You were not kidding Greg when you said it was a bit tricky to get the spring bars back in with the new bracelet. Lucky I saw your video so I knew it could eventually work or I might have given up altogether. :) But, inspired by your call for patience, I did finally get it done, Thanks.
Great video, I put a combi bracelet on a GW5000U and it was a complete and utter nightmare, in the end it took me 4 days worth of trying on and off to eventually get in on!!! I swore never again but I’ve just bought one for my AWG-M100 so here we go again ha ha! When I do the job I’ll try to remember your words of stay calm!! Some good tips on the video, thanks 👍🏻
@@GoodTimekeeper I’ve done it now, looks absolutely brilliant and it was surprisingly really easy to do, I was dreading it after the last time on the GW-5000 which was the worst experience of my entire life bar none!! (4 days of trying and trying and trying to get it on) But this just went on with barely any hassle, little bit of poking with a watch tool to check the pins were located and a bit of wobbling around of the end link to double treble check they were home, easy as pie spring bar links and good to go, probably took 20 minutes total, i couldn’t believe it.
Great video. Quick question, do you find that the bracelet bands pull on your arm hair at all? I've tried bands like this before and they like to pull a bit too often. Has this been true for you?
Typically the spring bars that come on watches that use Combi bracelets are different size than the ones that don't. Example Squares with combi bracelets come with 19/13 sprigbars while regular ones come with 20/13mm. Maybe the shorter middle is to help getting the spring bars in. I think the combi springbars also have a smaller diameter (1.8mm vs 2.0mm for the regular ones).
Hi I have a AWG-M100 watch I bought forever ago. I’m looking to change out the band from the resin to something else. Where can I look for replacements? Also maybe the outer ring ( the bezel ) too other than black. I need it for AWG -M 100
Hi Greg, do you have the G-Shock GW-400 in your collection? It has vibration alarm, multi band 6, tough solar, moon phases, tides, five alarms, world time, 200m wr, etc. I think its one of the most complete casio that exists. The model was released in 2005. Have a big hugh from spain and regards. Keep going with your channel, its fantastic!
Thank you for this information! I looked up watches with vibration alarms on Shockbase.org and it did NOT show that the GW-400 had a vibration alarm. But the manual for its module DOES show information about the vibration alarm plus atomic time reception in the USA and Japan. Before this, I thought Casio had never made a watch with both atomic time reception and a vibration alarm. But, to my knowledge, they don’t offer both of those features together anymore, except for atomic timekeeping through the Bluetooth link. Of course, I don’t have the GW-400. I bought the MTG-900 in 2006 and it was my first G-Shock. Before that I had a few Casio watches and only one of them had atomic time reception (but it didn’t have tough solar, multiple alarms, moon phases nor tides). Otra vez, muchas gracias.
No. The bracelet for this G-Shock, for example, will not work on any other G-Shock model as far as I know. The bracelet for the G-Shock Squares is a different one, even though they look almost the same.
I haven’t given them the full beater treatment. I tend to wear the knockoff bracelets when I’m well dressed and trying not to get dirty. As such, they are holding up very well. I still prefer the genuine Casio bracelets which feel heavier and stronger, but the knockoffs aren’t weak. They are just so lightweight.
I don’t know why the bracelets cost so much but it’s always been the case for this style of bracelet if it’s the genuine Casio product. If they were less expensive I would definitely put these on more of these AWG-M100 watches.
I could seriously watch your videos all day. So relaxing.
Ditto

Nice video with detailed instructions. Thank you!
In watch repairs and modding patience-is-a-virtue!
I like the band on your left hand for the square g-shock. Do you have a video of that particular band or model number?
I like the writing on the band.
That’s the new GW-S5600U which comes with a carbon fiber band with the writing on it. I bought from a Japanese retailer online.

I hope it goes well for you. I always like the results, even when the process can be tricky.

Yes I fitted a combi on my GW-M5610 so much easier to use 16mm X 1.8mm spring bars and NOT the 16mm X 2.0mm which are fitted to the resin strap

Looks good 👍🏼
Thanks! This was helpful.
I finally gave up trying to fit using the spring bars. Used good ole crazy glue!!!

Are the bracelets universal for all Casio watches? I don’t remember if you had mentioned that in one of your videos

I remember you made some videos about the aliexpress knockoff combi bracelets. How do they hold up Greg?

@@GoodTimekeeper So I guess they're good alternative if you're not going to beat the watch too much.. thanks
GAW-100 BEST!
That bracelet costs 2/3 the price of the watch itself. Shame.
