I was born in the late fall of 1978. I love the Very Pretty and Very Talented Betty Hutton! I Love Watching Bety Hutton's Movies!
Betty Hutton was full of talent, that we don't see nowadays! Thank you for posting.
I love this classic fun number! I l love the 1944 classic movie And The Angles Sing! I was born in 1978. Thank you for posting and sharing this movie magic! I love it!
I love how much enthusiasm she put into her performances :)
She reminds me so much of Lucille Ball in this. Wouldn't be at all surprised if the one was an inspiration to the other.
Well, this film was the one which introduced me to Betty Hutton .It would not be so entertaining without her. As soon as she appears, energy flows in, and you wait for her and her numbers !
Seeing Betty Hutton‘s absolutely outstanding performance is even MUCH better than just listening to that GREAT song! Love it!
There is no doubt that Betty Hutton is as talented as they come ... what a treasure.
Betty Hutton was loaded with energy in all her novelty songs both in recordings and those she sang in movies, and yet she could switch gears and sing the ballads with such a beautiful soft soothing voice. Close behind her in energy was her sister Marion Hutton with Glenn Miller....especially singing "Kalamazoo" in "Orchestra Wives". Both very talented vocalists.
BOB HOPE called Betty Hutton a vitamin pill with legs. L.O.L.
I used to have this record. Was feeling a bit nostalgic and gave it another listen. It is a fun song with nothing to object to. I miss those carefree days.
Just the greatest routine of them all!
Betty was a comic singer and when she sang serious songs nobody can sing them any better.
For the Curious: Song was originally written specifically for the movie by Johnny Burke and James "Jimmy" Van Heusen. Burke was the lyricist, while Van Heusen scored the music. The two had a long and successful partnership which generated a lot of hits, including one best known by Glenn Miller fans, "Moonlight Becomes You."
Bonus Trivia: Van Heusen's birth name was Edward Chester Babcock.
Awesome 😎
A true original. She was a real life animated cartoon
I think it was best said by Bob Hope, who I believe that in the video for Murder, He Says, he called Betty a, “walking vitamin pill.”
Just discovered that a new book on Betty has just come out,
called , appropriately, "Rocking Horse" (by Gene Arceri, and published by Bear Manor)). It's based on her taped interviews with the author, ....and reading through the delightful (and often heartbreaking) chapters, one can almost hear Betty's own voice telling her story.
Any Hutton fan will love this compact and telling inside look
of highlights in her career.
She was a beautiful lady and she was a beautiful woman and she was so funny so talented
A great bundle of energy,I thought Betty was great,it's songs like this that put smiles on people's faces during the war.
SHE ROCKS!
This is one of my favorites! Love her so much!
The kids now have musical heroes who write songs about ex lovers and insult other musicians. It’s junior high mentality gossip. This was a full orchestra with changing energies and humor! We don’t need a cover of this, we need people who can be original and do stuff like this!
AHH! I always wanted to know what this song was from! Thanks a ton!!
MY GOD!
***** awesome
⭐⭐💓⭐💓⭐💓⭐💓I love it 💓⭐💓⭐💓⭐💓⭐⭐
@CountryBarbie777 Well said. She was a one-off, a true star. Just unique.
So funny!
Queen of pantomime!!
You can really see how much Bette Midler took from Betty Hutton.
OH I just loved that song! I played the hell out of it. I thought it was the funniest thing. We were pretty boring then. LOL.
As Bob Hope remarks while Betty Hutton exits the stage after her Command Performance of "Murder, He Says," "Yes sir, a vitamin pill with legs" (ruclips.net/video/Pz7dZ9Q3K-E/видео.html).
The limitless horsepower that she displayed while performing her signature novelty pieces is all the more remarkable considering the demons that it camouflaged during her hideously difficult life. But, then, that is the mark of not merely a great artist, but a true star.
This is one of the few where I like her Capitol recording better.
Dani Pierce the capitol recording is good, but it has less energy
I LOVE CRACK, CRACK GOOD
Camprock?
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL !
maybe i take for granted that entertainment has evolved through the years, but this was awful.
Elaborate?
very over dramatic, less is more.
tbf I think that's just how she works, look at her other songs, She's always pretty dramatic
She was just a unique talent. She had more energy then any other star back in that day.
So, don't watch Betty's videos if you like a sedate, put-you-to-sleep entertainer. Yawn.
