You are not getting the point are you? 1. We are talking about Carl here and nobody else. 2. was he overprotective with somebody else? nope, unless Judith of course, shes alive isn´t she. 3. Carl doesn´t listen to him and gets bit, Carl should have been protected by his father, due to him not listening to his "overprotective" father he´s going to get himself killed. 4. Carl did this to himself, this shit ain´t Rick´s fault. 5. (If an apocolypse would start wouldn´t you think that parents would be overprotective to their children, if not then you are dumb as hell).
I understand not liking Gimple's decisions, but it is still just a show, nothing personal about it. Calling him piece of shit just because he made a risky move is kind of a piece of shit move.
I agree, but it wasn't just a risky move. Chandler was fired because of money, cuz they were planing on making Carl the "new" Rick Grimes in the future and that's also one of the many reasons of Andrew's departure of the show. It wasn't JUST a risky move, it's unfair to get people fired just because they get older and you have to pay them like any other grown ups.
