- In this project, we take you through the fascinating process of building a portable sauna that can be moved easily without a car. Our self-built sauna, shaped like a giant wheelbarrow, reaches up to 110 degrees Celsius and is heated only by a wooden stove. We crafted it using lightweight plastic walls to make it movable by hand, requiring only three people.
Discover how we designed and constructed this unique urban retreat to fit into urban parking spaces, with the ability to move it in the city if needed, to provide a relaxing compact spa.
Stay tuned to see how we solved space, weight, and transport issues while maintaining the sauna's functional integrity.

love how this gets around pesky over regulated building rules!! kudos!!!
A nice side effect 🤣😉
Very cool!! It's beautiful.
Thank you ! @jamesmayer1306
I love this idea. I'm interested in what else you guys have in store.
I think there will be more on the channel, but I might need some time for editing and other tasks. Have you already subscribed? If you do, you'll get notified when new videos are uploaded.
Increíble metodología! Nosotros hacemos cosas similares en México y al equipo nos impresionó su exploración de diseño y materiales. Felicidades!
Cool! Thank you!
Cool!
Thank you :D
Hey there, Belair Labs team!
Thank you for documenting this fun and amazing project :) It seems, that the polycarbonate works really well in this design due to it's thermal insulation, transparency to light and lightweight properties.
When you did your primary material research, what other viable materials for the sauna siding did you consider? Plywood maybe?
After a year of use did you see any problems with polycarbonate melting or bowing?
Lastly, did you do a research about the potential of polycarbonate off-gassing, especially in higher temperatures, and it's effect on human health?
Thank you again and good luck with future projects!
Hey, of course, we thought a lot about other materials, but there was nothing we could find at the same price and the same weight. But with this material, we had no issues at all. As for health questions, I can only say that we researched but couldn't find any problems. We also found saunas which use polycarbonate windows as well, so they would then probably have the same problems. is this helping ?
how can this only have 34 views ??
Since I'm just starting out, this is my first video, and I haven't delved too much into the RUclips algorithm yet. Maybe there are some clues I need to learn ;) I just uploaded it yesterday. But thank you for the comment; it probably helps get the algorithm going ;)
@@BelairLabs love the editing and video style in general, keep it up!!
Thank you! :)
Great project! Why steel for the frame? Aluminum would have been lighter, no?
Yes, indeed, but steel was cheaper, and we weren't sure how well we could weld it. 😂😉
Build a mobile human airfryer?
