that are just floating on the air detonate after 6 seconds. So, what sakaki does is doing a count down right after impaling an enemy to properly chain combos.

I wasn't the biggest fan of DMC4, especially after the awesomeness that was DMC3:SE; but I find myself going back to DMC4 combo videos in prepartion for the Special Edition. :p
I've always wondered: is the Real Impact not that flashy of a move or sth? I've never seen it in action at all in these combo vids. I mean sure all the style-switching and warping and dashing and punching and kicking and shooting and stinging is nice to look at, but sometimes I feel like ending it all with the Real Impact would look good too. Or too simple?
Sakaki does use them, like in "combo mad Remake" Real Impact just does way too much damage and isn't really interesting of a move compared to other things, at least not enough to be used more often than other ones. You could use it as a finisher, but it really doesn't look as good as a finisher imo, it's not as complete as DMC3 with tornado (and there are many interesting kinds of finishers).
yungsh0w It's been a while since the last time I played, but I believe you can do that just by releasing attack button (triangle was it?) - you stay on the ground, and it's highly possible you can do a few of those launches in quick succesion
yungsh0w He's simply not holding the button for high time to go airborne and relying on a detonating shard from Lucifer to knock the enemy back down into the next high time. Most of these combos are practiced enough to know the timing of such things. Occasionally the uploader will include a blooper reel of some of the attempts that didn't work out. Most of the time when you see damage on the player's health it's due to being careful to kill all enemies except the one you want to record the combo on without damaging it first. While certainly impressive it's not like these players do this stuff routinely while playing normally. Again impressive combos but still choreographed and staged.
