Me and my husband went on a trip to Mongolia exactly one year ago, we were there for one month, traveling and living with nomads that we know. It was fantastic, beautifull, the best trip of my life, but it was hard on the body. A lot of meat, not much vegetables, long rides in off road conditions, exposed to weather and with very few modern comforts. Still the best thing I have done in my life and I am looking forward to doing it again!

Glad to hear that! Yes most nomads eat meats and flour dish but in summer, we eat mostly daily products to detox and freshen up. But “we” do eat big meaty meals like Khorhog or Boodog on some occasional day like holiday, or when we have speacial guests over. (As for nomads this speacial guests could be tourists.)

The kitten stole the show. Sorry, Sorelle. Beautiful desert and phenomenal culture? Absolutely. Awesome edits? Definitely. Ridiculously cinematically filmed desert kitty? That's it. That's all I ever needed in my life and will need.
From the bottom of my heart,
    Thank you,

This is only southern part of Mongolia. Northern part is full of hairy mountains with hairy yaks and yetis.
As a northern Mongolian, i have never been to the south because i have low tolerance against hot climate.

I was there for two weeks in 2007. Travelled between Ulaanbaatar and Choibalsan and back again. The trip through the desert to get to Choibalsan was so interesting, bumpy, and memorable. Mongolia has a raw beauty and vast expanses. Consumed lots of Vodka, and I am not a drinker. I hope to return one day to see my many friends there. I was so surprised to see this. You made my day and brought back many fond memories. Thank you.
