- Do you Remember VCRs? Well, your age is showing. There was a time when VCRs were the bomb. Now they've been well and truly replaced by advancing technology. Terrence Tashima, filed this eulogy, to something millenials will only hear about in text books
VHS, S-VHS and D-VHS was a great technology. The problem is that we need this because our history is recorded on this media, not a little time, many many time, from 1977 to ~2006. Our moments and our family have a video book on VHS/S-VHS and we need a good VCR to play or convert. Is a history of all family, all of the world. Home video but professionals documentaries too.

Same here. I think if they did a better job of marketing these things in the west, and making them appeal to the hipster crowd and also elderly people who still have a ton of tapes lying around, I think it would have been more profitable and they would have had a motive to put more money into the manufacturing of the parts for it.
@@thomasschnettler4021As someone who has been recently collecting VHS again and has two VCR/DVD combos, I’d be elated if they at least released a limited line of VCRs (standalone and combos)
I think they should go back, especially now during the pandemic here in Brazil, after everything that happened, the demand for VHS has skyrocketed, many want physical media or at least have a way to do the conversion since even ion's VCRs are already scrapped.

I sincerely ask if you can produce them again and export them to us, we need this physical media, not everyone wants to use just streaming, I believe it's not difficult to manufacture them, even though the last videos released that I had access to maintain were very simple inside.

The Funai units are who some manufacturers turned to at the end of the vcr days. They are cheap low quality. I'd take a refurbished mid to late 80s machine over a Funai anyday.
I own a Magnavox VCR/DVD combo manufactured in 2013, and that’s the latest I’ve come across. It’s a good machine. I like it a lot.
