I went to the US Open for the first time and... it's a good thing I am a fan of the sport because the experience certainly could have been better. I liked that you talked about the ticket prices but I wanted to add that it is also prohibitively expensive once you're inside. Honey Deuces are $23 (before tip by the way) and baseball caps are $40. There were also a lot of crowding issues. I went for the Zheng/Sabalenka and Tiafoe/Dimitrov finals and, when I stepped out in between matches to check out the merch, it was stand-still foot traffic inside the stadium. Ultimately, much like the quality of tennis played, how expensive live events, in general, have become is a much bigger problem than the US Open; however, they certainly have enough money to get those prices down and implement more crowd control if they want to. It was still incredibly cool to be there, and especially to see Aryna play, but I'm going to have to be more on top of it when I go again next year.
Very underwhelming. The Tiafoe v Sinner would have been electrifying. I think Pegula vs Sab was really great tho. But I prefer to watch women’s tennis anyways
i still think Sinner likely would’ve won in straights if he played Tiafoe but i agree, Frances would’ve gotten them much more engaged than Taylor. I REALLY enjoy Pegula-Sabalenka too, one of my favorite matches of the year
Honestly, when I've see the match I've thinked wow. Cause Foe strategy against Fritz, was just a stupid Harakiri, when I've see how much energy he have lost in the first set, I've already knowed that he have losed expecially in 5 sets . Foe is clearly a more moving player than Fritz, and even Sinner expecting was to play against him and no Fritz, in an interview after his win against Draper he talks upon both, at cause of a question of a journalist, and clearly he expect more Foe than Taylor. Anyway how Italian, I'm happy for Jan 🇮🇹 and win in that way, 3 0 in New York is something unthinkable only few months ago 😅 very proud to give a little lesson to the States that control and rules us from the Ww2 times lol. I'm joking, I love the States ❤ I always pick Sasha how one of the fav, and he always lose in the end.
@@ChristiansCourtyou should expect these types of players in the finals of the us open. Fritz AND sinner are known for their calmness, it’s hard courts, and it’s the SLOW hard courts. It favours calm demeanour
@@ChristiansCourt Pegula-Sabalenka I agree was an electrifying finale. Sabalenka was just simply too good and just couldn’t be denied but Pegula pushed her to her limits. Really deserved a 3rd set where I think Sabalenka could have been shaken. Regarding the men, yes there should be some men’s GS winners other than Sinner-Alcaraz ( or Djokovic) in the next five years but who who are they? I can’t really pick any right now but I’m hoping A. Fils and Auger-Aliassime will be a force in the future but they were very disappointing in these championships.
I think it is a tad childish to call the tournament "letdown" because your favorite players lost earlier than you would like. It is a fan perspective, while you're trying to be a tennis observer. Still your channel is one of the good ones. I don't always agree with your takes, but you are honest and you obviously love the game. Keep up the good work. Try to be more neutral though.
This is my first time coming across this channel and has this dude ever touched a racquet in his life? He’s out talking about TikTok views and outfits as a measurement of tournament success. This is so low brow ChatGPT would have done a better job.
@@MichaelTTT-in2hr 1. some of those players i mentioned aren’t even my favorites lol and I feel like I did a good job explaining why their losses might’ve dampened the tournament 2. that was only ONE reason for my disappointment… I mentioned the overall quality of play, as well as the ticket pricing issue/celebrity focus
The US Open had so much potential however the Olympics on clay this year drained so many of the players, especially Carlos and Nole. I enjoyed the women’s matches much more. The best Men’s final was definitely at the Olympics between Carlos and Nole. This should’ve taken place at the US Open. Oh well the tennis schedule is insane and we end up with a mid US open this year. Appreciate your point of views! 🫡
Ticket prices are getting out of control. My uncle would go to the US Open every year. But even ground pass was too much for him. He ended up going during fan week but it’s sad for fans to be priced out now.
