    Rooting for your sobriety Tana.
Childhood trauma directly relates to alcoholism, and unfortunately, people who can't just have one drink typically can never have just one drink.
I know the feeling and it sucks, but being sober will always do you more favors than being drunk and I'm still struggling with that too.
    Good luck ♥

I don’t think a Tana video has ever made me feel quite this sad. Hearing her describe that unfixable hangover, the fear she felt, crying and calling 911. It shocked me when Brooke said “isn’t that just alcoholism” and tana actually said yeah. Longtime viewers of Tana can probably tell she has a serious problem, but she’s always seen her situation as different from Trevi’s, and it’s not like you can reach through the comment section and give her a shake. I just want her to be okay.

i hope the clarity she felt during her first round of 75 Hard and the comparison she has drinking before and after the 75 Hard really makes her reconsider what she wants to be doing. i hope trevi talks to her soon and they can compare experiences. i just want tana to feel her best! drinking can be soo fun in the moment but there comes a time when you have to reconsider if it’s worth the suffering that always follows. i’m rooting for tana always and i hope she knows most of her supporters/viewers are too 🤍🤍🤍

What Tana was describing around 58:01 sounds like alcohol withdraws, she was detoxing. Which is so dangerous and scary, I’m glad she pulled through but that’s something you should probably be in hospital for. It sounds like a mild case but for severe alcoholic detox withdrawls can be fatal. So glad tanas making the choice to be sober.

I have ADHD and similar problems with alcohol that Tana does. The low dopamine problem makes us susceptible not only to addictive behaviour (because it gives us a dopamine hit) but it also makes us prone to overindulgence with anything; food, alcohol, drugs, sex, etc. I developed an arrhythmia and am on meds I am not supposed to drink on but kept doing it despite the risks. So after a series of bad decisions while drunk and a BAD hangover..... I am trying to stay sober from alcohol now. I do genuinely feel better. Do not miss those heart palpitation hangovers. Sober Tana all the way!

Tana you’ve been my Shane for years. Usually I’m not one to comment but seeing your progress within the last 2 years and then watching this episode changed something. Thank you for being so open and vulnerable about your relationship with alcohol. Hearing about your hangover is so so so concerning and I mean this in the most understanding, supporting way possible. As an outsider LA seems like such an enabling environment for substance abuse, since everyone and their grandma is doing something. It gives me so much hope that you actually see the need for change! Also, while I’m at it, whoever said 75 Hard but with MEN, or women for that matter, I couldn’t agree more. You deserve to be happy AND stay happy in the long run!! ❤️ sending a big virtual hug from across the planet, to Brooke as well 🫶🏻

dear tana🥺it’s refreshing to hear you’re trying a sober era again. i’m in mine right now and i’m literally 21 lmao but sometimes it’s just like that. just know, you’re definitely better than you might think sometimes if you can actively make the decision for yourself- that you need sobriety rn for whatever reasons. some people really don’t put their career first or mental or physical health first. some people really will choose alcohol over everything and loose so much. you got this! it’s your personal choice to keep it in your life, maybe you just need to reevaluate your relationship with it. and your brand has kind of been built around having fun and being that person but a lot of us will still be here through whatever you choose. we like you for you. not just because you know how to have a good time🥺🩷don’t feel pressured into any decision because it really is all in your control and about making the life you want for YOURSELF. you got this babe.

Hi Tana!! I wanted to shed some light and insight on the "chemical imbalance" you're describing in regards to alcoholism. I have a masters degree in clinical psychology, and therefore wanted to share with you some of the science behind what you're talking about :)
First of all, I just want to say that you have already accomplished the bravest step in getting control over it and that is awareness and simply acknowledging that there is something problematic about how you are drinking. You had described the feeling of not being able to control or moderate your alcohol consumption and therefore leads to you needing to drink more and more and more. There is in fact, a chemical imbalance that occurs for people who struggle with drinking. A lot of studies show that drinking can cause a change in the way certain important brain chemicals function. Drinking can cause these chemicals to become imbalanced. There are four main neurotransmitters that are affected when drinking alcohol. The first one is called GABA or Gamma-amniobutyric acid. Drinking depresses the central nervous system by increasing the levels of this chemical. This contributes to feelings of being relaxed, or tired while drinking. The next one is called Glutamate. Drinking suppresses the levels of this chemical which revs up the central nervous system under normal circumstances. As a result, the central nervous system is further depressed. Since alcohol represses the glutamate levels, learning and memory functions are compromised as well as the sleep-wake cycle manager. The next two chemicals are essential when analyzing somebody who has an addiction to drugs and alcohol, and are responsible for how addiction manifests. Those two chemicals are Dopamine and Serotonin. As a chemical, that is part of the brains reward system, dopamine is triggered by drinking leading to a feel good state, and desire to keep drinking. Serotonin levels are increased, which is linked to a sense of well being and good mood. Both dopamine and serotonin are the most powerful and influential chemicals with addiction creating an extremely reinforcing cycle. Since those two chemicals are activated in high levels, people will yearn for those feelings more and more. As you can imagine, when your brain recognizes that drinking alcohol will increase these chemicals, your brain will require more and more of the substance to increase more and more of the chemicals, creating and possibly causing Alcohol Use Disorder.
Trying to connect all of this to someone who has experienced childhood trauma, or complex PTSD (which is when somebody experience trauma over years and years). Those who have experienced adverse childhood experiences, one being childhood trauma, have a greater likelihood in developing an alcohol dependence. This is mainly because no one modeled healthy coping skills as a child, and therefore you sought out a way to protect yourself. Also, it is likely that alcoholism was present in your environment, which can lead to a genetic predisposition or modeled behvior of how to cope. Trauma in general sets us up for a lot of difficulties in our life. One of them being the inability to feel safe as a child. As a child, you are forming your thoughts and beliefs about the world around you, the people around you, and of yourself. And if those beliefs are rooted in pain and trauma, your brain will do anything it can to protect you from those negative beliefs. Unfortunately, this can manifest an addiction.
Good luck on everything and your journey. I am so proud of you and have loved and supported you for several years. Lots of love to you. Hugs and kisses.

Tana, I’ve been watching you on RUclips since i was 15/26 years old, and I’m 24. you’re only 6 months older than me, but I just wanted to say that I struggle with a lot of the things that you do, and I’m so proud of you. It’s kinda weird bc i’m in the same stage of life as you rn, when it comes to being sober/ trying to stay sober, figuring out why you are the way that you are learning about yourself, always trying to be a better person, trying to learn how to be alone, how to be the happiest you can be in this life, and etc.
You’ve grown so much as a person, and I’m so fucking proud of you. Always remember to have compassion for yourself and every once in a while notice the progress you’ve made, or if you took a step back, maybe try figure out what happened / what patterns you notice yourself doing and how to try and change / prevent that from happening again. Getting to know the core of who you are & sitting alone in silence with just you and your thoughts can be scary sometimes, especially when you’re doing it purposefully. But it’s worth it, and everyone has their demons. What I’m trying to saying I guess is that the more you look at yourself with less harshness/ judgement, and fear, the more (at least I’m learning to/from my experience), the more you learn to love yourself and have more respect and compassion for yourself.
this was so long lmao but i’m so mf proud of you Tana! ♥️
you deserve to have this self love + sober journey, stay strong 💜
