I never had the good fortune to hear this on The Dr. Demento Show on KMET (Los Angeles), but I did have the good fortune to hear it played from a Dr. Demento album circa 1982-3. I cried a little laughing at it again after all these years. 🤣
Rock and Roll Doctor: "Ok, Rock and Roll Doctor, you're on the air" Caller: "Uh, did you see Book of Boba Fett, man?" RRD: "No, I haven't." Caller: "Oh, you should man, it's really good! It's got all these, uh, Star Wars cameos in it, man, really good!" RRD: "Yeah, OK, well do you have a question here?" Caller: "Uh, right, well it's about the Mods, you know, they're like, uh, Cyborgs on Tatooine, and they ride around on color-coded speeder bikes, you know." RRD: "Do you want to get to the point, please?" Caller: "Yeah, yeah, well, the Mods are like always taking this drug. It's called "spice", man, I've never heard of spice, man, like what is this spice?" RRD: "As far as I'm concerned, it's kept in your kitchen cabinet. Spice is not a good drug plant; I suggest try weed instead."
I am SO happy I found this!! I used to listen to Dr. Demento on 94.7 KMET here in Los Angeles which is where I first heard this tune. Thanks for sharing it!!
Oh, do I LOVE this. They just don't make comedy like this anymore. EXCELLENT stuff. I really miss Dr. Demento. I listened to that radio show back in the late 70's and early 80's when I was in Jr. High school and high school. Every Sunday night at 10:30 pm on KCIZ in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Those are some very good memories. I've got to get a copy of that Dr. Demento album. 😁
Oh man I remember the Funny 25 on NYE...78? 79? 80? This was on there...Earache My Eye...Dead Puppies...Kinko the Clown...Pencil Neck Geek...The Smokeoff...
Classic, Thank you! I thought this was lost to the web strewn halls of my uh, er (what was it?) . ... Memory. Yah, that's it, my memory. Need a prescription i guess.
this was classic comedy at its best. I remember staying up late listening when I was just a kid.

I used to listen to the Dr Dimento show as a kid in the 80's. I would record every show on cassette. Still have most of them. Good stuff.
Sergeant Friday would have been a good caller. "Let me tell you something, buddy..."
I remember hearing this for the first time in 85’. Loved it...

Radio Snack LAB-2100 linear tracking turntable from the 1980s.
94.5 WCOZ in Boston circa 1981.
What time - wasn’t it late like 1 am on the weekends? I’ll be damned if I can remember freshman year in high school. Ugh
The LOOP 97.9 in Chicago was playing this in the early 80's I also listened to 100.7 WRKR in racine WI. They also played it at the same time...
Man. I haven't heard this since like 1985 lol.
To this day, I still giggle at thoughts of, "wWHAT? wHAT? WOW!WOW! wWHAT? wHAT?".
Every day I feel more like that young lady who was told to lay down for a couple of days …
It is actually the Drug Enforcement Administration, but it still makes me laugh... a whole lot!
