Hey Dave!! Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to try the Soloist as I have not seen it yet. I have tried the dual malt and that is very delicious as well. Next up for me from ASW will hopefully be the Rye as I heard great things about it but I have too many bottles backed up on the "try" list, which includes the samples you sent me. Thanks a million, as always, for your view, comment, and support!! Super appreciated and cheers!
I personally don't love the soloist, as I tend not to enjoy any of the real high malt bourbons. But I doo love the Georgia heartwwod. For me, $85-90 for this is far better than $60-65 for soloist
@@nolimitnuggetb Hey Nolimit! I was not aware of the high malt content on the Soloist. I'm hoping to get a pour of the soloist soon as I would like to try it myself but with that information, it's might not be a bad thing I can't find a bottle! 😂Thanks for the info, view, and comment! I appreciate greatly and cheers!
Hey Gary! It is a underrated and fantastic pour! I am expecting big things from ASW in 2024 and let's hope they meet it with some awesome whiskeys! I truly appreciate your view and comment! Thank you so much and cheers~
Hey David! Awesome review! I absolutely love ASW and have had the all and some special rare releases! So glad you reviewed this! Keep up the great work! Cheers 🥃
Hey Sean!! Welcome back and thank you for your praises!! It means a lot coming from a future RUclips star!! Being from Georgia, I'm sure you get access to their special and limited releases (lucky guy!!), but I have never even heard of any of their special releases. Now I'm so curious I'll probably spend the rest of the night doing some research on the web! LOL. As always, thanks a bunch for your view, comment, and support!! So greatly appreciated and cheers!
I’ve never had anything from ASW, I am looking, but they haven’t made it to TX. But I feel you on the hoping all these up and coming distilleries keep putting out some awesome juice! Thirteenth Colony seems to be doing just that, Still Austin as well and from what I hear ASW is too. I’m hoping to try some at some point, but I’m always pulling for the smaller guys to rival the bourbon giants! Great review! This is the bottle I am hunting and you have just confirmed that I should be! Thank you very much Sir! Don’t sleep on Milam and Greene either! Take care and enjoy the pours 🥃!
Hey Victor! I'm very surprised ASW isn't available in TX yet; hope you guys get it soon as you are missing out!! Out here in Southern California, I don't have access to 13th Colony and is one of the distilleries I really want to try as their pricing is fantastic and all their bottles are getting great reviews and would really like to support the small, craft distilleries. I haven' tried the Milam an Greene but it is now on my to do list! Thanks a ton for the view and comment! Greatly appreciated and cheers!
You said it... I think we all are pulling for the up n comers. I hope the west coast will be able to lay our hands on some Thirteen Colony without paying secondary. There is so many interesting small distilleries out there that the real question is which ones do I try next.
Hey Brandon! Mr. K's has some great store picks and some allocated bottles as well! Ask for Mike as he is the bourbon guy and will answer any questions you have about any store picks! Let me know if you were able to find this bottle or any other awesome bottles! Thanks a million for your view and comment! Super appreciated and cheers!
I ended up hanging out with Mike for a few hours, sampled some great stuff and left with the ASW, a Tumbling Dice pick, a Rittenhouse pick and a Benchmark Full Proof. Awesome guys down there, can’t wait to go back.
@@brandonvinson832 Hey Brandon! That's awesome! Mike is a cool guy and is so knowledgeable about all the picks, I can spend hours there talking to him 😂 I'm glad you had a good time and picked up some great bottles! Let me know how they are so I can go pick some up myself! Thanks for supporting your local small business!
They were all great and I would definitely pick up the Tumblin Dice pick, the Rittenhouse is a no brainer, I don’t see many of those around and the Benchmark Full Proof is such a great value. Stagg is up there as one of my favorites and that Benchmark is a great fill in for an easy to find affordable full proof alternative. If I lived closer that stoop behind the counter could get dangerous and expensive lol.
@@brandonvinson832 😆 I agree! I'm kind of glad I live about an hour away! But next time I'm there, I'll pick up the tumbling dice pick! Thanks for the info!
I agree w your review. I live in Fl. and travel to Atlanta frequently and the heartwood is next to impossible to find anywhere. They cannot keep it on the shelves. If you see it make sure you grab it.
Hey James! The ASW Georgia Heartwood still sits on shelves here and it is too available!! I still can't believe people here in Southern California haven't figured out this great bourbon!! Well, more for me so I'm not complaining! Thanks a million for your view and comment! It is super appreciated and cheers!
Hey Greg! For $80, it is a solid deal for this bourbon and is worth every cent! I'm hoping ASW gets bigger and their selection grows so there are more good bourbons and ryes on the shelf soon. Thanks a ton for your view and comment! Super appreciate it and cheers!
If you're asking if it's better than the regular wild turkey 101, yes it is certainly better. More oaky. More sweet. More smooth. But if you consider the price, it might be a toss up. Have a wonderful Monday and cheers ~
Hey Bourbon Retriever! It is a great bottle and hopefully will get known for it in my area as it still just sits on the shelves! Thanks a ton for your view and comment! Greatly appreciated and keep up the good work on your channel! Cheers!
Hey Chris! Thank you for your kind words!! Great buy and following Trent's advice is always a good practice as his palate is on point!! David, This is one of my favorite pours and you're spot on with you description of the the deliciousness of this nectar. One thing I tend to get (but not always) is a very slight note of "white" Wrigley's spearmint gum on the finish. But I don't have a store pick. Great review my friend. I'll just have to stop by the store on Orangethorpe now that I know that they have store picks. Dana from Riverside
Hey Dana!! I haven't had a Wrigley's spearmint gum since.. College? It brings back memories... not always good ones, but memories.. LOL. I got a lot of cinnamon spices, but I can see how some barrels or batches would get a spearmint type of spice at the end. I'll have to revisit the ASW tonight and see if I get it now that it's been open for a couple of days. Mr. K's on Orangethorpe is a great little liquor store with some good deals. Ask for Mike as he is the bourbon expert and he'll let you try most of the store picks before you buy them. Best ones I had from there are his ASW pick and Tumblin Dice picks. As always, thanks a million for your support, it is super appreciated! Cheers!
Hey Bourbon King! Great name and you have 88 subs on 5 videos?? You're already way ahead of me! I just subbed to you! I saw your Cypress Craft video and will see your other videos soon! ASW Georgia Heartwood is a fantastic bottle, but especially Mr. K's! It seems you're located in Southern California so you should pay them a visit, talk to Mike, and do a video! Thanks a ton for your view and comment! I super appreciate it and cheers!
I wonder if the 45% wheat component is the one that is making this such a good tasting all round on the palate. Now I gotta hustle over to Total Wine to get it. They have it for $88 with a 10% coupon.
Hi Dean! Either it be the Wheat or the Georgia Wood Staves, it's a great bottle! TW has a good store pick as well and with that coupon, I would recommend you get a bottle! I haven't had a single person tell me that they did not enjoy this bourbon. I look forward to trying more whiskeys from ASW. I appreciate your binge watching and commenting!! That is some dedication and I'm so grateful for it! Have a great weekend~