Thanks for your commentary about the state of tennis and the US Open, it was definitely “mid” this year. I went during fan week which is cool but changes were made that I didn’t like and it is becoming too expensive for most working and middle class fans to enjoy. Ticket prices are too high across board , so you just have the ultra rich or wealthy some who don’t even like tennis but r just there for clout purposes
I also feel like tennis media really doesn’t do a good job of doing more than broadcasting. I even really like Andy Rodrick’s show but they could get me more interested if they just actually do more post match commentary
I absolutely noticed that there was a difference in the crowds cheering. I didn't know why. The umpires didn't even have to quiet them down much when an American was playing an opposite country. Back in the day, the players did not have to beg the audience to cheer them on like they have to do nowadays. It is sad. You never saw Big Foe, Serena, Venus, Nadal, Feder, etc, doing it. On Instagram, they used to feature tennis players, not basketball players or movie stars, etc. It was interesting how they were following Steph Curry and wife around. I think he is a true fan. But I didn't think about the reason the cheering was mediocre this year. I am still miffed about Ben and Francis not scheduled to play at night!
I have to agree. The two matches where Alcaraz and Djokovic lost were very shocking and exciting but for me, that was the height of the tournament. The women’s final was an exciting match though. When top players get eliminated it sometimes seems to upset the apple cart of the rest of the tournament. The men’s final felt unbalanced with players that were not quite on the same level.
Are you sure you are not biased? Because US Open surpassed 1 million attendees for the first time in 2024, with 1,048,669 fans coming the venue throughout the Open's full three weeks - 8% increase over 2023. Attendance for the 2 weeks of the Main Draw reached a new high mark of 832,640.
The play was so slow, the towel boxes were so far away from service line, players toweled off after every point, numerous ball bounces pre serve, faulty serve tosses, multiple let’s, leaving court between sets, trainer breaks, incessant chatter to coaching boxes, together it just makes watching worse
Yes, the "coaching" gets annoying. It really changed the dynamics of watching a match. Watching is exhausting. I was better off following score online or watching half of a match. They should definitely speed up the courts at thr U.S. Open.
I don't think all the matches were bad, but I totally was down for the rant about ticket prices and the focus on celebrity, Wimbledon deserved that same speech too. The best matches in these slams tend to be in the first two rounds, and often on small courts, from players we barely know. And people say hey there were millions of people there, but there are still almost nobody watching some of these players, matches on grandstand that look like they have 30 people in the stand.
I agree, that's why my only US Open visit in 2017 was during the first week and with a grounds pass only. A better deal, and also more interesting for those who can appreciate the tennis without needing the big names.
So what’s the solution for all this upsets? Take control of the ball from the outside with a crazy technology to let win the favourite of a match? At the end of the day Tennis is like this, two individuals hitting a ball with a racket. Everything can happen and, instead of seeing this as a bad thing, this should be the beauty of this amazing sport. The fact that every single point matters. I’m sorry but the perfect Tournament does not exist. I agree with you with some of the things you mentioned, like the high ticket prices and the social media management that was soo focused on celebrities instead of players. But at the end we have to unknowledge that this was the most successfull US open in history (talking about US open views and fans).
That's a very strange comment, because Sinner answered numerous questions about the scandal, and it was constantly being reported by many people. It's just that Sinner is no drama. But Gosh, do you realise that a lot of people appreciate that? Your need for this type of drama from every player is definitely not the need of the majority of tennis fans.
i probably worded that incorrectly. i meant the Sinner situation wasn’t the added storyline many people expected which is fine but I still think it was a huge deal leading into the tournament that the world no.1 and title favorite had this hanging over his head. much credit to him and his PR team for how they handled everything and i’m glad there wasn’t much drama for him in that regard
@@ChristiansCourt I understood that, but it came out as if you had some regret that this situation had not been made into a bigger drama. I'm not sure it would help the tournament, in fact many commentators in the early days expressed doubts that it would overshadow the tournament.
Actually there was nothing strange about the comment to me. If you’re a fan of his and don’t care, then just say that. But that doesn’t excuse anything. Plenty of people who have doped supposedly “accidentally “ have received bans, period. The rules are the rules. I don’t like or understand WHY he gets a pass. Actually I do know why, we all do…. The one sided support for him screams entitlement. It just screams entitlement, the whole situation. Why is there a double standard?? Can you imagine if Serena Williams “accidentally” tested positive for a substance? The outrage would be so swift. I mean, people have accused her for years of doping.
@@coco-qd3sn FINALLY someone says it , that's the problem he answering doesn't change the main factor. there's a person failling a drug test twice and welll , he couldn't do nothing because he's a nice guy . yeah he's a nice guy we all love him but so was Lance Armstrong , a sweet genuine guy. But to win on the biggest stage people do anything. this rules serve to set the example. Letting someone go feels so off, on the internet became such a wierd "fans vs haters" when this shouldn't be about haters. Just fans of the sport wierded out about all that
It’s not strange, and it’s not about a 'need for drama.' It’s about the oddity of someone failing a drug test twice and still being allowed to walk around at a Grand Slam, of all places, while people are only just now finding out about it. If this was on a different slam a few years ago would be bigger than this internet things of "fans vs haters" when it isn't about that.
