That is a great creative question and I am glad you are sharing your experiments on this matter with us, this water bottle looks absolutely stunning! I want to share a different experiment just to share another experience for those interested, I wanted to dtf some of those wooden keychains with a leather band, they sell those for laser engraving, and the dtf was difficult to stick to it, and it tended to shrink a bit before getting stuck, and the edges tended to roll and lift. I was able to do one that came out well after about 4 attempts...and I clear coated it to make it last. I think the problem was the dtf powder, it was too elastic to stick to a hard surface that had some coating already.. maybe a different powder would work better on these wood peaces.

We did use dtf powder. It will not adhere without it.
