The room drum fight in Demon Slayer is super fun and overshadowed by the String fight. I love me some string powers. But that room fight is so fun. It’s the fight that sold me on the show. If I wasn’t day crashed I’d use my epic writing powers to explain why.

The thing with filler is that it absolutely should be part of the judging process since the people who watched it while it was airing had to watch it. I watched all the filler in Naruto as a child before I realized that crap had nothing to do with the plot.
I agree with the violet evergarden take but it's mostly because it's only 12,13 episodes. The melodrama is way too short for me to feel anything. The development of VE was too fast imo

That’s the worst anime hot take he had in this video. He said season 1 and 2 are boring! Like wtf. The only season that was boring in some parts was part 1 of season 3 and parts of season 4. Season 4 was my least favorite, though. I just did not care about the the new characters like Gabi and a few others. It just made me wish I could be back with Mikasa, Armin, and Levi the whole time.
Man I could write a literal thesis on why violet evergarden contains some of the best depictions of loss and it's various effects on individuals specifically the alcoholic brother with survivors guilt, the loss of your child with the father author and planning for your child's well being after dying of terminal illness. Some stuff like the observatory and war sequences can definitely be defined as "spoon feeding artificial emotions" but the ones I've pointes out are real tough to argue it's anything less than a gripping and accurate depiction of those types of traumas and the pain they cause to all involved. Hell the brother spilling the wine on himself after falling from the couch was such a convincing depiction of the lowest points in addiction it'd be hard to believe the author hasn't been directly affected by similar circumstances at one point or another.

Regarding the Rohan take, I don't think he's the worst character, but he's pretty ight imo. He was like this bitter character who just felt too weird in the beginning, and then he just mellowed to an 'eh character. 'I don't see the appeal in him, but TSRK is fun.

Attack on Titan definitely was a great journey from the beginning. It was intense throughout all 4 seasons .
Lemme get one in: Sakura is a better match for Shirou over Rin. Both are broken individuals due to CJ childhood trauma yet they are able to acknowledge their pain and faults due to the relationship they have with eachother. Sakura helps Shirou finally get over his self sacrificing-ness through her actions in Heaven’s Feel and Shirou managed to save her heart through his. Where Rin does eventually help Shirou not end up like Archer, Shirou doesn’t really do much for her besides make her less of an asshole

I'd like to comment in the Rohan take, while he's not the worst character, he's not great either. Just okay. To be honest Abbacchio is the much more interesting type of "fuck the mc" character because Giorno's resolve and dedication reminds him of his mistakes and his deceased partner from his days working for the police.

Great vid. I gotta say, there are many Interesting opinions floating around. But my hot take, one piece is kinda overrated and pretty boring. There’s just SO much exposition it’s just hard to get through it. I gave up on dressrosa so I’m sticking to manga. Like don’t get me wrong, I like long running anime(and one piece has many great moments) but this one wasn’t it. I guess I just have a shitty taste in anime😂
I think the thing with AOT is, that even though I feel it has the best fucking writing in any anime (I would say manga too but Berserk and Vagabond are just *chef kiss*) it can get boring. The show overall is great no doubt, but yeah it can fall off in some areas. But I have yet to see any anime surpass AOT in how good it's writing is, if anyone has any other opinion then please share it with me as I would like to hear other's opinions and also the anime/manga you're talking about.

Agreed. I also don't understand why people hate on it so much. I mean the reason why they should not is clearly explained in the best take of this video (you know the one). Demon Slayer isn't SUPPOSED to be something unique or overly complex and new. It just comes knowing it has to present a simple yet sweet story and it does that flawlessly. That's why you cannot judge it based on how original it is, or hell, you cannot judge ANY series based on how original it is. People who find cliches and not-totally-unique series themselves boring have a shallow mindset. There. I said it.

personally I think demon slayer is adequate but not a necessarily "good". The visuals are great, but as you said, the plot is a bit, er... average. It's quite stereotypical and predictable, but they execute it pretty well. My main problem with it is the characters and the humor. Inosuke and Zenitsu are just loud and annoying, and most of the comedy scenes are just really cringe and immature... Not to mention the random plot convenience asspulls like the part in the third season where inosuke prevented his death by moving his organs or something...

What you said about the payoff being sweet but the journey is boring is kind of like one piece. There are certain islands and arcs that seem absolutely unimportant to the story and dragged out to just show how amazing the world building in one piece is. When you finally reach the pinnacle of it you kinda miss all the easy going times.
I have one, one piece is overhyped because the pacing is garbage and the fan base is even worse, this is why I could never get fully into it

@@xM1ni the anime basically adapts 1 chapter per episode. The pacing is a little better at the start but that's pretty much it. Obviously it doesn't take 20min to read a chapter so yeah, the pacing is much better in the manga overall.

Oh damn disappointed I missed this. My hot take: Yukako is one of the worst jojo characters and by extension most yandere characters. They're not cute, they're creepy and if you swapped the genders you would realise just how bad the trope is. The Cinderella arc by extension is my most hated Jojo arc and possibly the only one I actually dislike. I also think that a lot of part 4 villains including Yukako got off way too lightly, while the guy who got turned into a book for all eternity did not deserve his fate.

I have a hot take; Slice of Life is way better at character writing than any Shounen anime. SoL anime are focused on characters and their interactions, they’ll have a 3 episode arc that leads to realistic and genuine development versus a 20 episode arc that leads to superficial development. That’s not an absolute, but longer shounen series are really bad at concise development. And you wait for 5 episodes in there where literally nothing happens.
My hot take is that boruto is pretty ok, not good or bad. Just ok to the point im excited for next episode

I think Spirited Away is a good movie, but it's definitely not worthy of an Oscar, even If you believe the Oscars don't mean anything with which I agree, It's just so hard to believe that Spirited Away got an Oscar, but yet movies like Hotarubi no mori e, Kimi no nawa, Koe no Katachi or Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai didn't get one

As for Rezero I actually don't think Emelia is best Waifus nor is it Rem but actually Satella. I'm talking about Satella not the witch of envy as those are 2 separate characters. In a world where Subaru has been sacrificing himself for everyone and everything Satella is the first ever person to tell him to love himself. Sure Rem and Emelia are also great emotional support but Subaru has gotten himself through many forms of pain saving them and convincing himself that it's worth it because he emotionally relies on them but then Satella reminds him that one of the only support you can rely on is yourself.

I mean that's not really a hot take. There are a lot of people who like something based on how unique and different it is. And for them and many others for that matter My War is justifiably the favourite opening. Not just because of the animation, but the song in general is the most unique opening song I've heard in a long time. So yeah that's not a really bad take.