I really don't get it, we witnessed the ATP number 1 and the WTA number 2 winning this slam for the first time. Fritz and Pegula reached their first final in their home slam. Overall it turned out great, awarding the Americans who wanted the final so badly and confirming the hard court champions after the Australian open.
Great video and analysis, Christian. One of the worst developments was Rybakina withdrawing, and I really fear for her health. On the plus side, i do love the flow of the fast hard courts - it's fun to watch. Unfortunately, you're on point about American fans and the atmosphere, and as such it's probably the worst of the 4 majors. The only difference is, American players used to win tournaments, but that doesn't explain the apathy during Fritz-Foe, which was just head-scratching. The women's side did have some pretty good matches, and the wild comeback in Set 5 by Evans, which i didn't see. Great work. Cheers.
I think the apathy was somehow a good sign of an empathetic crowd - because Foe is a fan favourite but people didn't want to turn against another American (especially one like Fritz who can sometimes get down on himself)
I listened to Andy’s us open recap podcast with Kim Clijsters and thought it was interesting what they mentioned the tour schedule and “what would need to happen in order for that to change” alluding to major players unionizing and not participating in tournaments except for charity or something. What are your thoughts on this? What is just the Olympics or masters being longer? I want to watch Aryna, Iga, play for the next ten years and not be burnt out.
that is avalid but it only makes sense for top players who have endorsement money to fall back on. prize money isnt enough to pay the whole team. also even if some to play relaxed there is always someone gunning to be number 1 - i dont see Iga playing a relazed schedule knowing Sabalenka can catch up easily.
i get that the tours want to players to play the big tournaments (which is why the fine they for skipping 1000s) but i think they should be more lenient on that rule. I also believe some the top players shouldn’t shy away from eating the fine especially if they are truly burned out by the end of the season
The algo brought me here but based on this weird af “analysis” that had approximately 1% to do with actual tennis performance and 99% to do with “storylines” I won’t be subbing. If we wanted storylines we’d go watch the real housewives, not competitive tennis. Like wtf is the open supposed to do about the fact that Ben Shelton lost just bc he gets TikTok edits? A missed “opportunity”? To rig the match? Are u fr??
Personally i don’t think anything is “wrong” with people leaving matches when it becomes uncompetitive like the final set of Fritz and Tiafoe. That happens often in every sport really lol. And there are pros and cons with notable celebrities or influencers coming to a sporting event, yes it might make tickets more expensive but it also broadens the exposure of the event which i think tennis in America is truthfully after. What they’ve done tho and i have to give them credit, it make the matches much more accessible digitally. Extended, condensed and full matches uploaded so soon are great for the die hards who want to nerd out over the matches. So all in all i think they’re moving in a good direction. Ground pass tickets should definitely not be 200 bucks tho.
you make a good point about them doing a better job of pumping out highlights, condensed/full matches, and pressers… I didn’t give them enough credit for that for sure
Now USO is unmatched and unrivaled when it comes to getting those highlights and full matches out quickly. There is no comparison in regards to the other GS tournaments! Kudos to them for that for sure! 👏💕🎾
This years USOpen was mid, agreeing that majority of the players we wanted to see make the second week was out early. The schedule really needs to slim down, it’s a tournament every month seems like. The USOpen make plenty of sense for it to be so pack, it’s a tournament within the states which is easier to come to, none of the early stage celebrities were showing for the top players until they were all gone and just heard about “American tennis players.”
I attended the US open back in 2022, and I have to agree many in attendance at those marquee matches aren’t regular tennis fans. They’re people with money and oh boy does the US open price gouge. Everything on the grounds are ridiculously expensive, from the tickets to the food and merchandise. I get that it’s a business but it’s coming off as way too commercialized now. The US open consistently ranks as the least favorite major next to the French Open and I can see why. Concerning the tennis, we’ve definitely had better in the past. Maybe Alcaraz and Djokovic’s early lost did affect the buzz. As for Sinner, I think he handled things masterfully. He’s so mature and you’re not gonna get drama from him. He kinda won the US open in a low key fashion despite the noise.
i was attended in 2022 and the food/merchandise prices are definitely INSANE lol. but that’s yo be expected at many sporting events but for the tickets to be astronomically high too is not great
The Miami Open is a better value overall. Miami does charge for qualifying rounds but you'll see great matches. The fan week is great for kids at the US Open and I was suprised how packed it was last year and this year at the US Open. The grandstand seats are far more comfortable in Miami v NY. Check out both events in 2025.
