They never said they wouldn't do a normal Chibi Robo again. It's just a new concept. Trying to attract new people to the series. It's better than letting it die.
Dimentioluc So many people are fixating on it being different rather than giving it the honest chance it deserves. Looks like a fun and unique platformer to me. Yes this year's E3 was disappointing, but I never thought I'd see this little cutie back in gaming; people need to stop being so spiteful..
enjoi0555 They do understand how important E3 is though. That's why they revealed Starfox and appologized for the digital event. Also Starfox zero doesn't have multiplayer. While the Starfox 64 remake did. Do you understand that.
Dick Socrates Their stocks melted right after the event, they would have been better off. Most fans including me are extremely disappointed. I live in Bulgaria so i paid 430 bucks for a new 3ds and i pay 90 for every single game, and them disappointing me is quite an accomplishment, considering how big of a fan i am.
Definitely getting this one! Been waiting so long for a Chibi Robo game. Really hope you can stock stores with the game/amiibo bundle Nintendo. I work full time. Would love to get the game after I work without being disappointed of it being sold out. I'll try to pre-order it, but anything related with amiibos pre-orders sell out within seconds or aren't available to begin with.
enjoi0555 i think theres a chance of getting it because if you remember the mario party bundel it is still in stock in tons of places so good luck but i just want the amiibo
I've been wanting him to be in Smash for ages as I thought he would be so interesting with his household goods and toys, now that he has proper moves with this game he'd fit in so well :D
I'm sad that ever since the release of Chibi Robo for the GC, 9 years ago, we still haven't had a proper sequel to it, that followed the same kind of exploration-based gameplay that made it so fun. There was Okaeri Chibi Robo Happy Richie Oosouji, but for some reason, that game never saw the light of day outside Japan. This new platformer actually looks pretty fun, and I plan to buy it, but I'd be extremely happy with a new Chibi Robo game that has a world as awesome and interesting to explore as the first one, with many secrets and memorable characters to find. But, Nintendo, for the love of all that's holy, just please never do anything like Chibi Robo Photo Finder ever again. That game was an insult to Chibi Robo fans D:
It's rare for Nintendo to screw anything up. Unfortunately, this looks like one of those occasions. The first Chibi-Robo was amazing, people loved it to death! Park Patrol was a big let down because it deviated too much from the original, and it had a major lack of areas to explore. Photo Finder deviated even further. People *do not* want this, Nintendo! We want a true sequel, like Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Oosouji, which was never released here for some reason. This game looks like a great platformer, but this is not the way Chibi-Robo is meant to be. He's not Mario, and this looks like it might as well be some kind of Mario game. Big mistake.
Yet another disappointing game... -_- i would have loved a 3ds chibi robo game, but making it a 2.5d platformer? WHY??? The 3ds is AMAZING for 3d platformers and yet you keep unnecessarily making 2d ones, especially this forced. This game looks way too easy, and the graphics aren't even good, especially because it's 2d, so it could have looked a lot better. From an incredibly original 3d action game, to a generic 2d platformer, way to go. With this, animal crossing, Metroid (ugh), zelda 3ds, and all the other disappointments... no wonder the stocks plummeted. People just want a new Prime game, a real one, a new chibi, just plain old good sequels. Oh well, let''s hope these end up being good in the end, i probably won't be buying them though. In BG where i live a game costs 90bucks...
2tehnik People that don't play nintendo games complain about lack of originality. And how is boiling Metroid to a simple shooter, or making a Zelda with the exact same art style, but worse looking just with more players, or an animal crossing, but a board game or just the home design part, or making one of the most original series into a simple 2.5d shooter that looks like it plays like a dumbed down captain commando original? Does it sound original? (spoilers, it's not). It was original when they made mario galaxy, or 3d land. ? The first metroid prime was original, the new one doesn't even have samus playable, it has nothing that makes metroid metroid, only shooting, and a metroid game can be made without that, and it won't be the biggest loss, compared to atmosphere and puzzles. Do you get it now? (Majora's mask is original, Super metroid, Prime, DS zeldas, Xenoblade and etc. Not dumbing down games.)
2tehnik Yeah i saw it. Did you see anything metroid in it? Or anything other than shooting? Or maybe samus? Or some great puzzles or gear? OR did you see just a coop shooter, even the art style is generic.
Bio Zelink to me only non-metroid things were: linear map design, the art style (which i myself like) and mission based gameplay or however you wanna call it, everything else felt kinda like metroid, and heck even if it isn't a lot like metroid it still looks fun, i don't care about the title, if it looks fun i'm interested (BTW kinda unrelated but i'm a big fan of zelda II, which doesn't have to do AT ALL with the gameplay of the original)
2tehnik I am a fan of Zelda 2 but it actually does. Plus it has lots of variety. It's a great game. Here is the problem, you said it yourself, the mission design, the art style, no samus. Plus there aren't any puzzles, the whole thing that was great about metroid was that it was a game that you had to use your head to beat, and now it's just a shooter. Sure it will be fun, but it's no metroid. How much does a simple shooter hold your attention? Because that's all you do, just kill things, that's not metroid. What is metroid is the question? IT's a First person adventure game (not a shooter), it's trademarks are a sense of isolation (and it's not present here), the gear upgrading and mostly the cerebral puzzles (an the puzzles aren't here as well), also a strong female lead (and she's been replaced with 4 generic faceless soldier dudes). I'm not complaining just to complain, believe me. I live i n bulgaria, where a single 3ds game costs me 90 bucks, mi salary is 360 bucks a month, my new 3ds cost 430 bucks, and i have dozens of games. So i'm the biggest Nintendo fan, i pay 3 times the price just to play the games even though i could pirate them much cheaper. I wanted a Metroid game, but i wanted a metroid, not just a team based shooter, i've played tons of them, i play nintendo because they are different.
Hey all, Scott here.
this game is really growing on me & LOVING the amiibo for it
Looks like a throw back to the side scroller era of the Gameboy Advance days..
Reminds me of a mix of Mario bros and Klonoa and bionic commando.
Stop disliking Chibi Robo. If you dislike this you're everything wrong with videogames.
Dimentioluc The problem is chibi robo got butchered since the second game. they forgot what made the first one so special.
They never said they wouldn't do a normal Chibi Robo again. It's just a new concept. Trying to attract new people to the series. It's better than letting it die.
Dimentioluc That's debatable.
Dimentioluc So many people are fixating on it being different rather than giving it the honest chance it deserves. Looks like a fun and unique platformer to me.
Yes this year's E3 was disappointing, but I never thought I'd see this little cutie back in gaming; people need to stop being so spiteful..
makes me think about castlevania the way you dispose of enemies lol that's awesome xD
This further proves Chibi Robo should be in Smash.
Looks like a really fun game not being an original chibi robo fan the side scrolling action looks really fun and totally willing to be tired out
To me it looks like Nintendo would have been better off without being at E3 at all. It's like they didn't want to do E3 but they had to.
enjoi0555 They do understand how important E3 is though. That's why they revealed Starfox and appologized for the digital event.
Also Starfox zero doesn't have multiplayer. While the Starfox 64 remake did. Do you understand that.
Iwata didn't actually apologise it was a mistranslation
TanookiTV
What's your source.
SylvesterrSan These Treehouse videos are awesome. Just cause you didn't like the games doesn't mean Nintendo should just abandon E3.

