@@TheMacMaster like you said a lot of people like the skin. A restaurant has to cater to everybody. It's just like how you used to deduct a point when the eggs weren't white on top. That was your fault for not asking for them that way. Most people prefer a yellow yolk. You have since generally ordered them the way you want but it's not the restaurant's fault for not reading your mind.

I lived in Scotland for numerous years and trust me, the vast majority of Scottish Fish & Chip shops sold deep-fried pizza and Scotch Pies and Haggis. My pet hate is when food is brought on wood, I tell them to take it back and bring me a plate. The same goes for coffee in old Jam Jars, that goes back too. Why do they serve fish with skin on, seems to me that they think it is upmarket? I hate it too.

Skin is fine by me, it keeps the fish moist. A former partner and I used to have a meal in a certain pub in the Durham countryside. I'd have meat pie and she'd have fish and chips. The fish had skin on which my partner didn't eat. She'd leave a fish shaped piece of battered skin, which I would eat with the remains of the gravy from my pie. Mmmm, luxury!

I think Lee purposefully doesn't ask for the skin to be taken off because he knows it will stimulate engagement if he moans about 'controversial' topics in his videos.
Lee has enough brains to know that that it is perfectly common, that people enjoy it and that there is always the option of asking them to remove it. Knocking points off for that is like ordering a latte in a coffee shop and then moaning that they didn't use skimmed milk because he prefers a skinny latte

Heston Blumenthal's pub, The Hind's Head in Bray, has renowned Fish and Chips for 29 quid, pricey, but every vlogger that's tried it says it's the best. One of the more parsimonious of them answered the question, would you pay it again? He said not only would he pay it again, he'd fly there from anywhere in the world for the privilege. (They probably serve breakfast too.) You probably might want to try it before you finally make up your mind.

And Heston leaves the skin on. It really isn't a problem. I reckon if Lee was blindfolded and given battered fish with skin on he wouldn't even know, other than the fish has less chance of drying out. The skin has it's purposes. Now unscaled is a different thing all together. That IS a no no
