    Is that a lore cat? I approve.

      I REALLY love their style (especially over 👀 others' styles of say, rambling about how much headcanons annoy them or long tirades about misinformation every 5mins 😉)

    Worth noting that Eros's abilities are also references to Cerberus's in World of Darkness, like Hound out of Heaven being the same as Hound out of Hell and Glossolalia being the same as Ululation!

    Every Cerberus boss in the game (there are several) does a rush attack called "Hound out of Hell", which they changed to Heaven for the lightwarden.

    Fun fact: The breaking wheel attack of Storge is called "Blutadler" (Blood Eagle). I guess most of you people know that thing from some rather well-known viking show

    This series going into the concepts behind the enemies and attacks has been rather enjoyable! FF has always been a franchise that takes ideas and inspiration from real world mythology and religion and apply them intelligently and thoughtfully. Excellent job!

    Scavenger's Daughter surprised me. I did not know it was a torture device.

    • @Ailuromage
      @Ailuromage  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yes. It's widely credited from 16th century England. The device itself restrains and kind of "folds" the person as it tightens.
      There are so many devices out there, though some have been proven to be fictional creations in stories and in other literature. But, the Scavenger Daughter is one that is pretty well supported as being a real method that was practiced.

    The internet can pretend the wooden horse is some BDSM but its origin was pain inducing, much like the other devices. Its made to be long lasting excruciating pain.

    • @Ailuromage
      @Ailuromage  6 месяцев назад

      I think all of these things have probably been used some way or another in BDSM but yeah, obviously they were intended to be awful. Humans find a way I suppose 😹

    • @EmperorPylades
      @EmperorPylades 6 месяцев назад

      It all comes down to the weight used and the duration. Importantly, horses used for BDSM tend to have a narrow rail the 'rider' can put their heels on for support.

    • @elgatochurro
      @elgatochurro 6 месяцев назад

      @@EmperorPylades yeah that's a big difference from the actual torture device

    • @elgatochurro
      @elgatochurro 5 месяцев назад

      @@EmperorPylades like the cross would be far less torturous if you could sit. The cross is meant to have your own weight harm you

    there are a lot of hints that ascension is to make new sin eaters, how else would they be able to make such large quantities of Meol without a ready supply of Sin Eaters to carve up. though its commonly though that the warbler is the musical sin eater end dungeon boss but theres also the idea that it is the person she was hired to replace since her sponsor was already well versed in the idea of ascension because he either has second hand or personal knowledge about it enough to suggest it as an option. theres no definitive proof for either theories though.

    I am Christian but catholicism is totally strange to me. So, I really appreciate these interpretations. Vauthry as Agape makes much more sense this way.
