    Thank you for the video! Brought me back memories. I grew up with this siren, as it used to be a fire call siren for the local VFD in NY (Maynard Fire Department in Marcy, NY). It was installed sometime in the 1960's. But in 2009 it was taken down and replaced with a Whelen that made a "whoop, whoop!" noise. That Whelen could not hold a candle to the STL-10 that was there!

    Why do they do these tests ? Sometimes this goes off multiple times a day

      They do these tests to make sure these sirens work. Because if they didn't work, in the event of a tornado or air raid, they wouldn't alert people to take cover!
