I’ve learned more effective lifting in the last year of watching Mike’s videos than I have in my entire lifetime, I think. It’s truly amazing how much you can learn for free on RUclips - as long as you’re listening to the right people!
I love the way that the camera is so close that you can't see the lifter's full body. Also, it's great to see two people having a conversation, but the camera is so close that it has to swing back and forth from one speaker to another--instead of showing both people and holding the camera stationary. Makes a lot of sense.
Touching a certain amount of weight each day. Good reason to incorporate some dead hangs daily. Pro Tip! Mike is so cool it's chill to hang out with him in his element with like minded iron enthusiasts.
Great work out as usual. I have a question... I'm 50 now. 5'10", 225LB. Would say quite athletic. Lately I'm having problems with my elbow joints. So called tennis elbow and golfers elbow. So, what do you do... how do you prevent your joints from any injuries or problems, wearing out. Thanks Mike.
mike has a video where he does single arm tricep extension on a cable machine to help with elbow pains. Using a band to do these is also pretty decent. I had really bad golfers elbow for a while and realized that doing thumb under on back squats made all the difference. I was aggravating my elbow every time I squatted. Havent had it since switching my thumb position
@@StrangestSecretSociety great advice Martin. Yes, 200-205 is and was the best for me. Trying to get back to 200 without loosing the size. Not very successful at 50 to be honest. But slowly and surely trying to loose my one big pack
I'm 47 and virtually the same size as you. I wear football gloves always when I lift. Preferably gloves that have tack vs a cutter glove. Also I use dumbbells whenever possible vs a barbell.
I can't agree more with O'Hearn's methodology here. Go do good form and lighter weights and get a "sick pump". See if you grow and get stronger - NO. Now, go kill it, most sets to failure 3-5 reps, and see if you get bigger and stronger. Hmmm Yep
People that only do moderate weight and hogh reps only look good in the gym and with certian light and angles. But people who really develope strenght and power get dense muscle that looks good even without pump or good angles and stuff you can just see they are strong as hell
Next time I have a cramp...I will ask a lady to help me not a huge monster. .lol...With the close grip should elbows tucked in close to the lats and the bar coming down to the lower chest ?I can see in the video elbows are more away from the lats..Thank you for saying what is the best way..
Even if he is wide his elbows are more outward the body like a chest press, visually his chest contracts a lot more than the triceps the last feet. I did the same for years until I put a sling to tuck the elbows closer to the body and hell of a more burn
The camera is so close to the speaker that you can't see most of his body, and you also can't see the exercise machine that he's talking about. Always shove a camera right in the speaker's face, I always say.

Have you tried glucosamine as a daily supplement? It's great for joint health. I'm pretty sure Mike uses it everyday.