I really love Chibi Robo
i didn´t know if i should like the idea of having the new one to be a platformer
looks fun actually
Definitely getting this one! Been waiting so long for a Chibi Robo game.

raspberrybat that what I was thinking
I've been wanting him to be in Smash for ages as I thought he would be so interesting with his household goods and toys, now that he has proper moves with this game he'd fit in so well :D
ikr
looks fun
That moment when the guy kills the mini Chibi-Robo...
This looks like a really fun platformer, plus you get the Amiibo packaged with it? Put me down for 1 copy also!
Oh, Chibi Robo is its own game? I thought it was slang for Metroid Prime: Federation Force
Chibi Robo Wii U next please....or at least the GC or DS version on the virtual console
Was Park Patrol more like 1? I've been waiting for a proper sequel...
I'm sad that ever since the release of Chibi Robo for the GC, 9 years ago, we still haven't had a proper sequel to it, that followed the same kind of exploration-based gameplay that made it so fun. I love how Nintendo isn't even showing off more of the "Metroid" game anymore. Kinda sad.
Why didn't Nintendo show this in their E3 direct? It wasn't exactly bustling with content.
All this talk about chibi robo's "cord" length makes me uncomfortable.

The amount of squares and rectangles in this game makes it look inherently boring.

OMG
These translations are really annoying. Just get an english person who knows about the game.
Vonny Erich Im pretty sure there arent any english speakers that know more about the game than the japanese developers
Vonny Erich nicely ignorant of you. get back under your bridge, troll.
This game looks lame.
