This makes me cry every time I hear it. I was such a huge fan of this show. I dedicated 10 years of my life to watching it. Every time Someone died I felt like I lost someone to. This brings me back to when they were all ok. I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into when I turned on this show. I don’t regret it one bit. I felt like I was apart of there family. I’ll never forget this series. Truly one of the best things I have ever watched.
+TheFourthReaper Rumours say with the introduction of Negan (and more importantly Lucille) there's gonna be a major character death around the Season Finale
+TheFourthReaper RIP Shane, Lori, Dale, Sophia, Amy, Andrea, T-Dog, Hershel, Patricia, Beth, the little girls from Woodbury...Governor's daughter (read the novel, so sad...)
This first episode... I can't describe, it's just something else. I remember waching this, i can't breath, so intense, deep, emotional... I LOVE the first season so much!
My girlfriend cried so hard at that scene. I would comfort her. We broke up before finishing the show, and now I will always cry at that scene or when this song plays. I can’t help it. I miss her. I couldn’t back together…
One of the best soundtracks ever. I loved the part where Rick kneels down beside Hannah and says "I'm sorry this happened to you". And then he shoots her with his revolver. You could see the sadness in her eyes, even though she was already a zombie. It's quiet heartbreaking to see Humanity fall like this. After all we've been through, suddenly a virus comes that infects us all and turns us into such Monsters. :(
annlouiseful She's the half body zombie that Rick meets in season 1 and say's "I'm sorry this happened to you", if you watch the webisodes you can find out who she was before she turned. Just search for TWD Webisodes it's the first one called Torn Apart.
+TopPredator Beast And the thing is that the virus is already happening... there are too many polluted people who are like zombies, hating, dividing themselves... as if they were not alive any more.
Me too I think maybe they played it during a sad part of the show when he was trying to shoot his wife that was a zombie and couldn't, they always play it during sad scenes. Assholes! :)
Crazy to think of how long it's been since the first season, I remember watching the First ep at a Friend's house when it first premiered as a nerdy teen into zombies I loved it, reflecting on the different times of my life good and horrible, yet somehow managed to find a way to watch as it always gave me comfort. I hope that when my life flashes before my Eyes this is the song that plays on loop while I watch.
The whole Lizzie thing really disturbed me. Few TV shows can hit me like TWD does. Lori's death, Lizzie killing Mika, Sophia coming out of the barn, Rick's hallucinations, Hershel's death, Andrea's death, all of that. Sure, I hated Lori and Andrea, and I knew Sophia was dead, but it still hit me and made me tear up. TWD is truly a remarkable show for making me able to feel any kind of sadness or emotion over a character I hated or knew to be dead.
this song just makes me think back to season 1 and makes me think about how different the characters are now and how much they have gone through. also reminds me of all the characters who have died (shane, andrea, jim, dale, sophie etc)
Perfect name for the song...the mercy of Rick for the dead bicycle girl and the mercy of Morgan for his dead wife... This was earlier in the walker era, when such things still made a beautiful kind of sense, before death took its toll on both characters' humanity. Damn I love this show.
My girlfriend cried so hard at the scene with Morgan trying to shoot his wife, and I had to comfort her. We broke up before we could finish the show, and now whenever that scene comes on or I hear this song, I cry just as hard. I miss her more than anything. I couldn’t put it back together…
After watching S6 Episode 3, I can't help but listen to this, and it really reminds me how many characters have died throughout the show...The feels are real :'(
+Simona Vanagaitė I gotta admit, it came as a massive shock due to how quickly it just happened. Really not looking forward to more character deaths :/
+MrRepoman197 ironically the showrunner has plans for the show after rick and his group dies. he's thinking of continuing the show for as long as they can but in order to do that they need to kill off the old characters as they have been on the show way too long in a world where people die all the time. and so they will be bringing new characters and making all the new characters from like season 5-6 become the new main characters whilst all the old ones like rick's original group from season 1 and 2 will all eventually die off as the seasons go by. cause the actor for carl is growing up faster than they can make the show so they will have to either kill him off and then rick or kill rick and make him the new main character. cant keep a show about people dying running for over 12 season with the original actors from season 1 still alive xD
Not to be mean but I really didn't care for Dale or his ramblings. I miss the horse that Rick steals from that farm on episode2 I think? I miss all of his horsey noises and the sounds of his hoofs beating on the asphalt.
Whenever i hear this music it makes me think of a post apocalyptic world, one of the last humans on earth, walking around trying to find somebody, something. This music resembles total emptiness, but still some degree of hope, fits perfect for The Walking Dead. Fantastic!
