I am Zambian and a frequent visitor of Tanzania especially Dar Es Salaam. I am shocked to hear about crimes in Dar es salaam, car thefts and snatching bags????? Which Tanzania is he talking about????? Tanzania is a very peaceful city with very very low crime rates of that nature.....peaceful Country and Loving Swahili People....Its indeed a Paradise, just like other African Countries.

I've known many Nigerians who describe their country as a beautiful, fun place. Nigerians stick together here in the US, always knowing several others in their neighborhood, which I love. I've also met quite a few Kenyans, some who ran track in school, and a man from Ghana and his family. The only African I knew who was alone was a friend from the Ivory Coast, who spoke French and had a friend from nearby. My point is, I've never met an African who fits the negative stereotypes perpetuated by the media. These issues are probably more true for people in the US, where a Black man is more likely to face violence from police, struggle to own a home, make a living wage, receive adequate healthcare, or leave anything but memories for his children. I have two sons, and I am genuinely concerned for them here in America. I plan to bring them to Africa once my youngest finishes high school to find wives and build lives there. I only learned about the beautiful beaches a couple of years ago!

I have never felt threatened or that I was in danger of being robbed except once when encountering some police, But that is a different story. As Americans we are told almost from birth that America is the best country.Im so glad that I found out the truth that the world is full of beauty. That's great. However, your experiences in Africa as a white person has absolutely nothing to do with black people and our plight. This is not about you. We already know that white people like the African continent because your white global human population has been there since ancient Egypt and refuse to leave our lands and people alone. Don't apologize to members of our African diaspora, when white people are still occupying land masses your ancestors stole from it's indigenous natives. Don't butter us up. Convince your fellow peers to withdraw their occupation of any land mass outside of Europe, give the stolen cultural artifacts that do are stored in your European museums, and have your European countries financially compensate every single indigenous human population for the trauma we had to endure under colonial occupation. I have got a few friends from a few spots in Africa and they have shown me pictures the place is beautiful. Ps most of the information we get about Africa is from the late 80s and early 90s when we used to try and give aid to Africa using the musicians.
Very very good content here. I've been considering moving to another country myself. For the fact that some things we are starting to experience here in the USA. We are back fighting for rights and freedoms as if the 60s and 70s never happened and we as a country never learned anything... It just feels that here in America black people will always have to fight for an equal opportunity and frankly I'm tired of trying. I don't want my descendants to have to go through this same thing every 30yrs or so. 🔸Nothing but wild animals and tribesmen.
🔸Small villages being super far apart.
🔸The only recognized culture being Egypt, as if everyone else was insignificant.
More recently, there has been a shift in perception with more people visiting Africa, sharing videos, and countries gaining liberation, like around the time of the South African Olympics. However, the view is still often skewed, presenting two types of Africa: a super-rich side with musicians, businessmen, and politicians next to very poor, starving children, with white people being considered Africans.
Now, there's a push on the crime narrative, claiming it's very expensive and unsafe, especially for women. They say Africans don't like Black Americans but enjoy our culture, which is odd because we are the same people. A white man recently tried to convince me of these things about Jamaica too, not knowing I lived there for two years. Yes, my white friend was jumpy and probably bait for a thief, but there are more thieves in the US. So, I figure it must not be true about Africa either.
I've known many Nigerians who describe their country as a beautiful, fun place. Nigerians stick together here in the US, always knowing several others in their neighborhood, which I love. I've also met quite a few Kenyans, some who ran track in school, and a man from Ghana and his family. The only African I knew who was alone was a friend from the Ivory Coast, who spoke French and had a friend from nearby.
My point is, I've never met an African who fits the negative stereotypes perpetuated by the media. These issues are probably more true for people in the US, where a Black man is more likely to face violence from police, struggle to own a home, make a living wage, receive adequate healthcare, or leave anything but memories for his children. I have two sons, and I am genuinely concerned for them here in America. I plan to bring them to Africa once my youngest finishes high school to find wives and build lives there. I only learned about the beautiful beaches a couple of years ago!

I feel much safer in Tanzania than I did in the U.S. The part of Dar I live in, there are no police officers patrolling the streets because the residents behave like the civilized human beings they are.

We grew intolerance to disrespect and if tomorrow all of us move back to the continent... I have got a few friends from a few spots in Africa and they have shown me pictures the place is beautiful. Ps most of the information we get about Africa is from the late 80s and early 90s when we used to try and give aid to Africa using the musicians.
Very very good content here. I've been considering moving to another country myself. For the fact that some things we are starting to experience here in the USA. We are back fighting for rights and freedoms as if the 60s and 70s never happened and we as a country never learned anything... It just feels that here in America black people will always have to fight for an equal opportunity and frankly I'm tired of trying.
