Have you read the latest reports on climate? We put enough carbon into the atmosphere we won't stop the warming so we need to adapt and build fire breaks around towns and cities in danger. We need to start something like FEMA to respond. No Carbon tax or GST for three months. Need to cut government waste and trim the civil service and find ways to interduce AI and stop it with consultants.

On the flip side, if I'm suffering this summer with affordability, I'm gonna notice that I'm paying carbon taxes and still seeing wildfires. So what's the point?

I have lived in BC and AB my entire life. There were lots of wild fires back in the 80’s and 90’s then less for the 2000’s and 2010’s. The current wildfires are nothing new. Just a new cycle of a normal issue every summer.

If taxes are in place will the fires go out, will the air clear?

PP did talk about it he said that the federal liberals can reduce spending on Consultants which amounts to 21 billion dollars a year of which a small portion of that would easily offset the taxes collected in fuel

The reduction or elimination of the carbon tax for the summer or indefinitely will not have any effect on forest fires, floods, droughts or other natural disasters period!
Since the carbon tax was introduced, an increase in carbon based fuels and its usage has increased.

Regardless of how much Carbon tax is collected, we will be here again in 10-30- 50 - 100 years still watching the wildfires burn, it’s nature nothing can stop them.

How is Argentina turning their economy around so quickly? By getting rid of govt freeloaders. and reducing taxes to put money into peoples pockets that in turn revs up the economy.

Mike, why do your panel never tell the public the % we pay for carbon tax, as we know the % we pay for hst(13%) . We also pay 13% hst on top of the carbon tax.

The carbon tax has to go, most Canadians do not receive a carbon tax rebate, despite what Trudeau has to say. Canada represents 1.5% of the world’s carbon, it’s inconsequential, yet we pay more than all but one country worldwide. There is absolutely no evidence to support the carbon tax works. 35 cents a litre savings would mean a lot to most Canadians. Trudeau/NDP have to go

Have to raise the Carbon Tax to 100$ per litre.
To save the planet , look at so many rains in Spring. On top of that summer is coming and the planet is warming.
Need to for more tax to Canadians is undeniable, we are at a no turning point.
Please , please , more tax
Add one more tax for rain, and an other one for the Sunny Days.
