Genesis 6 was an amazing tournaments because of the sets, players, and story it contained. I think 2019 will be a hard yet good year for Melee.
As Omni put it, one player cannot kill a game the size of melee, and also that the smash documentary has basically immortalized melee. As long as people are willing to watch, which they will always be, then melee will thrive.

Plup actually flubbed so much that match he kinda deserved the loss honestly. Any character would've punished just as hard. Not to mention he missed a pretty easy up throw uair when he was still second stock :/

I feel like the tech issues were enough to completely invalidate this set. It's akin to asking a guy to scream in the players' ears for this set and conduct every other set in a soundproof room.
I love Ultimate with all my heart but Melee gameplay is just something special man (p.s. I think Ultimate will be around for a LONG time. Its gameplay is different, but still ridiculously technical and entertaining in its own right)

there were tons of these random error screens on stream and also for some reason the games were darker than normal melee