There were mqny surprises both good and bad, but overall i was pleased. Two new champions plus some new blood making waves. Not a great tournament but good enough. Carlos losing was a huge oxygen sucker, but Popyrin defeating Novak purked up the whole joint. Overall a very interesting tournament.
I mean I am a sinner fan but he's not always the most exciting to watch cause he doesn't put in his 100% unless he's forced to like there were matches especially in the beginning of the tournament that were straight up boring... including the final. The only times the final got interesting was when fritz raised his level but still that lasted like 10 minutes. The crowd also didn't seem to gaf about him I'm sorry they looked more engaged during the women's matches for some reason (though I didn't watch a lot of the american men's matches cause they were airing way too late for us). The women's tournament was a lot of fun for me as a huge sabalenka fan and she also had a great narrative, paolini not making the qf was disappointing but still a good run, and I was really rooting for muchova to make the final but she still did amazing. Completely skipped the doubles the moment paolini/errani lost but I still tuned in for the mixed doubles and that was the most exciting match literally just cause my entire family loves errani so much and her and vavassori have great chemistry but the match itself wasn't that great, the americans seemed to underperform cause of nerves and just looked way too tense the whole time. Overall though I'm happy with how it went cause the ratings were crazy insane *3+m people tuning in to watch the final in italy alone will be great for the sport
Sorry to this man (the guy who said the tournament was brilliant) but no, it wasn't! Lol. I'm with you and a lot of other folks. It was meh. It had its moments. I liked the JasP/Bibi match; Popyrin/Novak; Frances/Ben; Naomi/Jelena; Saba/JPeg final. But for the most part, it was not that interesting. I think with Carlos and Novak going out early, it took away (imo) THE most anticipated matchup to see - Carlos and Novak in a GS tournament on hard courts. So, yeah, sorry to that man, brilliant is not one of the words I would use for this years USO! 😢
It was honestly thrilling because you got to see who was going to take advantage of the situation and how was everyone going to handle it! The level played wasn’t high but the anticipation was high. We already know how good Alcaraz and Djokovic are. Carlos struggles on hard courts in general and Novak just battled someone with confidence to beat him rather than an opponent that walks in feeling defeated. Sinner played at so many different levels during the match and each match, and that is how he beat people. Sinner has to play about 70% his best to win but honestly I think without the pressure he was not raising his level, but rather just changing his opponent’s rhythm
Lol. Same thing happened with the Paul/Sinner match - everyone just up and left. To be fair, it was pretty late in the day. But, I feel it impacted Paul in that last set, suddenly having no more supporters in the stands. That being said, I'm a Djokovic fan, so when he's not playing, it's all a wash for me.
Worst USO. Carlos out early made me lose interest immediately. Sinner’s situation is still simmering with respect to him given preferential treatment and Sinner is not an interesting player to me. The celebrity focus also overshadowed the tennis.
So negative, you talked about could of would of should of, thats not the way tennis works, it is what it is, the winner moves on, not who should have moved on smh….
3 of the 4 finalists have no aura; Sabalenka was the only one. I would have preferred any other pair of Americans to Pegula and Fritz. 100% of Sinner's appeal is from being the #1 player.
Great analysis as usual :) I agree most of the matches were not the best tennis I've seen, but I walked away from the tournament with a new appreciation for the generational talent of Sabalenka and Sinner. Sinner's personality needs some space to shine, So I think it was positive in this instance that Alcaraz was eliminated early. Alcaraz is so extra that he tends to suck all the air out of the room. It's not much of a rivalry if one person gets 90% of the attention. This was Sinner's moment. Now if only we could get Sinnerlenka as a power couple...:)
I don't think Carlos is "so extra" and gets most of the attention as opposed to Jannik. His personality just happens to be an effervescent one and that smile invites one to join in; same as with Jas Paolini. People (sports reporters) used to say they loved to cover Serena press conferences but not so much Venus'. It's just different personalities and there's room for them both. 😉💕🎾
Influencers ruin everything 😢 I’m all for tennis influencers and tennis content creators being invited but when it starts to turn into a Coachella for influencers and celebrities, that’s when real tennis fans will lose out
I think the best two players won and deserved it, but I would have loved a few more exciting matches. Pegula vs. Iga and Pegula vs. Muchova were the best in my opinion. Men side felt flat.
