This is the best very well explained video I have across RUclips. I am getting back to Madden to play with friends I just get by knowing the true basics of the game such as downs, FG and TD. I don’t know any positions or terms such as flats, outside, underneath… etc This video did an amazing job helping me understand it much better. Love how the examples were shown truly amazing. Thank you!
I’m not a fan of football but have always liked playing the game with friends. Like I said I get by just playing my way but I actually want to learn what defense/offense I can use to counter certain plays my friends use.
I find myself throwing a lot of interceptions in Madden 23 so I’m not too confident in my deep passing game so I become very predictable. 😂 Also my friends complain about the game not calling passing interference. Which seems to be a problem.
Thanks man, I've always had a bad passing defense in franchise mode on all madden, I don't trust myself to play my DBs so I stick to D-line and LBs, but learning some of these tips will hopefully help me get better at defending passes.

I appreciate videos like this. Haven’t played madden since madden 08 on the og Xbox. Just got 23 on my ps5 a few days ago and I know nothing about formations, plays, players, mechanics, strategies, I know nothing. Getting tired of 2k and the learning curve in this game is pretty fulfilling.

@@ronniewest87 lol I'll be honest I gave my copy of 2k away to my little cousin. In the time since this comment I've built a pretty decent PC so most of my gaming is on either battlefield 4 for nostalgia, rdr2 with mods, or gamecube emulators for my childhood.

13:06 are you using L trigger to strafe here or are you simply using the analog stick alone without using turbo to position well?

How can I practice my defensive adjustments when I only have one controller how can I do it every time I go into practice on the main hub or in the franchise the offense always likes the ball then a second half how can I do it

How is your playbook like that mine is always in the right side how do you make it like that.
I like to run a 5 man cover one scheme overloaded to one side then take the deep safety and double the number one wr it works really well when you’re playing against deep threat speed receivers
How do you run a 5 man ? Nickel formation ?
@@reneramirez3940 man on man 3 cbs on Wrs the linebacker on the rb or te or safety on rb or te those are interchangeable depending on the speed match up then the last safety plays a deep zone over the middle and from there you can contain your line for mobile qbs
@@reneramirez3940 but as I stated earlier you can make all kinds of changes and adjustments like take the deep zone and instead double the number one wr or you can over load your line to one side
@@reneramirez3940 or you could send the lb or safety on a blitz and change your man coverages there’s all sorts of things you can do in cover one schemes you just have to be careful with cb to wr matchups especially the rn and te due to mismatches

What defense or adjustment do you use to keep your DB’s from running into each other? Also what adjustments do you make so that your guys don’t run all the way across the formation at the snap to get to their man? I know they said DB would be better this year but the only changes I’ve seen are that in all-madden the DB’s are OP and that this year the ball bounce’s like it’s filled with helium instead of air..
Try switch your coverages up
5:11 my problem with this is that every time i choose man coverage and give the receivers room, my corners end up running towards them for some reason and i have no choice but to put them in press. idky this happens to me whenever i do this. if any Madden pros know why, lmk.

Tbh if ur using the chargers just run 3-4 even cover 3 sky and put bosa and Mack as the DE and hard flat the outside LB, press JC Jackson against the WR and u user one of the middle LBs. I literally average 3 picks a game.

Cover for a generally means guys are going to be standing around waiting to miss the interception. And when you play Guys these days it's a lot of Tulsa ball. And EA allows that to go on. So you'll have all these guys standing back there and they'll still miss the interception and not get any pressure on the quarterback. You better off running cover three man up or you better find a blitz. To set up off of it. Like you can run safety Blitz and Zone 3 and then you can switch out to man safety blitz. So it looks the same.

I’m trying to change my quarterbacks’ throw style to slinger 8 in franchise, but when I do change it in the edit player menu, his throwing motion is the same, as if I didnt change it to slinger 8 at all. I even changed his abilities and it is still the same. Someone please help

How do you substitute on defense
Was literally just playing and went to OT. I scored a td on first possession, a running td. It allowed me to kick the extra point and kept going even announced I won. He scores a td but it gave him 7 instead of 6. He kicks the extra point and wins by 1. Wtf. Never seen this before I didn't record it but did message the dude on Xbox. This was on the series x. Never seen anything like it.

That happened with me but I was suppose to lose. After he scored on first OT drive. It gave me the ball. OT even ended and restarted giving me the chance to score . I scored to tie it then went for two and won . Dude was maddd🤣
So I’m not the only one… did the overtime rules change because even on play now when I score first the game keeps going.

@@Joker23236 no It’s a glitch. I’ve had overtime games end on the 1st score that only happened to me once

I get kicked out often. Even going to replays in franchise mode a lot.

Am I the only one having some serious trouble with pash rush in madden 23, it seems like I can’t get a jump and then non of the moves work at all, even using TJ Watt, bosa, AD, any of the elite pash rushers just doesn’t work, and also I am having issues with using my DT and he randomly slants at a 45° angle or runs side ways when the ball is snapped, very frustrating

What im gathering is that there isn't that much you can actually do and the AI teammates are just trash. You don't get enough time before the snap to make more than 1 adjustment, and the CPU will just throw against whatever adjustment you make.

Is it at all beneficial to play as a DL? I am pretty good at it since I have always used dl in the older maddens but haven't played in a decade. I see most people play LB
It’s beneficial to play a DT on an inside run because sometimes you can slip right by the guards and get a TFL. I usually only play as a DE when i drop everyone into coverage to guarantee some pressure
Cover one in Madden has always sucked especially when they offer it up to you and you just got roasted for 90 yards.

Right bumper - then up on D pad for guess throw , and down on D pad for cover run up middle, right bumper & either left - right on the D pad covers run for either side.
