    What a performance. I don't comment much, but I love this piece and this performance. What a beautiful interpretation.

    Amazing Congratulation! My father love to play this piano piece from Franz Liszt during his early Piano Studies on the Liszt Academy on Early 1940`s from his teacher was Ernest Dohnanyi.

    This has to be the best piano composition of Franz Liszt ,second only to his Sonata. Sublime, the ultimate inspiration! I wish the middle section was a bit slower or perhaps just broader....

      This guy plays it WAY too fast and WAY too muddled, would not recommend him as the intro to this piece

  • @christofeles63

    Katsaris is in sovereign command of but not 'above' the music. Nor does he wallow in it. He understands and respects it. Having heard Hough, Arrau, Tinney, and Korstick among many others, this is the performance I recommend.

      Steven Hough is very special, he tends to play Liszt as it was Bach. Not always my cup of tea, but always very interesting to hear.

    I just feel it’s too fast. And I speak humbly as a pianist who has played this. There’s too much bravura where there should be awestruck breadth. It’s a benediction, not an exhortation. Arrau captures the mystery and majesty as does Julien Libeer.

    • @seans5631
      @seans5631 4 года назад +3

      And your opinions don't matter. Nobody knows who you are as a pianist but we all know who this maestro is, right? So keep your worthless shitty comments to yourself, little one.

    Vraiment superbe. Dommage que quelques accelerandos remplacent les élargissements, ce qui retire parfois en force et en sérénité, mais sinon très bien joué. Pas fan non plus des fioritures...

    It's too fast, the inner melody is lost. Liszt made his music in such a way that technique should never overshadow the music. This is too often the case unfortunately.
