I would look at the result if mtb was driving along a road and a road bike over rough terrain.
Rip road bike
Swap routes, roadbike on trail and mountain bike on road for a real test :)
The MTB route looks quite doable on a gravel bike. And an MTB on roads, well, it's just slower, so what's the point?
@@jochenkraus7016 "doable" lol
@@jochenkraus7016 I will be damned you outrun me on your gravelbike on that mtb route even when given only 25km and I have to take the 50km road.
@@dinoXAs2 Dunno why you're laughing, that's completely correct.
@@dinoXAs2 Inorite? Dude was grinding in low gear in some sections and got stuck in a bog. Good luck trying that route on 25mm slicks and road bike gearing
Both cyclists have different kind of challenging adventure on there way to the finish line. I enjoyed watching from start to finish.
10:36 That's why I'm hesitating between mountain biking and road biking
Did u get mtb (my preferred bike)
Hello guys, my name is Steven I'm from a small town called Ypsilanti in Michigan U.S.!! great race guys!! I enjoyed it!! And just figured out I'm slightly quicker than Hank!! I may not have had similar climbs but i did do a KOM ride the other day!! 33.03 miles!! In 2 hours 11 minutes and 23 seconds!!! That's including being stopped by traffic!!!
If this was filmed after Neil's off during the Andes Pacifico then he looks well on the road to recovery. Despite the result of this challenge, it's good to see him riding and riding hard. Welcome back, Neil!
I’m crazy about that canyon lux! 😍 I want one right now 😭
12:47 is the most English thing I’ve ever seen haha
Another fantastic production from GMBN / GCN. Better than telly!
Great and funny challenge guys! I say that Neil has been slow by the sheeps 🐑🐏 lol special congratulation to the team that has realized this amazing video quality, lots of beautiful pictures 👍
Love a gmbn/gcn collab!
👊
I have respect for both, but personally i find MTB more fun!
Yeah same it is more fun, but I enjoy both because riding road is more of a relaxing and mental experience really.
@@torinatorproductions3267 yeah also true
I’m 11 and I’m new to MTB just got my first PRO MTB... I’m loving being part of the team
This video has never bored me
We Saw Who Is Fastest
But NO Who is The Best
This is cinematic quality. Wow!
This is how many people went around the road biker

only one like dimwit
Hehaha 26 luul
Ah yes snowdonia, one of the best places for mountain biking
I think the camera mans are the fastest, they even fly haha 😂
Welsh cake is different to bara brith lol laughed so hard 😂😂😂
Só when is GMBN going to get a XC mountain biker on their roster of riders? They got downhill/enduro/freestyle/dirt jumpers already!
Well GCN has been implementing new channels so I wouldn't be surprised if one of the two started achannel focusing on cyclocross/gravel/bikepacking. The latter two categories have been exploding lately but GMBN and GCN have only lightly talked about the subject. Gravel wise most of the big events and long gravel rides are in the U.S. and other countries.
@@schmojo33 yeah, but GMBN as a channel cover mainly stuff related to gravity focused biking, and XC being a MTB discipline should have a presenter showing up!
@@edu2368 I'm simply supporting your idea by saying I wouldn't be surprised if they move in that direction but lump it in with gravel and bikepacking. And if they did that it could end up on either channel or a separate one such as they did with Electric Mountain Bike Network which is a subchannel. Or another example is the Spanish GCN. Understand?
@@schmojo33 I do, but I still think XC should remain in GMBN, because if we follow that logic, it should be be GEN ( global enduro network)! Jokes aside, cross country is getting gnarly, and the new term "downcountry" should start gathering the attention from this channel!
The really question is, which is more fun!
Speeds are fun but bumpin' and going fast on offroads is just something else. Commin from a noob with a shitty bike but on daily basis i go trought offroad and high speed decents and they are both fun. But decent speed is a lot easier tho.
That is a big thumbs up for this video. Loved it. Nice scenario, great challenge and good comments. Thanks for sharing and greetings from a Mountain-Biker from Mallorca 🚲🏔
Enjoy cycling everywhere. Thanks for sharing this video...
Just ride a cyclocross bike and you can do both with one bike ;-)
Having ridden a road bike to places, I’d much rather be on a mountain bike and go off road. Much more scenery
And fun
🤘🤘👊

Salute to the man with MTB because of his stamina
He's Enduro rider
There is no question. You simply need one of both. But if I could only afford one, I'd start with the road bike.
just watching this makes my knees hurt looking at those climbs 😅 amazing job guys
