I wonder how many people are yet to realize that to make these camera shots you have to walk twice or thrice the usual distance. Have to setup the camera, walk the shot, and then retrieve it. First time i got this realization was when watching the tv show Survivorman, where he explained this process while being alone and without a camera crew. It impressed me, and still impresses me how much effort goes into making these awesome shots.
Nope. Unless my wife and daughters are with me on a hike or something, I am alone and film myself. They help when and where they can and want to more often, but I build alone

What I've built is nothing to be in awe of since it is my trade, what I am in awe of with these videos is all the time it takes this man to go back and forth to pick up and relocate his camera ! Back tracking down the trails over and over again to show him coming and going, getting footage from left and right , up and down. If he didn't have to screw with the camera as much he could have built a village . Maybe one day his wife or someone worth his salt would join him to get the footage needed , allowing this man to exhaust his full potential !

I assume given Cali isn't being distracted by another person, that Shawn is constantly moving a tripod around in between takes, or should I say edits.

THERE IS A FINE 'OLD TIME' TECHNOLOGY! My grand and great-grandparents had 'ice ponds' for exactly that purpose. They heated with wood and built farm buildings...and there was some sawdust on hand.
In the gardens of some stately homes here in the UK they have ice houses dug into the ground and lined with brick, the servants would collect the ice from the ponds and pack it into the ice house so that their masters could have ice cream etc.
@Kim Peres my Dad used to cut large blocks of ice on our dugout, then stored the ice blocks in a wooden bin. Shavings and saw dust were gathered from a sawmill, and were used to insulate/bury the ice blocks.