Young and Townsend made it all the way to the finals unfortunately they lost but had a great run! Nay nay disappointed me loved the fits so sad for her redemption but my girl will be back! Coco I have no words for my sis gone make a turn around. Big lanka did what we knew she would. The whole sinner situation wasn’t fair. I don’t think he should’ve been able to compete. 2 failed test and no ramifications??? Absolutely not. Jack Draper really impressed me I hope he comes back in better health. Tiafoe absolutely could’ve won the SF. Pergula did her 1 2 I’m proud she will be back!! Overall tennis as a whole this year has been mid it’s like no real top dawgs 😅it’s a circus. Love your content and coverage ❤
Honestly, there's no charisma in the players. This generation doesn't have the uniqueness players used to have. We could tell the difference in playing style and strategy players had. All we get now is ball bashing trying to outplay opponents. Sabalenka and Swiatek is an exemple of not having variety.
Jack Draper was HUGE news outside USA. Big news in UK media I think you are a bit too biased for United States. Jack first British man reach US Open semifinals in over 12 years. Jack did beat a top player Alex De minaur. Alex was top 10 in world at US Open. I know Alex isn't star but Jack did well to beat him. Jack deserves props for beating the guys after Alcaraz huge upset.
I didn't watch the final for this reason, the slams this year especially on the men's side felt... No semi or final was at the level of the Olympic final. First 3 slams had many top 10 players losing from 2-0 up, momentum was shifting instead of both players doing their best simultaneously. Men's tennis used to be so reliable in delivering quality in the latter stages now it feels like WTA . Wimbledon on the women's side did deliver, thos QFs, semis and final those women were giving it their all.
it’s interesting because the AO & RG finals were five sets but the quality wasn’t that great. the last GREAT men’s slam final is probably Wimbledon 2023
@@ChristiansCourt carlos was killing it at W with those winners, I didnt enjoy that match though I felt Novak had gone away mentally - it reminded me of that 2019 WImbledon Men's final where the drama was high but...
The favourites didn't win?!? Seriously? Sinner is World Number 1 & Sabalenka is World Number 2 , both won Cincinnatti and AO so HOW were they NOT the favourites? Please explain
@@al1976-v7m I don’t know much about tennis. I just knew that Djokovic and Alvarez are numbers 1 and 2. They are also the Olympic gold and silver medalists. I just expected them to win. Sabalenka is a just a tough competitor. Congratulations to (the) Sinner and Sabalenka.
@@gloria7876 yeah it's more complicated than that ;) hardcourt tennis very different from clay. Ranking is a cumulative number that doesn't necessarily reflect Current form. Olympics important to some players but not to others Djokovic not getting any younger. Best of 5 format in Slams very physical. Lots of things to consider.
there are four majors in tennis and about 8-9 1000 tournaments throughout the season. the second biggest tournament below the majors are the year-end championships where the top 8 players from that season compete for the final trophy of the year
Tennis has become too homogenized, with everyone a baseliner and everyone having two handed backhands. So many of the points follow the same script. I miss the serve and volley players. Back in the day the ultimate test for a baseliner is to face a relentless net rusher and pass them. The only way to bring parity back is to make the wood racquet the standard again. If Major League Baseball can make alterations to their sport why can't Tennis?
Aw, diddums. This guy was left feeling underwhelmed by this year's US Open. Seems Mummy and Daddy didn't teach him that expectation is the root of all disappointment. Seems he'd prefer a sensationalized tournament in which all his would've-could've-should've fantasies go through to the next round based on who has the best outfit, who does modelling on the side, who hits the most spectacular shots, who has the most potential, who has a good look, who played the most exciting opening sets... To hell with actual games, actual results, and viewers worldwide having the greatest TV coverage ever. There's a Gen-Z TikTok crowd to please, y'all!
