Flew my drone over the new years eve fireworks in Lima, Peru. Looks like the start of the air campaign in Iraq.
I re-did my fireworks over Lima video. Someone on reddit commented that it was missing music so here is what I did:
At around midnight I flew the drone over all the fireworks at an altitude of around 200m. I wanted to fly lower but I could just picture someone getting lucky with a direct bottle rocket hit to the drone so I stayed up high. All the footage was taken in 1080HD. I tried to keep the drone moving to make for more interesting shots. I tried to use multiple camera moves when I could to make it better. For example translating the drone to the right while panning to the left etc.
After I had all the footage I imported all the best parts to iMovie. Then I simply split the clips into a bunch of different parts and randomly rearranged them with a cross fade between each one.
The music is Perpetuum Mobile by Penguin Cafe Orchestra. I also dowloaded the fireworks sound effects from iTunes and added it.
When I uploaded the final video to RUclips it detected the fireworks sound and automatically filed a filed a copyright claim on behalf the company that made them. Now all advertisement revenue shown on the video will go directly to them. Interesting.

I am originally from Colorado in the USA and have been working as a wildlife photographer in the Peruvian Amazon in a place called Tambopata for the past five years. I lead biologists, entomologists and tourists on scientific and photographic expeditions to remote regions of the Amazon jungle to discover new species. The amazon is an amazing place and lots of people go there on vacations. If you are interested in visiting the amazon jungle I recommend these two places.

Funny thing is I live in a country that is so called free. Yet I can't light a firework without my neighbor calling the cops cause it's past 9 PM. You guys keep doing your thing PERU, it's a beautiful thing.

Quiero saber si hay otra mega ciudad q haga esto..definitivamente no, en rio, sidney, o dubay puedes ver orden y espectaculo, pero es solo una parte de su ciudad, un lugar determinado para eso.. en lima en nuestros 46 distritos ves eso, es una tradicion q jamas se podra cambiar , es donde la gente expresa su jolgorio , y hasta penas com la quema de estos pirotecnicos, y en el año nuevo , pues despiden " quemando el año viejo" ..es bravazo tambien porque se acortan las brechas entre las clases sociales, ya q esos cuetes tienen un costo promedio de 100 soles cada uno($30) y la gente de menos recursos los gasta tanto como el de clase A porque es costumbre, y porque saben q cada limeño es parte del espectaculo, y mientras mas seamos, mas linda sera la fiesta...pd: amo los perros como a nadie, pero un par de tapones, una escondida en el lugar mas recondito, y una persona q lo consuele en ese momento, seria lo mas acorde, no sean insensatos ni aguafiestas los defensores de los animales, son tres horas del 25 , y las tres primeras horas del año nuevo q los tienen q proteger...EL PERU ES SU CULTURA MILENARIA? MACHUPICCHU, SU GASTRONOMIA...PERO EL PERU, LES GUSTE O NO, TAMBIEN ES ESTA LINDA FIESTA!!

Ojalá esta tradición no se termine en el Perú ya que somo coheteros por naturaleza

en la mayoria de latinoamerica es asi, pero segun se, solo en Argentina es casi parecido. despues en los demas paises no es tan hard xD lo que les sorprende mas es que es en todos lados y al mismo tiempo, mientras en sus paises eso lo hacen empresas o el estado en lugares especificos :)