My friends are like: "how do you know the name of the tracks of most OSTs? Who even cares about the soundtrack?" And I reply "I do, because you know what? OST's are a vital part of any video game, Tv show, anime, film. They emphasise the emotion of the scenes, and make the programme more memorable. And to be honest, I just like listening to music that I associate with great scenes."
Makes me smile and happy that you're reminded of the happy moments you had with your dad back then. That's the same feeling I get for my boyfriend who died 2 years ago, this song is magic.
This makes me so sad and gives me so much nostalgia of season 1. I started watching TWD in 8th grade and I would sit on my grandmas couch in July and watch it. Reminds me of simple times. This track especially reminds me of the scene of Morgan upstairs telling Duane to stay out downstairs while he shoots Jenny from the window :(
This brings back good memories. This show, in Atlanta gave me a creepy feeling but like a sunny creepy feeling. It was sunny out and it reminds me of the old times of the show.
I listen to this every time I feel depressed(which is allot of the time) although it makes me more sad, in some ways it makes me think more, inspire me to carry on and makes me think of the happy days...
I Love the part when Rick talk's to the Zombie Woman and kill it, if you see the webisodes, you gonna know what is her history and why she suffer so much.
The walking dead truly changed my mind, my life, and who I trust. I used to trust a friend who used me, I stopped trusting him and he made fun of me on TikTok. I walked everyday alone wondering is life worth living. I watched the series of the walking dead and I was depressed because some people died for no reason. When I played telltales the walking dead, I cried because Lee got infected. I had to let clementine shoot, what's the point in not shooting lee, he is going to get shot anyways. Shane's Death was probably the single most epic death of a character in a series to date. Not in the traditional sense of course. Hard to put into words all the things that happened during those few scenes, conveyed with very few words. I didn't like Shane a lot but I had sympathy for him and at the very end he showed why that wasn't misplaced. And Rick, well, that was his first step out of his goody two shoes.
Wonderful music. The Walking Dead has one of the most beautiful soundtracks I have ever heard. Sad, dramatic, dark, scary sometimes, fitting for every little scene!
It made me sad that despite his best efforts pretty much everyone that Rick cared for minus mishone, judith, carol, and morgan got killed. Even his family. And yet, he kept going. This show is something special.
This song is so beautiful :) Does anyone know other music like this? The closest I know is a soundtrack from Halo 2 called High Charity which is also very relaxing and beautiful in my opinion.
When the man that rescued Rick was upstairs with the rifle, his wife in his scope and could not pull the trigger, anyone else wonder what they would do in that situation? I really don't know, I really don't.
The 1st of its kind , zombie show . It started a trend with zombie themes this is hands down the best of them I still miss Glen 🥹 his death was so jarring.
This show on Sunday eves lets me escape from the workweek and just be entertained. The music, characters, suspense of knowing one bite and they could be gone, always try to imagine if I would survive in a real scenario of this type, wow.
I always get reminded of my granddad who died a few years ago when I hear this. He was a WW2 fighter pilot and I kept this one old photo of him beside his P-51 on a sunny day in 1944, smiling gently, wearing his flight suit and headgear. It's my favorite photo of him. Me and my grandmom cherish it very much.
Been watching this show since it premiered, but when I watched episode 1 over again recently and paid better attention to the syncing of this music with the scene where he is saying to that zombie "i'm sorry this happened to you, etc...", it really struck a chord. Subtle and perfect use of this track to give that part the emotional impact it needed.
this music is perfection for a zombie serie. The calm of the beat suggest us the atmosphere of what we could call the end of civilisation. But in the same time you got this little sound, like a voice far away as if there were still a hope. Sorry for my bad english, hope you understood
Carol loved Lizzie and Mika as if they were her daughters, and I believe that she blamed herself for Mika's death because Lizzie had already shown signs that she was no longer coping with reality. Ironically, Carol thought that Mika was the weaker of the two sisters and kept telling Mika that she had to be strong to survive when ultimately it ended up being Lizzie who wasn't strong mentally. As a previous poster mentioned below, Lizzie didn't "deserve" to die. She was a child who couldn't cope with the horrible reality and had a mental breakdown. Unfortunately though, because she was so unstable, Lizzie had to die. Carol knew she had no choice but to shoot Lizzie out of mercy because no one would ever be safe around Lizzie, and she certainly would never survive on her own.

Sadly this will end season 11. We won't see rick, Maggie and the best of the characters ever again. It's been a good time.
