Beautiful iconic photos from both of you! But what I loved most were the iconic reactions as you both took in the visuals of a true masterpiece - Big Sur.
Love the realism both of you display on your successes and failures on every trip. Thanks for keeping it real. I can't wait to experience the sights and sounds of Big Sur once again. Thanks for taking us along with you guys.
I loved this episode guys . .what beautiful locations you found on your adventure .. so good. Hey Chris I'm loving your video editing (Assuming you did this one .. !!!) Take care. RT
Thank you so much Richard! This was edited by both myself and Chris 😁 I got the timeline together, and Chris smoothed out everything and put the pro touches on it!
Glad you guys had a great time along the California coast! Looks like a lot of great memories. Thanks for taking us along. Glad you were able to get the tripod up and running! Have a great week!
@@PereaPhotography I hear ya man! The gas prices are insanely high in California right now. Hope you guys get back there again soon. There's so much to see!
Great vlog and shots there Mike and Chris. Glad the tripod parts turned up Chris. The aquarium footage was great too. I love to see the illuminated jelly fish in action. Thanks guys!
Great video. I enjoy seeing how you scout out the location and then wait for the light. The fog reminded me of the trip my wife and I took to the Oregon coast. Lots of BW photos from that one 😒.
Great video , brings back memories when my wife and I drove from San Francisco to Santa Barbara, we also did the famous 17mile drive and been golfers we had to stop at Pebble beach . Also fuel up at big sur ( was a gaz station across the street from big sur Bakery ) wonder if that’s was the same spot lol 😂
Alana and I watched this yesterday when it dropped but on our TV. (It's hard to comment there) Enjoyed the video. Hope the tire is okay as well as your wallet 😲.
@@12stockweb haha you since I figured the Perea's already hit the road to run away from those gas prices! I've only ever seen the Ragged Point region, so it's cool seeing what everyone finds a little further north.
@@brianbeattyphotography 🙌🏻 i’ll fly into LAX and I’m hoping to get up to Carmel. Will Be part photography, part vacation. I’ll dm you and let you know. (also, how do I have 2 RUclips accounts?????)
That quiet morning looked amazing, even without the brilliant light. That gas price though. Holy smokes. Loved the yellow blooms along the misty coastline. What a magical spot and perfect timing! Love your coastal shot at 9:52, you can almost smell the sea when looking at it. It's hard to picture a bird with a wingspan of 9.5 feet. It's like the Liger of the air. Doesn't seem like it can be real, and yet...it is. Fantastic to see the MistDefender out in the wild! Thanks for the kind shoutout!
Appreciate it buddy! We got some great use out of the Mist Defender! And yeah those condors are awesome! We get them up in the Vermilion cliffs here in Northern AZ on the Navajo Bridge. Pretty cool birds and huge!
I took a day trip here from San Francisco back in April to shoot the coastline. I found a breathtaking scene around every bend of the Pacific Coast Highway. There was not enough hours in the day to stop and explore each pullout. I'm glad you two found your go to spot for some epic photos. If you can get back to visit in the springtime, there is not as much fog on the coast as there is in the summer. Looking forward to watching all about your next adventure.
Thank you so much Dan! And yes we found that you could pull of the highway just about anywhere and take photos along that beautiful coastline. We’ll definitely be back!
The second you said gas in Big Sur I can thought “Nooooo”. Pacific Grove is the place to stay. Beautiful scenery, wandering deer and you have to check out Asilomar Conference Grounds. In fact a stay there is so relaxing. Thanks for sharing. I’m trying to head there this month for all the classic car events.
That place is really fantastic. Monterrey Peninsula is pretty high on my list of dream places to live. I’d buy a house there if I won the lottery. Actually, I’d probably have to win 3 or 4 times. Compared to 115 in Phoenix, you’d have come out ahead even if you just took photos of the inside of your truck the whole time! 😀
Beautiful area up along the Central Coast of Cali. I would think you could spend a lifetime taking photos of those areas. Too bad you can't get down to the seashore area. Awesome pics you two..
Yep you could spend a lot of time here. Just beautiful. Even though you can’t get down to the coast, I’m kind of in favor of it. That way people can’t ruin it haha.
I live about 25 miles from that favorite spot you found, Garrapatta State Beach. I have been there so many times and have captured images that I just love. It’s different every time you go there. As for this video. It reminded me how lucky I am to live in such a stunning part of the earth. And the gasoline price, that is why we are known as Coruptafornia !!!!! Gavin Newsome and Nancy Pelosi SUCK !!!! Ok, enough politics. Thanks for a great video and your fantastic images. You two ROCK !!!!
Another awesome video. I just finished an Oregon coast trip. I either had low clouds or no clouds and nothing in between. I don't know if this is true but I read somewhere that when the valleys heat up the air rises which pulls in the fog along the coast. Thus summer time may not be the best. I have also heard that October is the best time to photograph the coast in California. I would like to go to the Washington coast for the winter storms, especially Cape Disappointment. I really enjoy your RUclips videos. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing! Its so beautiful up there. im visiting Monterey in a few weeks and cant wait to try some of the trails at McWay Falls and Garrapata Park. Great Vid! "Like" & "Subcribed" 👍
Great images guys. As a native Californian, all apologies on your gasoline expense. It is indeed ridiculous, some are even calling it Commifornia now. Next time you are up this way try Pfiffer Beach, beautiful sunset location especially silly around November time frame. Cheers.
For me a trip to California is never complete without a drive up the PCH. Gas is a little cheaper in San Luis Obispo (but still high compared to other places around the USA). Big Sur is considered to be a "remote" part of California. That's why your paying $7/gas. I've stayed in Carmel a few times. All the businesses are Mom & Pop. No chain stores. I don't remember the name of the grocery store in that town that I walked to but the prices were off the charts. Your paying for the novelty.
What a great video of a great trip! We’ve been thinking of taking that ourselves. Question: what is the location of the last shot that you showed in your video?
Thanks Greg! I don’t know if it has an official name, but it’s just south of the Bixby bridge a few miles. Lots of pullouts along the way to see this beautiful area!
Thank you for the views haha! Just south of Bixby bridge. I don’t know if it has an official name but you can miss the wildflowers. We just pulled over at a pullout and explored. There are actually lots of places right there to pull over in that area.
@@PereaPhotography ok thx. I was looking on satellite view and couldn't find the stairs and path... probably an old view. Looks like green fields. I'm sure it will be years before i make it out there but at least it will be pinned on my map. ;) Thx! again.
the reason the gas prices are so high is that every big town is a tourism hot spot so its basic economics supply and demand for gas always high demand there so the business can set prices how high they want to make more money because they know that no one is going to leave and find a cheaper gas station around town. Even though I don't like it and think there should be a limit on how much the price should be in those high tourism spots. But that will never happen.
I just heard the other day that gas stations are running low or out of gas not because of a supply shortage, but a driver shortage (Covid). But $6.37/gal? That's criminal. Edit: if you're ever in the Baltimore area, check out the National Aquarium. It's spectacular. But the Monterey looks cool, too!
@@Simon_PieMan yeah, but the UK doesn't have a domestic supply chain like the US does. $6.37/gallon is literally more than double the national average price as of this morning. There must be a paucity of gas stations in the Monterey area because competition would drive that price way down.
Chalk up another reason not to visit CA, $6 a gallon. No wonder they sell a lot of Teslas. Great photos though. Nice for the sun to finally pop out. Cheers! 🥂
