      Hey, maryanne!!
      Please please pleeeeze post some videos of your own.
      Pretty please!
      Then the rest of the world can criticize every minuscule thing, and tell you all the parts that are wrong, boring, useless etc.
      C'mon girl! Man up!
      Seriously, this video has so much helpful and creative information in it, and YOU decided to complain about having to endure cap tightening???
      Again I say, be brave enough to post your own videos, and see how much crap you'd have to deal with.

    Like a hundred years ago, before Distress sprays came about, Tim Holtz did a You Tube video on how to make your own sprays with his re-inkers. He did exactly what you did.

      Interesting 🤔

    • @caroloconnor1688
      @caroloconnor1688 3 месяца назад +1

      Doublet is correct. Tim said 16 drops to a sprayer the size of your distress sprayer not the mister.

  • @avaDesdemona
    @avaDesdemona 3 месяца назад +5

    You can also add two drops of the re-inker to a water brush and top it up with water.
    For those who, like me, love the colors but hate the mess of the sprays (I craft at my computer desk a lot and the sprays just go everywhere)

    You are a genius! I did the math and doing it this way you could buy 1 reinker bottle and create the same amount cost wise in 13 distress ink sprays! That is huge money savings. I love your frugal heart. I'm going to try this with my distress oxides to see if it works too.

    • @valumen
      @valumen 3 месяца назад +1

      Hi, I am curious- did it work with the oxide reinkers as well?

    • @katherineblackburn813
      @katherineblackburn813 3 месяца назад +3

      I also used my reinkers on baking twine wrapped around a ruler. And made diagonal lines. This way I had coordinating twine in all my colors. For the frugal hackers out there! Happy crafting!

    Tim Holtz said that it is all in the ink. He loves the walnut brown crystals, as do I, because of how they moved the color around. He was persistent with Ranger, and now we have reaction inks. So, if you have water active inks, you can make your own sprays. I use distilled water and add mica in mine. ❤❤❤

    Before they sold the sprays, the protocol was to do just what you did. They started selling it already mixed some time later. They are more convenient because they’re already mixed but are the same thing.

    Thanks for this video, Tiffany. I found it really helpful. I had to chuckle when you added the water from the Distress Sprayer rather than pouring it into the Mini Mister. Totally unrelated to card making, but I have a wood filler powder that you just mix with water to make wood filler. I got it because I don't use wood filler that often on my woodworking or other projects, and even what was in the smallest containers would dry out & become useless before I'd finished it. So when I saw the can of powder, I jumped at it. For a long time, I'd measure out powder - trying to use no more than I'd need so as not to waste - & then dribble water in from the faucet. I always seemed to get too much water, though. I don't know what inspired me, but I finally got the idea to "measure" the water by spraying from a small spray bottle into the powder in my mixing container. Works perfectly! It makes it so much easier to add it gradually, and I don't have to worry about mindlessly turning the faucet handle the wrong way when I want to shut off the water. LOL So you have now proven that the same concept works for mixing DIY distress sprays. Anyway, thanks again for sharing this. Take care, have a wonderful day, & I hope you have a great Mother's Day, too! :)

    This is great. I don’t have any reinkers but now I’m thinking I should get them. I’ve added Perfect Pearls to plain water for some shine but now I’ll try adding them to sprays made with reinker. I love your videos. Keep them coming. P.S. I like when they are done live. Screwing on the lids remind me to do it so I don’t make a huge mess. 🙂

    Thanks for doing this Tiffany. After watching Tim for the last 20 years, I too was under the understanding that using reinkers diluted with water would not give the same magical wicking effects. I think from now on I’m going to finish completing my reinkers collection before buying any more sprays. I’m pretty sure I have about 70% of both, just not the colors I use infrequently.