Hey Christian you know how I always love your analyses, but this time I think you're speaking too much from a US-centric point of view. If you were italian, for example, you would think it's amazing Italians won both the singles and the mixed doubles and you'd say this was an incredible US open because winning your second slam is a big deal, and so is the continuing success of Errani in doubles, making her the single Italian player with the most number of titles (including a career golden grant slam in doubles..). This said, you're right, the US Open has a history of being the most hit or miss of the slams given it comes at the end of a grueling season, made even worse this year from the Olympics and the changes of surface. Plus, honestly, tennis has always been mid, it's just in the last 20 years we always had 3 and a half people who assured us at least two/three insane matches at every big tournament, typically in the semis and final. Going forwards it looks like at best we are going to get one potentially great match only..? Still 🫶 your channel, of course!!
yes it’s definitely from a US-centric POV as i’m American but Jannik Sinner’s win simply didn’t move the needle for a lot of ppl despite that great accomplishment. i don’t think that was much of a nationality thing.
So enjoyed your coverage ! I have to agree the excitement usually felt during the US Open was not there this year ! Thrilled for Sabalanka ! Thank u for all your work!
To be honest Tennis has been a let down ever since Serena retired... there's been a few matches here and there that keep you glued but it's lost that STAR presence that fills stadiums - the WTA finals are proof of thise hence they're going to Saudi Arabia
Tennis is an unpredictable and unscripted sport. The main reason for that is because it is an individual game not a team event. So everything cannot be put into a mould like say an basketball or baseball. At the moment, tennis in general is devoid of that quality tennis that we've been used to from players like Federer and the rest of stunning athletes like Serena and her contemporaries. Tennis, I believe, right now, is in a transition period. You can see the quality just isn't there. Most of these guys are young and they need time. It could be like this for many years. There just has to be a great story about a player that really grabs your attention. The Williams sisters gave us that, Djokovic with his battle from becoming a star out of his war torn earlier years. The tenacity and aura of Nadal. The British underdog winning Wimbledon twice after no British player in over 70 years in Andy Murray. So tennis, in a nutshell is devoid of true superstars with outrageous talent and charisma. Only time will tell if this changes.
Bad drawing because Alcaraz couldn't beat Van...at the second turn? 😂 How ridiculous is that! Van der Sculpt ranks 68 and Alcaraz is N. 1 (according to you).😊
So what were the crowds cheering for when there were little to no darker skin people playing? It seems like you're focusing on a person's skin instead of the product being played. Why do you think that is? 🤔
How did you enjoy this year's US Open compared to year's past? Did any of y'all attend the tournament in person?

It was still incredibly cool to be there, and especially to see Aryna play, but I'm going to have to be more on top of it when I go again next year.
Yes once Coco Krispies was eliminated😅

The best Men’s final was definitely at the Olympics between Carlos and Nole. This should’ve taken place at the US Open. Oh well the tennis schedule is insane and we end up with a mid US open this year. Appreciate your point of views! 🫡
the Olympics for sure had a major impact on the play. I expect next year to bring us higher quality tennis 🤞🏾
Wow
just amazing man❤
it is a complete video covering everything from the smallest
keep it up and best of luck 🔥
Ticket prices are getting out of control. My uncle would go to the US Open every year. But even ground pass was too much for him. He ended up going during fan week but it’s sad for fans to be priced out now.
Thank your government making inflation prices so high
how much was the ground pass?
What did you think happens in a capitalist society?
USO had the lowest viewership in years.
@@beatricepiccoli63 watch the full video… i addressed the fan numbers aspect
We will miss you Dominic Theim 😢
i completely forgot to mention him 😭
@@ChristiansCourt oh no 😭. It’s ok
But at the end we have to unknowledge that this was the most successfull US open in history (talking about US open views and fans).
about second last Line: unknowledge -> recognise
Exactly!!! Well put!!!
Watch the vid
@@mike04574 I did, just have a different opinion
@mike04574 this channel salty because all the diversity players got knocked out early
Not the Korda mention opening up the draw as if he was a contender in the first place 💀
he was playing good this summer but yeah you can’t count on him to do well at the majors at all 🤣
I listened to Andy’s us open recap podcast with Kim Clijsters and thought it was interesting what they mentioned the tour schedule and “what would need to happen in order for that to change” alluding to major players unionizing and not participating in tournaments except for charity or something.
