Have you ever flown the 717? They’re a rare find now in Europe, although Delta in the USA have a whole ton of them!

I am flying Volotea from Naples to Cagliari. Would have preferred EasyJet but they leave very late at night. I screwed up. I bought an a la carte ticket as I am not used to their system and should have bought the "package." On the package I could have gotten extra legroom and a drink! A la Carte I paid more !!!! (I am a dummy) and am sitting in a regular seat with no drink. Beautiful airport! I can't understand why on earth people would insult you. You are a likable person. Your videos are great.

I've flown two orphaned aircraft in the past that were a blast to fly, one was the Dornier 328 and second was the B 717. The cockpit looks small from the outside, however it is far more comfortable than the B 737. The instrumentation and panels are clean and easy to understand and actually are exactly the same as the MD-11(minus one engine). It's extremely quiet up front, so much so you must actually read your instruments to ensure the engines are running, it's that quiet. The only complaint I had flying it was that the wing was old technology aerodynamics and it just kind of gave up around 32 or 33,000 feet, so you were always dodging storms instead of flying over them. Great report, Paul.....Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Wingin’ It! Paul Lucas Makarska was the ultimate destination of my first ever flight. The summer of 1984, from East Midlands to Split on a Yugotours Tupolev TU-134 as part of the package holiday to, what was then still, communist Yugoslavia. But they had a fledgling holiday industry. Yugoslavia was always a little less hardline than the other Warsaw Pact nations and was controlled less by the Soviet Union, so was happy to take the pound and the Deutschmark

May I just say, your comment about the haters. You have it on the head with it. You are right, the haters just hate the fact that other people actually get on with their lives and make their dreams come true. You have shown how to do that!!
Doing what you do shows a lot of people including myself, if you want something, go for it!! It may not be flying around for me, but what you are doing is showing me I can actually go for my dream job. I am thrilled to have been on your skyrocket ride of success from early on! I don't believe you need to utter a word about haters, though, because they're merely acknowledging the obvious change in your success. Change can be unsettling and scary, especially if it seems like the celebrity is changing. My humble advice is to stay grounded, remember from whence you've come and the self-portrait you've painted. Paul's life can get better, but Paul must never look down his nose at anyone as it does so...! Keep up the great trip reports and let those takeoffs and landings roll at regular speed, pretty-please!

Soo cool! I love the 717, it’s my favorite narrow-body aircraft! Flown twice on it, both times during the time I lived in Melbourne, Australia, with Qantaslink (HTI-SYD and SYD-HBA). Now I’m back in Europe, so I should definitely check-out Volotea’s 717-operated routes as well :)

Great video Paul. I do have a soft spot for the 717s and try to fly them whenever I can as I figure they'll be phased out in coming years. they're pretty quiet too, if you manage to sit up the front, but make quite a racket if you're sitting down the back!

Great video! I've never heard of that airline, so it's always fun to see. I get to fly Delta's 717 in June, for my second time. I'll be in 2A and I do love how quiet take off is! Just like the MD80... which if course is the 717's big brother. 😁👍

My first flight in a first class cabin was on the Delta 717! Short 2 hour flight from Chicago to Atlanta, but amazing flight! Quiet up front and even a retrofitted cabin! Hope to see them flying for a long time:)

Another great video. Love. FYI, Logan Airport in Boston Massachusetts in the US has a water taxi from downtown. I've never taken it but someday I will if/when I'm not in a hurry. But you are right, I too haven't seen this type of transportation to/from an airport widely provided. Thumbs up from me. Keep up the great work.

Went to Venice back in October on holiday. Spotted quite a few Volotea 717's there along with some CRJ's from Hop dominating the airfield. I was merely there on a holiday flying with EasyJet to and from Copenhagen.

I am really addicted to watching your travel reports. I really appreciate the fact that you are not focused purely on air travel only but you show the variety of transport means. Do you plan to show more with regards to the infrastructure in Eastern Europe maybe? Perhaps Night City Train service from Budapest to Warsaw? I wonder how would like that kind of service. Many thanks.

Have to thank you for the heads up on the Priority Pass. My wife is an art tutor on cruise liners and I told her about it a few months back. A quick switch of our business credit card and she got it free. Has used it in Dublin (twice), Belfast, Manchester (twice), Bridgetown and Dubai so far. Hoping Valletta airport has one as she flies back from there on Thursday. Thanks again.

Used to fly on these all the time with Airtran (when they were brand new) in the USA before they were folded into Southwest. I liked them. Was nice not having a middle seat on the left, especially when traveling with my kids. Was in Venice last summer...was picked up by private boat at the train station to our Airbnb.

What with too much time on my hands and an insatiable appetite for geography and google maps, coupled with your less than perfect flight plan and lack of time elapsed as to when you saw your unidentified town, I am pleased to tell you that the town is Makarska, Croatia. Keep up your travels, very enjoyable reports.

I see 717’s almost daily as they overfly my place on their approach into Sydney , they are Qantas link of course . Hamilton Island Airport has a boat quay too . It is used by the Hayman Island resort boats to shuttle its guests between the resort and the airport . Great video as usual Paul .

I don't know your channel very long but I like it and the thing you said about haters is so true. But there is one thing I don’t understand: You are friendly, intelligent, you seem very passionate and you helping people with your intelligent content. And you presentation is very calm and sympathic in a very fast world. It’s such a postive thing. And there is just one ad in that video. So, how in the world can someone like you have haters???? I really don’t get it...
