I know this is a repeat episode. But I just love this old house!! ❤ And what he's been doing to upgrade and make it more affordable for future caretakers.
I love Giles’ enthusiasm, right up there with Julie! This is a spectacular undertaking, brilliant planning and accomplishment. Fantastic example and inspiration for others to embrace. ❤
This was a really wonderful episode. It must have been a challenge to be lady of the manor in the 1400's. The solar installation is simply miraculous . I found the addition of solar at our place pretty efficient. The year the electric company ended up owing us money at true up month was the inspiration for a huge neighborhood celebration. It would be fantastic if you could get a grant for a similar system at Mapperton. It would be so educational for your school children visitors.
I love that Giles restored the Elizabethan kitchen. This was a beautiful tour, so outstanding that solar energy is allowing this home to be economical. How fun to have pottage, too
Pretty certain I watched this last year/or earlier this year. You have so many videos it's hard to tell. No matter it is a great episode. Sending joy, light, and kindness.
I've learned so much by watching this - especially regarding the solar panels. I am really considering putting one on my small single wide home to help with the high electric bills in the summer since I live in the high southwest desert. Our city actually has a large field of solar panels, I don't know how many acres. But I always love watching your videos. One of the reasons I like British shows is because they almost always have at least one manor in their shows.
Viscountess this particular place was a little more unique as it has grasped modern technology to be able to maintain the property, certainly food for thought when it comes to Mapperton Manor. Another most interesting, wonderful and very in-depth look into this most unique property. Thank you for allowing us to part of your journeys. Take care and God Bless
That kitchen reminds me of the one in the Prinzenhof in Delft, the Netherlands, though with a lower ceiling. It's always amazing to me how long it took to get to a contained stove.
Is this the house in the movie "From Time to Time"? I love watching historical movies and recognizing the places they were filmed. I live near Williamsburg, VA and have visited several plantation houses then have seen them in movies and shows.
I would love to see the new laser etched windows once they are completed! Are you able to do a follow up and show us when they are completed please and thank you? 😊🙏
Hey, Julie 🤗. Please feature next the Ashe House from Musbury (Devon)? I honestly don't know it's exact location. But from what ive read on an article, once a Duchess of Montagu were married to one of the Drake family sons and lived there.
My family origins are from Dorset. I wonder if I still have family there? I was told as a child that they had manors like this. Any way you would know or could look up the name?
I don’t think anybody is going to go out of there way to do that for you my friend, it’s something you will have to do yourself. Also @ReallyRyanReally is not much to go on in itself tbh! 🤷🏻♂️
Every County in England has castles or manor houses. In 1066 when William the Conquer invaded he gave land to those who were loyal to him along with titles.
I guess the climate control is solar powered heat pumps - which is interesting. Since the UK has a dearth of sunshine they must share power sources a bit like a Prius that could run on 2 energy sources. I like the floor grates but not sure if the estate is ultimately heated by hot water or blown air. Also - does it cool the home?
When an Owner says this fireplace was brought and installed here from somewhere else. What does this really mean? I'm thinking insert and mental stonework.
genuine question let’s say your father in law was to die will u still be amefican viscountess or american countess since ur husband will be the earl of sandwhich😅
I know this is a repeat episode. But I just love this old house!! ❤

I love how they are integrating the new technology into these grand homes! It’s a brilliant solution! Great video, Miss Julie.

Nice new opening! Beautiful color to your blouse. Very flattering! ...back to the video!😊
This was so wonderful to watch. This Manor home is stunning. Thank you and Giles for showing us around.
We enjoyed a wonderful day at Athelhampton this summer. Very interesting and beautiful. Watching this video was a lovely reminder. 😊😊
Absolutely loved this episode. Cheers Julie and Giles.

I love stained glass. Great to open the old window in the great room.

Charming discussion.

So...creative...🎉
Old school wood paneled walls are so evocative and moving to me for some reason
History, History, History.....❤❤❤❤ it❤❤❤❤❤ Hi from Pennsylvania 😊😊😊😊
“As time goes by “ with Maggie Smith, Hugh, Bonneville, and Alan pitchman? All from Downton Abbey working together years later I’d love this movie.

Yes!! I love that movie, and so much of Athelhamptom in shown. Definitely worth watching From Time to TIme!
I can’t imagine the size and scale of this project!! Bravo 👏
Weve already seen this!
It's so annoying
Great video. Very informative about the solar, we are doing a similar project here at Clairbaudieres so thank you so much for this.
I have the most trivial question: your brown belt-I am IN LOVE. Every episode intro I just melt. I need details!!😊
Oh thank you! From Sezane!
It would have been nice to see some of the rooms other than the kitchen and great hall.
that ws the house from time to time with Maggie Smith
I love that the host is wearing an Alice Starmore designed sweater
I would love to see the new laser etched windows once they are completed! Are you able to do a follow up and show us when they are completed please and thank you? 😊🙏
I saw the episode of you making the pottage earlier this week and made it myself. Quite tasty! 😊

Hope someday you will do a tour of Coughton Court in Warwickshire.
I’ve never seen this one before
I like your new haircut.
the poldark mansion 😀
Is it?! I loved that show.
It does look similar! But the Poldark mansion was filmed at Chavenage in Tetbury

I love this episode, but why was it loaded for the 3rd time now to this channel
It's so annoying

Yuhoo Elon is in the heating business also!
😮😢
❤
6 figures cost of heatin😮😱😱😱😱😱😱
Oh my how hugh the kitchen is. It had to be because of the amount of people it fed etc.
They also had cottage walled gardens where they grew vegetables.
This is not new.

What about china's amishans
bla season one repeated for the third time how disappointing 😟
He uses Elon Musk Tesla Batteries

She will be a countess through marriage not blood. She will be an American who has become a Countess.