U are spot on about the vibe of the US Open, it seemed more celebrity focused then player of real fan focused, what a shame
He kinda won the US open in a low key fashion despite the noise.
i was attended in 2022 and the food/merchandise prices are definitely INSANE lol. but that’s yo be expected at many sporting events but for the tickets to be astronomically high too is not great
IT WAS GREAT, ALTHOUGH BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED THAT NADAL HAD TO MISS YET ANOTHER US SLAM. ❤
I agree it just wasn't as exciting as I remember previous years being, I thought it was just me. Great video!
by the time Carlos and Coco exited, i was over it. jannik plays good tennis but he's boring and Fritz isn't that much better.
Very good analysis, thank you so much. 👍
rublev and zverev beating themselves at the moment with unforced errors.
I think we were all happy for sabalenkas win, whereas, we were not as happy seeing sinner win. You cannot hide the truth
Think you'll be unhappy for long.
Worst USO. Carlos out early made me lose interest immediately. Sinner’s situation is still simmering with respect to him given preferential treatment and Sinner is not an interesting player to me. The celebrity focus also overshadowed the tennis.
I’m completely agree with your opinion stated in the video
So negative, you talked about could of would of should of, thats not the way tennis works, it is what it is, the winner moves on, not who should have moved on smh….
3 of the 4 finalists have no aura; Sabalenka was the only one. I would have preferred any other pair of Americans to Pegula and Fritz. 100% of Sinner's appeal is from being the #1 player.
I agree. Fritz is so boring to watch
More like 110%.
you’re spot on im afraid
As an Italian I loved it. It's a question of perspectives, I suppose.
Good job, Christian 🎉
thank you!
The WTA matches were far more superior than the ATP side in this tournament, the whole 2 weeks.
Honestly, there's no charisma in the players.
This generation doesn't have the uniqueness players used to have. We could tell the difference in playing style and strategy players had. All we get now is ball bashing trying to outplay opponents. Sabalenka and Swiatek is an exemple of not having variety.
I loved it and I love the best out of 5. I loved the Final. Women's and Men's
Jack Draper was HUGE news outside USA. Big news in UK media
I think you are a bit too biased for United States. Jack first British man reach US Open semifinals in over 12 years. Jack did beat a top player Alex De minaur. Alex was top 10 in world at US Open. I know Alex isn't star but Jack did well to beat him. Jack deserves props for beating the guys after Alcaraz huge upset.
Brits over hype all of their players. I live in Britain. I see it up close.
Draper did good but De minaur wasn't in great shape.

@@DaveOwen-vn6ie As I said there seems to be a lot of potential. Congratulations to Sinner the winner 🥰 and Sabalenka.
@@gloria7876 yeah it's more complicated than that ;) hardcourt tennis very different from clay. Ranking is a cumulative number that doesn't necessarily reflect Current form. My highlight was Andy Dalton bringing his losing energy to the Djokovic vs Popyrin match as he cheered for Novak from the front row...
😂
It is a disappointing US Open. Lost interest to watch at men’s semifinals stage.
As a new tennis fan, do we only watch the five majors only? Real question
there are four majors in tennis and about 8-9 1000 tournaments throughout the season. the second biggest tournament below the majors are the year-end championships where the top 8 players from that season compete for the final trophy of the year

Fritz Tiafoe what hapoened to Tiafoe because he outplayed him from the baseline

@@ChristiansCourt at your “channel”, yes

To be honest Tennis has been a let down ever since Serena retired... there's been a few matches here and there that keep you glued but it's lost that STAR presence that fills stadiums - the WTA finals are proof of thise hence they're going to Saudi Arabia
the better player in the match wins...
Oh please 🙏 it's totally scripted
Im glad collins is retiring. No sportsmanship
It was a disappoint in a lot of areas.😝😝
This guy is 4.0?
Bad drawing because Alcaraz couldn't beat Van...at the second turn? 😂 How ridiculous is that! Van der Sculpt ranks 68 and Alcaraz is N. 1 (according to you).😊
The crowd just looks to cheer for whoever has darker skin. No offense. Poor Fritz was like playing in a foreign country vs Tiafoe
The crowd was rooting for the more popular player
Fritz and Pegula are just boring players. Foe, Shelton, Paul, Collins, Coco, and Navarro all have aura
Playing the race card😂 Foe is friends with so many stars outside of the sport and is much more likable, so ofc he has the crowd. Casual
Are you grievance shopping? Sorry, that's out of stock.
So what were the crowds cheering for when there were little to no darker skin people playing? It seems like you're focusing on a person's skin instead of the product being played. Why do you think that is? 🤔
