@@MartyMusic hey marty, would you say this can save people money because of the song patches? I'm planning on getting this amp because of the different tones and effects it has instead of buying 100 dollar pedals.
100%, compared to the amount of pedals you'd have to buy to replicate all the sounds in a Katana, you're saving hundreds, if not thousands of bucks. def get this amp!

I've loved this riff since i was a teen and recently started playing electric. Loved this tutorial, Marty, it was simple with those chords and you taught so fkin well and i was able to learn it in two days . BTW this is perfect for beginners, no complex chord shapes or transitions

I learned this song a while ago, it’s a great alternate picking exercise. And also a great palm muted alternate picking exercise. Learning this riff really taught me a lot.

Showing how to move the Index finger up made this Much easier for me, thanks. I was playing it with fingers 1, 3and 4 before. Which hurt. So much better the way you teach it.

i gave up on this a while ago, gettin that main riff down solid was hard because i would stumble coming off the last 2 bass notes and into the little 9 10 9 thing. i just got it down solid, but i play the second bass note as an open d instead of 12 on the D. that allows me to stay my middle and ring on 9 and 10, marty that was a great tip about using the same finger for the last 2 bass notes of the main riff, i just use my middle instead of index. that was literally all i needed to put the whole effing thing together. 🤣🤣🤘🤘👍 thanks again marty!!

Have to admit at the beginning I was like "Are we playing brain stew or last resort?😂"
i cant believe i just realized this
It's fairly similar, except the progression in Last Resort goes back to a previous chord whereas Brain Stew continues descending to another chord.
I honestly don't know how people have their fingers so relaxed without muting the string below. That ring ringer on E is killing me, constantly muting the A unless I really cradle it round and hurt my wrist. Man guitar is hard AF

Could you do a video perhaps explaining a checklist of things to learn in order on guitar when starting off? I.e right from string names, to scales, to chords in an order so you can work through a list, videos are great btw

Hey, Marty! I love your content and really hope you see this. My father and I both own a guitar and we have a lot of conversations about your content. We really love everything you do, but I'm a bit saddened by the lack of shinedown content (as the only song you have on them is simple man, which they simply covered). It would be awesome if you covered a few more of their songs that were acoustic/electric friendly (such as songs they've played live with both electrics and acoustics), or if you did a small series over time to cover their music.

My one question, why tf do NO GUITAR TEACHERS ever show the amp settings in their RUclips tutorials? Like yeah, you gave a link, but showing a quick snapshot of it could help heavily. Marty is the only one who even provides the amp settings anyways, so I’m thankful he at least gives a link
