  • I've been treating Fatty's mallanders with filtabac, and have been adding seaweed to her diet. It seems to be working, and there are definitely fewer scabs and poorly skin. #fatty #mallanders #seaweed

    Washing the feather with Dermoline or malaseb weekly and drying with a hairdryer helped me. I also used a nit comb to remove scabs in the feather. I applied wound cream instead of sudocreme but you’ll need a vet to prescribe it.I also used to get a dectomax injection 6 monthly for my traditional cob who is sadly no longer with us. Good progress with the seaweed though.

      Nit combs are brilliant! I've not heard of malaseb so I'll have a look, thank you 😊 sorry for your loss x

      @@2fatponiesuk malaseb is a shampoo used for dogs and cats with skin problems. My vet prescribed it for malanders. You can probably buy it from viovet. I was told not to use sudocream as it provides a haven for bacteria. You are doing a great job.
