Brings back memories lol, I used to make clay moils on gathering irons for the gatherer in our press chair gang, molten glass was called "metal" not hot glass where I worked, inside the furnace there was a split clay floating ring and that was called the gathering pool, you always took from there as there was less blistering In the ring, when I move to the blowers the fun started, making paper weights and huge glass vases, they could pick up a lot of metal very quickly, I can still smell the place in my head especially the burning nippers lol
