I love it, bc I'm in at a point of my life where I'm doubtful of everything. I stopped my studies at university, I rejected all my friends and my family. I waited for months to experience this state of consciousness freed from social imperatives. Alone and lost but peaceful I guess
More or less we're in the same situation but I'm continuing Univerisity with my difficulties. There are moments when I feel lost. I lost a lot of friends and usually I don't want see anyone because I'm always in bad mood, even with my family. We will do it, my friend. It's not over. I hope you'll be fine.
Once you've grown past your much deserved season of peace, show others how you arrived. Slowly and at your pace. I was once deeply alone I was so empty that my mind atrophied in the process. I picked up hiking the Colorado mountains and slowly built a church community open your heart but guard it as well. We all need love, but we all need the peace of silence. Don't deny yourself either. God bless you, my dearest sibling in Christ. 😊 May your perfect peace be found, for it is found when your eyes are set on Him.

Yes I understand this. Its freedom in Christ that I found that truly set me free. I use to listen to the entire Rocky anthology because I found comfort in all the emotional tracks when I would lament over how lonely I felt in the world but when I gave my life fully to Christ, something changed in me and I still enjoyed the music but it wasn’t out of longing and remorse for the times I missed with people, it became more soaking in the emotion of what He has given me in life. Eternal life. So, I pray you reach that same place where you enjoy same music, different season, different reason.

This must be the morning after his fight with Creed if that silhouette is anything to go by.
It's a gritty Philadelphia morning, back when Rocky movies were still gritty and that 80s superhero aesthetic hadn't set in yet. And there's talk around the city about how some nobody actually got in the ring with Apollo Creed and outlasted his punches. Didn't win, but he didn't die, which is crazy. I feel inspired to know this. What ordinary people are capable of.
@HereForTheComments That is an amazing theory. Probably would've happened in the beginning of Rocky II, just after The Italian Stallion gets operated on, & goes to Apollo's hospital room with Rocky asking Apollo, "Did you give me your best?" Then the morning comes...

One of the most powerful sequences in the film is when Rocky tries to intervene with the young girl and be a role model, to get her away from being around bums. He thinks it takes one to know one (himself), but she sees through him and calls him out ("Screw you, Rocky!"), because he (still) is a bum. This sets him on a path of despair, confronting his shortcomings.
You know, in boxing terms, there's something called "shadow boxing", when you just work on your punches with nothing to hit. I like to see Rocky as a man not fighting anyone, or fighting for anything (like the championship), he's fighting his shadow. The shadow of a man he is, takes form first in the meat on the hook in the butcher shop, where he just turns into a savage hitting it with all of his pain.
But later, it takes the form of Apollo (who acts ridiculously, like a bum). Apollo stands in like a kind of a shadow of a man that Rocky is trying to overcome. I think of Rocky seeing Apollo as that shadow, and that's why he never stops getting up and hitting back at him. Rocky puts himself literally in the fight of his life.
In a way, many of us feel like we go through life fighting our own shadow, our past, and struggling to define our future by overcoming a defining challenge in life, which is ourselves.

Just love this tune, played at normal speed or like this, I stand on my door step late at night or early in the morning listening to this makes me reflect on my life, the things I've seen and done in 60yrs, the good the bad n the ugly . About friends and family who are now long gone and this tune somehow enables me to enter an almost trance like state, as if I'm almost back there. My time in HM Forces and the combat stress that came with it after going through and seeing some tragic things happen to good friends . Thank you for posting this its an awesome tune and for me very healing and somewhat life transporting into memory's buried very deep mostly good some bad, but by n large makes life good just listening to it .
